Blessed, I love the foam machine. Er, that's what happens when a very young inexperienced housekeeper runs out of dishwasher soap and puts regular soap in! You can picture the rest of THAT story.

I was up late trying to get this ballot stuff done. I've made progress. :?

Slept awfully late and was surprised to emerge from that fog to see the clock. Yikes. Saw by the stuff around here DH had tried to call a plumber, called the plumbing supply which was closed (Saturday) and ordered two very expensive filters online. I figured this wouldn't be good news since things have gone up so much recently.

Lucylee , I read your post from last night. Big Hugs. I certainly understand that feeling. People say just tackle one thing at a time and that will give you courage to start on the next thing. What do we do when we can't seem to manage to start in on that ONE thing? Guess that is where you and I are right now.

Not that my house is falling apart at the moment. But I get the feeling it could be if we don't keep up this incessant working on things to keep it all functioning. And isn't it true, when one thing goes bad other things piggy-back onto that and it all gets worse? DH came in from his bike ride and said he was going to check the brakes on the car. ARRRGH! I asked him if we could not start in on another project right now? He said this was preventive maintenance. I'd driven us to the big box stores last evening and I didn't feel anything amiss. Anyway, he must have pulled tires and checked brakes and came in saying all was well. Thank goodness.

Today in my reading of that book I mentioned yesterday: there is a form of amnesia we all experience, which is our brain wandering off by itself in a totally different direction than what it had been focusing on. It happens to everyone but more often to we older folk. Like when we drive somewhere and get there and don't really recall making the trip but there we are just like we planned. I sometimes think my car has memorized the trip and I just point it in the direction and go. Not paying attention. Like when I do my morning routine. Happens on auto-pilot and easy because I don't obsess about what I have to do, I just 'point and go'. Nightly routines happen in the same way. I will have problems if I stop along the way and not remember, i.e. did I check that laundry door to the garage to see it's locked for the night? The other night I think I went back and checked several times because I couldn't remember if I did it.

It's the problem we have when we think of doing something and later on have to go check because did we just think to do it or actually do it? I've experienced that I think.

Anyway, right now I'd like to not think about doing anything. My kitchen is a wreck because everything that belongs under the sink is all set out in the kitchen. In the way. 2 newly-plucked pineapples are waiting for me to cut them up and just thinking about it seems like a huge job and Idonwanna. Well, maybe this is something physical going on with me, maybe my thyroid took a dive? Just for fun I popped a B12 under my tongue. Couldn't hurt, right?

Can anyone else identify with all this?

Walked chatted with one of lh buddies about plans they have on fixing their home up $$$ ack!
I weeded by one fence it was way faster than I thought it would take.
I weeded by the back gate too.
So happy to have that done.
Half was complete with the back yard border now.

Had breakfast & lunch. & I have a plan for dinner.
Journal done did that outside in the shade and a slight breeze was nice!
No planning done yet today.
My back is improving yea!

I napped then went outside and worked on more weeding along the back fence and the patio gate
to make more room for walking.

Took a short golf cart ride to see if my hairdresser was here to maybe get a trim. She didn't cut it after my perm so I'm owed one haircut. Figured I'd live with it as long as I could and then she'd trim and see how long my perm lasts after that.

Also took another drive up to Boulder Hall to see if DGS22 and friend would come do a favor for me on the deck. Seems our back steps (to our bedroom) were never moved back to meet the edge of our deck -probably another 4"-5". I couldn't make it our door if I wanted to. Our RV has also shifted enough that we're already a few inches from the deck on the back end. We mainly use the steps to store our extra sodas and waters for the summer. To the right of that is a small fridge which we just use for beverages. This dgs is always so thoughtful and kind to us. Kept wondering who I could get to move these steps and wallah! It dawned on me they're here showing wraps for golf carts and other things. Had to break as they came down to move it for me. Didn't even take them 2 minutes if that.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Dee, I'm so glad your dgs was able to get the steps fixed for you.

And glad to hear blessed & family got to see each other today, since yesterday didn't work out.

LOL at Harmony's mention of the foam party...
fixing their home up $$$ ack!
Nancy, this is probably dh's MAIN objection re: our repairs right now -- he hopes that we can hang on till * MAYBE * the economy improves a little...
But I am sure that running a very close second is his general objection to simply having to deal with the PEOPLE... scheduling and then the almost always REscheduling and having them in and out and waiting for them to arrive and ALL that goes with it. In his current physical state, he just can't handle any additional stress.
Our house isn't just falling down -- it LOOKS pretty good on the outside, really, and except for three rooms inside, it's all pretty good there too -- except I know how old the carpet is and how long it's been since it was painted, etc. etc. We NEVER have visitors except family (and dbil's girlfriend.) Her house is BEAUTIFUL and she did have a lot of stuff redone recently, I think... but she does NOT seem like the critical type; I've never gotten the feeling that she looks around here and says WHY on earth doesn't Lucy DO something about this??? But y'all know how it is -- I am the one looking and thinking that.

Harmony, IKWYM -- all of that -- about the house, how things piggyback onto each other -- but also the MEMORY thing, and the checking/checking again to see if you did something. I've always been a little bit obsessive about that sort of thing.

Y'all, last night, I ordered supper on the phone.
I was saying, "I need a steak sandwich and a a baked potato..."
and the girl said, "I'm sorry we're out of baked potatoes."
I said, "That's okay, change that to shrimp Alfredo, and two grilled shrimp plates, one with a baked potato..."
and dh interrupted me to say: "They are OUT OF BAKED POTATOES."
 My goodness... I guess I thought they were only out for dh? LOL...
DH thinks I'm just not paying attention, and maybe that's true, but I do things like this a lot.

LadyM, ds' room sounds like it's going to be so nice!

And I'm thinking, Nancy thinks 7:30 is sleeping LATE??? Oh me... that is EXTREMELY early for me! Of course, my dmom is thrilled if she is able to sleep past 6:00, I think. Sometimes she wakes up about the time we are turning off the lights, and then can't go back to sleep.

I'm wondering about dmom and church tomorrow... she did not go last Sunday to her church, (because of unusually early waking and then being exhausted by time to go, she said) and I have mentioned to her twice that ds, dh, and dgs are singing tomorrow at our church. She never said whether she would try to come or not. But I hate to mention it again, because I don't want her to feel like she's hurting my feelings if she doesn't come. OTOH -- she may very well have completely forgotten we talked about it, although it was just last night. Sigh.

WTG on the weeding, blessed!!!

Waving to ALL of you!!!

I started the day extra slow for me, even. But I seem to have gotten my second-wind and finally s2s and I've got sheets in the washer, tossed some watermelon & tangerines that had gone bad. Swapped dgrands with the other grandpa, ate supper with dh & dgs, and now we're back home watching the second Braves game of the day. I am also trying to set up a group page for the teacher group I belong to (at the request of the vp of our group.) I feel kinda lost in this sort of thing... I hope it's not showing to anyone until I hit "publish" or something. It is definitely in the "under construction" stage right now.
DGD is getting better at entertaining herself, and she let me catch up on my sleep (got about 5 hours last night) and then she and I played Uno and colored some. While I napped, she played with her doll house, blocks, and watched videos on YouTube.
Tomorrow is another day.
