Re: Friday PWYC - FOCUS & FINISH
HRH and I were up late watching tv. By dawn a package was delivered, back porch screen door opening and closing. Tobias was appalled.
Some general straightening done by the time I got up at 8 because HRH couldn't go back to sleep.
Company at 11:00 or noon or so. Since I'm not eating before that hour lately, I wonder if I will be able to guard my choices.
4:00 start prep with various family for a bday party, also a time I'm usually eating, so I have a funny day ahead.
Next up for me is some dishes. Wrap one present.

Re: Friday PWYC - FOCUS & FINISH
I'm just tired this a.m. and I got up a little earlier because dcleaning lady is coming today, also the Js to begin assembly and installation of cabinets. I'd really like to just put my head under the bed.
We ended up cancelling appt re: counters yesterday because it turned out builder ordered cabinets all white. I recall that we decided white and light gray, then went to all white, then back to white and gray. Dh recalls that we never wavered and always wanted white and gray, and the builder that we started white and gray and then changed to all white. So what was ordered is all white, and I'm on the opinion it's still a new kitchen and it will be beautiful. Dh probably will never forget that he wanted the island gray and he'll always be a little angry. But I don't think it's worth a restocking fee and delay. I'm rolling with the punches and hoping that dh can as well.
Dcleaning lady will be here today and I'll tell her to do what she can downstairs, and I have a short upstairs list for her. I'm sticking downstairs until she gets here.
Dh wants us to choose counters today and I think I am just too tired for it. We'll see tho.
Possibly going out tonight for dinner with friends - I told dh only if they decided and made the arrangements.
Same here Harriet on watching TV - later than I like to get into bed.

Re: Friday PWYC - FOCUS & FINISH
Good morning!
I realized this morning that I never went for my walk yesterday. It was a cooler day, and I didn't feel the urgency to get my walk accomplished before the hottest part of the day. Who knew that triple digit heat can be motivating?! Not me.
I've added 5 exercises to my daily SHE cards. They are quick and easy to accomplish in the bathtub. I can feel the results of the exercises, so they are stretching muscles that need to be used.
today plans -
** Team cleaning. This will be an adjusted cleaning since half the living room is filled with furniture & stuff from DD11 bedroom cleanout. It might be just bathrooms and kitchen being cleaned.
** Paint shopping for DD11 bedroom. When I step back and look at the change in DD11, it is nothing short of amazing. She is now willing to make changes to her bedroom. This sounds simple but she has been ADAMANT over the past years to not change a thing. She held onto everything and tried to keep it exactly like it has always been. She is now open to considering making changes. We talked about this with her therapist/counselor and this need to hold on comes from years of constantly moving & losing all her possession over and over when she lived with DD46.
** New phone setup. DH phone should arrive today. His current phone battery is only holding a charge for about 10 minutes so it can't happen too soon.
** Day #1 of my 30 day class. I thought it started tomorrow but just saw the start date is today. Last night I spent some time downloading and setting up the software being used. I need to read through some information and set up the workbook that goes with the course.

I loved :
d harriet - your script makes me smile!
Your writing is like a version of the Chicken soup for the soul - for us it's the SHE edition!
hello everyone
thank d twins for helping me focus!!!
so happy the cleaning angel is coming to bless you today!
curious is your dh like my dh - having people in the house working kind of frustrates my dh he feels inconvenienced - he wants the work without having the people work. (even though he wants it)

I saw this quote and immediately thought of SHE village. What a special place this is.Women need other women in their lives who think they are a big deal.
No competition, no backhanded comments, no jealousy, no hate, just "I love you, support you, and there is no one on Earth like you" kinda energy..."

Re: Friday PWYC - FOCUS & FINISH
this last week was hard on me as I found myself sleeping almost every afternoon. I started on my cpap yesterday. It will take awhile to get used to it. I was surprised how quiet it was. Of course I was lovely!!!
I am going to try to get outside this morning before the major heat of the day. Not being strong for a week was not what I had planned. I love working. but this week my body laughed at me and said no your don't.
I am hoping to take care of a bad weed situation by the patio - it's a weed Paradise
I honestly don't know what today will bring but I look forward to it.
next week I am hoping to stop by the beach and visit a friend. (also for me to have fun at the beach with a little dip in the water).
thinking of taking dh for a little drive next week as well.
as soon as dd older leaves for work then I will turn on the sprinkler out in front. I have been working hard on soaking one zone at a time every 4 days
The quote is beautiful, d lady!!!

LOL, bw2! Yes I know that visual image well! Dh is very very detail oriented about the renovations. Same deal last year too. He goes into the "Well I'm paying good money for this and I want it how I wanted." He misses that sometimes that level of perfection is not possible.
I'm trying to just hang out and do things that are more mindless today. It is nice to have my cleaning angel here.
I love the quote LadyM! Sometimes I need a reality check from you guys too!

Re: Friday PWYC - FOCUS & FINISH
Here's the problem with that, Lady M. I only realized what is going on whenever dh would try to call their office. He called them Tuesday as we left his GP's office. Was on hold for probably 20 minutes. Answering person had lots of questions. Then it appears, that this is an 'answering service' for all the UofR offices. She said then she would forward the request for an appointment to this particular doctor's office. There's no way around it and being able to talk to the correct office itself. A horrible plan IMHO! But dh did say he'd try again this afternoon if he still hadn't heard anything. Know his GP wanted an appointment ASAP.Dee - can you call Gastro Doctor to ask when his appt is? Maybe trigger them to get it scheduled?
On to the problem of yesterday with dh. He was EXTREMELY tired yesterday afternoon/last night. He happened to say something about his potassium last night (which his GP for whatever reason had taken him off Tuesday morning). So, I went and talked with DD for her opinion and we decided together that we didn't think giving him the potassium would hurt. I was somewhat befuddled as his count for his potassium Tuesday was 3.0 which is way too low to begin with. So I have dh 2 last night. He came in to talk with me before he went to work this A.M. Seems he awoke around midnight feeling rested and refreshed. Said he couldn't believe how much better he felt. He's working doing a little 'rider' mowing this morning and he'll be done soon and we'll see how he's feeling this afternoon. I gave him his regular 2 potassium this morning and then he gets 1 at dinner time. May have to get his cardiologist to prescribe the potassium if his GP won't. How I hate this changing of so many meds. Pretty sure his problem yesterday definitely was a very low potassium. I'll pick up bananas for him today along with low sodium V-8. There's more potassium in the low sodium kind and I'm sure that's because the regular salted kind washes out the potassium.
DS-R finally was on his way with dsonil to their home in Lakeland from Orlando about 10pm last night. Sure he was exhausted. He planned to spend the night at dd's house and go over to DBIL's this morning. Ended up flying from D.C. to St Louis and from there to Orlando last night. Oh, YES, I am flying non-stop. I could care less that the fee is a lot more. At least I won't be stranded half-way to FL. He should be back in Rochester by mid-day next Wednesday. DD is planning to pick him up. She's sitting in on a summer welding class Mon, Tues, Wed. DGS17 is helping teach next week. She could go 5 days but she'll be leaving on Thursday. She's going in to learn and observe.

Re: Friday PWYC - FOCUS & FINISH
Break #1 for me. Feet up, fan on, drinking ice tea. I walked and trimmed shrubs/trees. I don't know how many times I have trimmed in the church front garden but it is finally starting to show my effort. It was waaay overgrown and it is a slow process to get it back into shape. Each time I only trim as many branches as I can carry to the dumpster.
A neighbor stopped me on my walk and asked if I would trim her trumpet vines that are taking over her back yard. Uhm....NO. I decline as gently as I could without offending her (hopefully). I'm not a professional and don't even like to trim tree/shrubs I just do it out of a labor of love at our church and my home. I have no desire to start trimming other people's stuff. The trimming wouldn't be so hard but the hauling off of branches trimmed is a big PITA.
DH is with his DMom. DS13 is at work. DD11 slept in the living room last night and everyone talking, coming, and going hasn't woken her. I need to get her up and going. She has paint color/s to pick out and we need to get going on that project. We're burning daylight!
