What's on your mind today? I'm thinking about how we're at the two year anniversary of "When The World Changed."

Same as most other mornings here. Get through a.m. routine so I can do genealogy upstairs. I am hoping to go to an 8 p.m. Zoom presentation tonight, if I'm not too tired. By 8 p.m. most nights, I'm reading on the couch.

I ordered myself a new computer last weekend, will be ready for pick up on Friday. I hate the time needed to get it set up, but I'm treating myself because I'm finally getting a social security check. I might leave the older laptop downstairs and not have to move back and forth. I'm always careful on the steps but my hands are usually full.

How well I remember that day! I believe dd flew out of Orlando with a group of her students to Washington D.C. for a national competition. They got registered -most did not. Then came word that the competition was being cancelled. They scrambled trying to get a flight back & were told they'd have to go out on their scheduled flight on Sunday. But somehow some strings were pulled & they were scheduled to fly back on the next day with no added fees. They did do some sightseeing with the students so not completely wasted. By the time they got back they were told they'd have to quarantine, but then schools closed that following Monday anyway. And we all know where it went from there.

Morning…

I started my day by stubbing me toe! Doesn’t hurt today but know tomorrow will be the test.

Upside down start of the day…been exercising after I get up but didn’t want to be hot and sweaty when I watched Ukraine’s president gave his speech. And what an inspiring one it was.

In the meantime I’ve done my morning routines and started some laundry. Amazingly the camels haven’t shown up here in Fl so they must have stayed at my old house. Hope they don’t pester the new owners too much

Someone from the moving company is coming today to give me an estimation and quote for my upcoming move. I am going to set it up for about 10 days after we do the closing. This will give me time to move things like lamps, pictures and many banker boxes in hopes that I can be better organized once the final move happens. That way I can set up my kitchen and lay down my shelving paper. It will also give us a better feel for the spaces in each room. I’ll start boxing up some of the things around here in a week or two, but plan on using banker boxes so I can pack and unpack as I go.

the wood floor guy will give me 15 % off if I do the work next week as he is busy from April on - he is well known by dd older's contacts. beautiful work.
I called the city and I am okayed for the pods
I have to call a mover
call my brother to go over it
hire movers and pods
pay 1/2 down - he gave me a great price and comes highly recommended

I keep thinking about the last 2 years - today in Chicago is the 2 year anniversary of the first loss. very sad. I am thinking of all the families.

Focus issues again today. I'm setting timer to do Pomodoros - 25 min working and 5 min break. I did something similar yesterday and after awhile I get focused enough to not need to the breaks.

Good Morning!

I am trying to decide if I want to slack off again today or go back to my normal schedule. I have options and choices to make.

Yesterday i spent a few hours playing in the dirt. The weather was gorgeous and so comfortable that I was in a short sleeve T-shirt. I know we will get more winter weather, so nice weather days feel like a gift to be enjoyed.

Cathy - Where OH where are you? I miss your post. Please come out and chat. Vent if you need. You are missed.

I was able to watch the immediate aftermath of the speech and caught some early reaction.

Dd42 wants me to watch the coverage of the European uptick in virus and I donwanna.

I guess today a year ago (?) dd23 and I were driving by the elementary school's controlled chaos in letting out early, on our way to our last visit with my dear aunt of the daily aprons. She and I communicated by phone and greeting cards after that and she died at 100 last year.

My friend from church called me to caution me about coming to church that Sunday, saying "you've worked so hard (to keep HRH safe during immunity concerns)" and I mused, "but won't next week be even worse?"

It's going to start raining soon and i'm disappointed we didn't get the rain diversion in place yet for the sunny flower bed, but it'll be okay. Looks like I'll have to do a work-around in planting there, but at least the root-space won't be compromised, just the above-ground space.

With a long and eventful errand day yesterday, it's the housework I'll be getting to today, let's hope. I also need to visit colorist, though, and trash could use transport.

Waving to everyone.
I have done morning stuff qt planning s2s and a session on the stat bike.
It is good to see the sun out this morning now we had rain earlier and it was cloudy.
Two years ago this week was the beginning of the end for lh as the down ward spriral was happening.
dson sent a pic on a group message on fb that made me tear up of him and grands as little tykes.
I had been teary before that for other reasons.

Got a batch of bread in the fridge trying it over nite might be rolls not sure yet.

The way I look at it some sort of variance of the virus will be around us forever so I’m not gonna buy into the panic again. My guess is many people are feeling that way again.

A while back I was in a situation where my whole world changed on a dime. For I few years I dreaded the anniversary of that day and let the past color my life again. I had to make a conscious effort to let go of it and look forward instead of back. It took effort to do that but I am glad I no longer get drug back into its misery. I learned a lot about myself … the good, the bad and the ugly… but I am happy to say those specific dates no longer effect me like they did in the past.

Hence… live boldly, take risks, no regrets
