Definitely didn’t have my second cup of coffee when I posted this morning. It’s the last comment posted for last night.

Change of plans and I ended up doing my grocery shopping. The road I take to the store was backed for miles. This road leads directly to Pine Island which is under construction. So I went to a different store and got my shopping done.

Happy Anniversary RR & Sweetie!
We had a great laugh over it and later found a place to eat. Remember due to the storm most places are still closed.
Good for you both being able to laugh & celebrate during difficult & challenging times. I saw a post about places not having a full menu and wondered if it was because of the storm also.

DS14 hair detangling/cut took an hour! Hair stylist DFriend gave DS14 instructions on daily hair care so it doesn't happen again.

Lunch was from local BBQ place (only open on Fridays).

a not a vent but still a vent - more humorous to me. well a little annoyance.
I put a list on the back room door -outside - so that I could walk over and check it off as I went a long (I didn't want to get lost in the lights of a thousand fairies)! dh did not know that I could see him reading my list outside - I know it bugs him that I taped it there. (plus he has a bit of the nosey bug about everything I do or any package that comes in for me - mail included. He can't help it.

He is not focusing on his stuff - he is always looking for something for me to declutter even though my stuff is pretty minimal. He is getting into wanting spots for only him again- I can feel he is ready to expand again. ;) - he doesn't know he does it but I can feel that push again.

he has been a toe tapper today 8-) 8-) 8-) as he wants me to do certain things in the house but doesn't want to spend the money. I put aside today for shutting down the garden today.

He also has been imagining himself as worker in the garden. He doesn't mow, weed wack, use a wheel barrel etc. but wants all the things that go with it that if he "wanted" to do garden work then he could. He likes the shiny and new. He can't do the physical work and he doesn't like the work either. It's the last thing on his mind but he likes the idea of it. I know I have gone through that on my own things. I just have to be patient.

ooh sorry - it turned out to be a bigger, non -important, vent than I thought. I am not angry but I can see the inner dh ready to get cranky. ;)

hello d lady yay on ds getting his hair taken care of !

happy anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Rose

I brought the remainder of the pumpkins in front - I am glad neighbors took some!
fixed the brick around the veg garden that dogs knocked over
put a fence around it so that they are not digging that new compost up.
cut down the big hosta and cleaned out the annuals etc.
refilled bird seed in 2 areas.
some weeds gone.
seeds pulled and put in plastic bag until I can clean off the debris.

pulled my auger out as I still have bulbs to plant
grab the bag of gravel and put it down for the walkway so that it won't be so muddy for the dogs
cut down more hostas
it is always a joy to be here with you!

(Blessed) I totally understand. Here, I'm annoyed because DH is focusing on his fence and there's so much he could be doing that's more productive.

I slept in a long long time this morning. Bad me. Oh well. I helped DH with his gate stuff on one side of the fence. It was in the heat of the day and that is hard. He mentioned to me that he doesn't know how he ever worked so hard all day every day in this weather and sun. Neither of us can do that any more.

But when he went out to the HD to get stuff for his gate work, I went up to the mess the tree cutting/power people left. They pulled one big truck in to go back to the wires and trees they were cutting and left a huge swath of bushes, small trees knocked over. If that stuff wasn't pulled out into the piles for pickup, it would never go away. Our water drains down that way, except all this stuff was in the way of that. I worked and worked on it and most of it is pulled up to the pile for pickup. I had to cut a lot of it to get it untangled.

Former employee came by to see how we were doing and we sat at the patio table and talked about the storm for each of us, and finally DH got back. I had already asked him if he'd come help with some of the fence work and would he go up and repair the little bit of roof work we have. Yep, he's coming Monday to do that for us. I asked if he'd take a look at the gutters, I think they're full and he said he would. He's really handy with everything, having worked with DH for 20 years so he knows how to do everything and I am glad to pay him for whatever he does here.

Now DH wants to replant some sod he's digging under to get some dirt for his gate work... and we are digging out those spots anyway to put the crushed shell in a border around the back porch if we ever get to that work... so I'll be out back planting sod. Fun fun, not!

lol it was a good vent! thank you d twins and d harmony - thank goodness I was able to laugh at what was going on...
he is getting persnickety today! :D
lol he just asked me if I was done for today - he asked if he should close the gate after he looked outside. The gate was closed. then again he asked if I was done. I know he wasn't thrilled by my work day. my dear goodness!!!!

((d harmony)) to you - I totally understand and thank you for understanding as well!

I have always been surprised on how d husbands can focus in on one thing and only one thing-at the detriment to other work. my goodness! I remember when we had our baptism with our first daughter my dh started taking things apart. 8-) My neighbors husband had a big party and the day of the party he took apart their windows to wash them. I remember his wife was not happy!

glad you had good sleep d harmony! I heard that you have some hot days.
I am so sorry the workers left bushes and small trees knocked over!!! so much work!
I am so happy you have a friend coming to help!
sorry you have to go out to plant sod! hope the job goes fast!

--------------
our neighbors son is having a big party and they told me as he knew I was working out there. it was very nice that he told me so that I could give the kids space. I will say I hope that it will be his nice friends and not the rude two friends he had before.

glad the father is there as he nips things in the bud right away.

praying that they have fun and be thoughtful.

Blessed - Vent away! This is a safe place to process our thoughts and emotions.

We had a pleasant 3 hours at the craft show & car swap/show. The weather was beautiful as we walked looking at the hundreds of vendor booths. Everyone came home with something. I came home with a decorated blessing box that is set up with 12 monthly cards and 365 cards labeled for each day of the year. There is a part of me that wants to keep it but I will probably give it as a gift. My SHE cards have been digital for so long and I know I won't keep up with a box, but I failed in my resistance to bring it home.

DS13 worked until 9pm last night and will probably do it again tonight. DS14 took the afternoon off to go with us but immediately went back to work when we arrived home. His boss is preparing for a car show tomorrow so DS14 is detailing 3 vintage cars.

Another big batch of work done. When those tree/wire people cut things to uncover the wire, they left a horrible mess. The mess in the front was so they could get their truck back there. The mess in the back was stuff they cut away to get to the wires. A lot of that was up against the outside of our side fence. We could never work with putting it together like that. I started clipping things away and hauling it out to the piles at the road. DH came along as I was done with what I could reach. He brought back his big pole saw and cut things up higher. I hauled some pretty big parts of trees out to the road. What started as a small sized pile today has ended up as a great big pile.

This lot next to us has no house on it, and has not been cleared. It is full of all kinds of trees, a lot of vines that cover everything, and honeysuckle that somebody on the back street had growing and it grew into that lot after they moved away. There was some very big tall pine trees that would have hit our house if they fell. The owner had given us permission to cut them down and we did that but had a lumber truck load them up and haul them away. Now the lot and the next bunch of lots all the way up to the corner is full of trees that have been cut by the cutters but everything is just laying around all tangled up, really it's a grand mess.

I planted what grass I could until I couldn't move around and get up and down and had to stop. That's when I started working on the trees next to our fence. We were out there until it began to get dark. Leftovers for dinner and scrambled eggs. I don't have enough time to cook proper dinners. Seems like the more we work the more jobs there are to do out there. Will we ever be back to normal?
