LadyM… remember your son is surrounded by his friends and the pressure is on. He hung up because he needed to save face with the guys. Just imagine what the conversation was on his end after he hung up.
This is the beginning of the hard years for boys, their friends and social media. Best to let it go until he comes home and then talk to him about how his friends may of pushed him to calling you and how it made him feel. Remember impulse is not under control and now that he’s growing and hanging out with the guys these types of should I or shouldn’t I situations are going to start firing at him in all directions.
Talk to him first and ask him if he thinks there should be a consequence and let him choose what it should be. That makes him accountable for his own behavior while also making him feel like he has some control.
He’s starting to face a lot of guy things and your husband is your best ally. Guys see things much differently than we do some times especially at this age. Talk to you husband and see what he thinks.
I remember when my son was your sons age and started doing some really stupid stuff. My then former Marine husband gave me some get advice and say…you’ve mothered and smothered him…in a kind way…all you can but now he needs his dad.

(((LadyM))) I sooo dread the day that dgs hits this stage. Right now he is just so sweet and kindhearted, never a selfish thought at all. But I know they all go through these tough ages, so I'm sure he will also.
Good advice, Rose.
I have s2s and got the mail... that's about it for ta-das today. At least there aren't many footprints around, except in dgrands' room. LOTS of footprints there.
I also really, REALLY need to clean bathrooms and vacuum, but I'm just in a ho-hum attitude about it. I may get the bathrooms done, (and another load of laundry) but I have a feeling everything else will wait till next week and I will continue in "vacation-recuperation" mode today.
Changes in plans for tomorrow... ds couldn't get the other grandpa to keep dgrands, but band leader's wife volunteered.
So plans are back on for short trip -- ds is taking dgd to band leader's house tomorrow, and dgs (who still has no symptoms at all) will go to the show with us and spend Saturday/Sunday with us. It might be risky, but dh is willing to take the risk.
I actually wonder if dh and I might have had Covid with this last round of sinus/bronchitis trouble. We never tested. It could be that the two rounds of antibiotics I took just filled the time till the virus ran its course. Pretty much the same for dh, although he didn't even take the second round of meds because he said they made him feel weak and shaky.
So glad you got a good report, Dee! Thinking of your dbil and the rest of you; I know it must be so hard to be far away at this time.

I know Lucy. I don't even want to work on my genealogy writing...
Funeral on Sunday, I won't be able to go to.
I went downstairs and sat on our screened porch with dh for awhile. Across the porch from him. I was feeling fussy tho. Guy had been mowing and weed eating next door had moved to M's house and the mower and weed eater are so loud and obnoxious. He was driving me crazy next door. Dh kept wanting to talk and I couldn't hear anything. And there was still a wet area on a cushion and I sat in it.
I talked to dd earlier and told her to use our credit card to order herself DoorDash Matzah ball soup from a local Jewish deli there. I sent dh out to get me a Cuban from a deli here. My sense of taste is probably off, in addition to the bad taste in my mouth from the meds. Nothing tastes right or satisfying.

(((Twins)))
DGS25 spent the entire afternoon (6 hours) here. He did his laundry and followed me around like a puppy.
We talked non-stop with each of us agreeing to disagree on 95% of the subjects that we discussed. DGS25 gave his insight & input into what DS13 did that resulted in his losing access to the social media apps. At first, DGS25 defended DS13 actions but when I explained that DS13 came to me and asked for help to stop doing it. I explained the studies and findings of teenage boys doing it and the long-term results. DGS25 then agreed that DS13 is too young to be doing those type of things especially with no real-life experience. DGS25 told me that I should continue to help DGS13 stop especially since he is seeking help. SHOCKING! DGS25 and I agreed on something!
DH was about to drive to the city to pick up DMIL medication refills. I stopped him and reminded him that as of 11am today when he signed DMIL up for hospice/home health that everything changes. The home health doc/nurses now provide all meds. We don't go to pharmacy to get DMIL meds anymore. Some meds will be discontinued, and others added as needed. The medical treatment has changed from preventing diseases to keeping her comfortable. DH called the home health director to confirm with her that he should not pick up the meds. Then he called the pharmacy that DMIL has used for 5+ decades and told them she is now a hospice patient and won't be a customer anymore.
I picked up BBQ for everyone (except me) at local place. I made myself a huge skillet of stir-fry for my meal.

Re: Footprints erasing Friday
Did not bail on ya'll! Was just in a rush!
This day took me away to a bday and brought dd23 here. Both good things. The gift "wrapping" did have to go as I suspected. Literally was able to get the last gift out of the mailbox on the way! Cookout (restaurant) for lunch, picked up, and I "ordered" a BLT with bacon on the side. But none of the others would eat the bacon either because it was a sloppy clump rather than anything crisp. Sandwich was fine and ...
...Cake was a "Creeper"!
(scary minecraft bad guys in green) Also there were earthworm cupcakes old-school gummies. HRH and I feel we did a good job on gifts (whew).
Dd23 could only go later after work.
She came by here took from me two housecoats I can certainly spare and am glad to hear she will relax in. Also, a spare Covid test so she and roommate K have one at their place. Also borrowing my good black/white geometric pattern mask until next week. (she needs grays or blacks for work now - the gallery's colors are orange and black and she looks exactly as you would think she might in orange or peachy attempts at it, lol) Everybody chooses grays to black, she says. By the next time I see her, I should have her order of masks for her, all grays.
Here at home this evening, I visited my colorist, which couldn't wait longer. Ideally I'd have done it last night but sitting in front of telly.
I cannot believe verging on the weekend! We will have company on Sunday and I must plan a little regarding that.
Big sweet potato for evening snack was acceptable after a day in which I ate mostly what I should but not enough of the good stuff.

Re: Footprints erasing Friday
I got sucked into net flicks and some writing. Had dinner. Laundry is dry and needs folded. I swept the driveway, it finally stopped raining.
