Dee, I found this:
Jeans hemming tutorial (written) that I linked 2015, which is the same method and has pretty good photos. For really slim leg jeans, you may need a sewing machine that allows you to have a slimmer sewing surface, such as for making sleeves.
You're right, between my video link you're talking about and my mentioning it again, 2008, posts stop going back that far, so I'm sorry, I don't find the video anymore either.
If you do go by this written one, pay no attention to the page's upper video. Just pause it because it's a new advertisement, not info.

Re: Canada Day PWYC
We went and got take-out for supper. Since then, I have sliced a 29 POUND watermelon -- well, half of it, anyway. (They were all the same size. I am hoping ds will come by and take the other half home with him!) When I have watermelon, I like to slice it into chunks and put it in tupperware. Then we can eat it in smaller quantities and not have to deal with the mess over and over.
I also got ALL the pictures ordered! Then found some new ones on ddil's FB that I wanted to save.
I still need to wash dishes -- a few cups, and the pan I used while slicing the watermelon.
DGD and I have played school... and she has had her bath... and she will probably be ready to lie down soon. She is early to bed, early to rise. NOT on my time table at all... but it does make for a quiet evening.
And tomorrow morning, I need to get up and at 'em, because dfriend called and said he would be at his shop till noon and I could come get the hedge clippers. (He said he would just take them home with him if I didn't get there before he closed, and I could come by and pick them up there, but I am going to try my best to get to the shop before he closes. His wife is my life-long friend, although we don't stay in touch a lot these days. She was my only attendant in my wedding. I don't want to seem like I am taking advantage of our friendship by asking him to do this sort of job. He usually works with larger equipment, farmers, etc.)
All y'all talking about hemming jeans made me think of a picture of my ddad, wearing really tight-leg jeans, at the hems, I mean, kinda tapered from mid-calf -- y'all know what I'm talking about? This was circa 1958, I'd say. Dmom said he had his grandmother take them in like that. Is that what they called "pegged" legs? Fashion is sometimes so strange. Of course, later in the 80s/90s? all my female students were rolling their jean cuffs into "tight rolls."
LadyM, I totally understand about the fireworks. We almost always take dgrands to this huge public display in Next Town, and the crowd/traffic is HORRIBLE... but, I think they like it, and it's kind of tradition now.
I kinda like watching these large displays but I definitely am NOT a fan of private citizen displays. My cousins across the field do them with their whole neighborhood, and I could probably see them from my house (although tall trees might block my view of some of them.) But after witnessing my ddad having a Roman candle explode in his hand, I have been very nervous around dare-devil young men and their love for fireworks. That includes dbil and dnephew.
There have been several local displays around here already, one big one last weekend, which is VERY popular, but we have never been to it. Once we tried, but it is in a big field on a country road, and people almost block the road completely. It is a real safety hazard. One year someone needed an ambulance out there, and they had a terrible time getting to them.
I also have a bit of bittersweet emotions with fireworks, and this year is going to be hard. When I was growing up, we ALWAYS went to watch large display like this at my dad's workplace, big 4th of July picnic with bar-b-que and games for children, entertainment. I LOVED it. One year... Other Guy sat with us and watched them with us... and... y'all see where this is headed. Memories. So since my feelings have been all over the place lately already, I'm not real anxious to watch this year. But I'll enjoy it just the same.
I need to call my dfriend's husband also... Today is one month since her funeral. But I'm doing better NOT talking about it/her/etc. so I keep putting off calling him again, since I almost broke down crying also the last time we talked.
Harriet, benadryl lotion was what they put on my arms when I had my last allergy testing. I remember I was amazed at how well it worked. I keep forgetting to buy some to keep at home. Hope HRH * and you, with migraine * both feel better soon!
(((Harmony))) Bless your heart... I know this just makes you CRAZY with Mr. Harmony determined to stay in this business. My ddad was 73 when he passed away, and had worked full-time, all the time, until at least the year before. Chemo slowed him down a bit and then they spent 4 months in Houston before his death. But that is the ONLY way he would have given up his work. And dmom still had some loose ends to tie up after they left for Houston. I think his "crew" probably finished up their last real job about the time ddad went to Houston, but as you know, dmom was left with all kinds of paperwork into the next year. So all I have to offer is (((BIG HUGS))).

Re: Canada Day PWYC
Oh, thank you, Harriet. Think that pictorial is pretty much the pictures I have printed out -in FL of course. I did fold up one leg today and that's as far as I got this morning. Rest of the day was crazy. Dh had an ultrasound of his heart today looking for blood clots with AFib. Once he was cleared he could be discharged. Went in to get him and waited for over an hour for a wheel chair and the nurses on the floor decided to take him down themselves. He said he could walk and I'm sure never thinking how weak he is, we had a very heavy bag to carry and me with a cane, plus making sure he was steady. Wasn't happening.
Brought dh home after a stop at W algreens for his new meds. His antibiotic was ready but not the Xarelto. Brought him home and went back a couple of hours later for the Xarelto -$137/30 day supply. Hoping his cardiologist puts him on Plavix (which he used to take). He'll go see him in about 2 weeks. He sees his GP Tuesday morning. Our EMT friend explained the AFib very well to him this afternoon. Talked about the top of the heart quivering and blood clots can form in the heart. Then if/when the heart hits a normal rhythm those blood clots can break free and cause a stroke. We knew stroke was a real danger with Afib but I guess we never understood it all.
DD brought over a lounge chair and dh stayed on our deck the rest of the afternoon. DS-A, DDIL and DGS9 came out for a while. While I was gone to pick up his med our neighbors got a fire going. Came back to them, other 2 dear friends, DD, DS-R, DDIL-R and dh sitting out there. Then DS-A & family came back from dinner at the Pub and joined us for birthday cake. We came back over home first as dh was really getting tired. I'm glad I looked at his Xarelto as the directions say take one with dinner. Dh insisted he'd had one today. I finally looked at his discharge papers and saw where his last one was at 5:59pm yesterday. So got one out for him.
Heading to bed. Dcampmanager had asked me to call when we were on our way back in. As we came through the gate in front of the store -all the employees were out and had a siren going and wishing him a happy birthday. Couldn't wipe the grin off his face. It's amazing (to me anyway) how many people have told me/us how very respected dh is here. Nice to hear though.

Re: Canada Day PWYC
Meant to tell Nancy that we're thinking of her today as it is her and Mr. Nancy's anniversary. Hope you can think of only happy memories today and beyond.
