Finally here…
Made my day to see Elizabeth name pop up. Almost as exciting as my team beating AL congrats on your new job and am really happy for you.
LadyM… if memory serves me you might need your dmil’s death certificate for the social security dept. I asked Sweetie if we needed it for all three of his parents, but he can’t remember.
I was up early to do my morning routines and the went to my exercise class. My dish washed is on the frizzes and when I cam home I could smell something like garbage. Thought the washer worked last night but I could tell by the smell it hadn’t. So I ended up hand washing everything.
Needless to say we went shopping for dishwashers. Went to HD and Lowes and found one, but gonna get on my community fb and ask for recommendations for an appliance shop. We had a great one in Mesa.
After looked at dishwashers we stopped at the grocery store. I have a wine gathering Wednesday night… you can bring anything to drink…and everyone brings something to eat. I bought Brie cheese and crackers for the night. The. I went to the dollar store to find some kind of Halloween plate to put them one.
Back home and put every thing away and now have my feet up.
Waving to y’all

Re: When life gives you Monday PWYC
Monday certainly started slowly around here, but FINALLY... I am s2s and have a second load of laundry started. Plus I s/s 2 of the 3 bathrooms.
Still need to do dh's shower and the guest bath, which needs a little extra time since ds showered there last week. Embarrassing -- I did NOT realize how DUSTY that tub/shower was!!! So after ds showered, there was left a lot of what appears to be WET dust. I'm sure it's dry again by now, though, LOL... so I do plan to get that shower back in a little more presentable shape. Shaking my head...
Still need to iron, but I am hoping to have some time alone in the bedroom for that. I iron best when it's just me, the ironing board, and the DVR. Right now, dh is sleeping on the bed and I'm putting this off. But it has to be done tonight, I think.
Today, after spending some time with dgrands, they are now both with their parents, and I am kinda de-compressing after 3 nights of Nana-duty!
I also scheduled appt for termite inspection (via phone) and ordered ds' birthday cake (in person.)
I wanted to get a photo cake, but Wmart won't do a copyrighted picture... and I wanted to use a photo of Jack Benny, because now they are the same age, you know -- 39.
Decided to just put the picture on the cake and asked them to do the writing on the right hand side, leaving space for the picture.
DS said he wanted pizza, and that would be just as easy to do here as at the restaurant, so we'll be eating here -- which is much more to dh's liking. He is STILL having gout pain and can barely stand to put his shoes on. At least it seems to be settled in one foot now. SIGH. I know HE is the one in pain, but I do have trouble being a patient caregiver. It seems he ALWAYS remembers something he needs from another room JUST at the moment I get involved with something else. And he is sooo picky * SHELDON-ISH * about how and where things are placed, so it gets annoying to try to help him sometimes.
Sooo good to see you checking in, Elizabeth!!! And I am sooo happy for you in your new job, and dd on her own at college!
And another ditto for Harmony... PLEASE find time/make time to take care of yourself in the midst of all this chaos surrounding you!
Waving to EVERYONE!!!

DBroIL got DMIL home. It is a tiny house and has not been well maintained. Years ago, DMIL decided to go ahead and split up the family land so it wouldn't have to be done after her death. Everyone got land plus buildings. Our parcel of land has a big barn on it.What is happening with your DMIL's home
We thought so too but found out SSecurity accepts being notified by the funeral home. We gave DMIL SS # to funeral home and they handled it. That is on SS website so I assume it is customary practice. In most cases, the funeral home will report the person’s death to us. You should give the funeral home the deceased person’s Social Security number if you want them to make the report.death certificate for the social security dept
We went to the city an hour early so I could take DS14 to the clothing store before his appointment. It is a challenge to get DS14 to take off work to go shopping. Today's shopping was a success as he found shoes, belt, wallet, hat, and jewelry. He selected a belt that is personalized so I will go back and get the belt when I'm in the city on Wednesday.
Fall break is over for us so tomorrow we return to school & homeschool.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Re: When life gives you Monday PWYC
Aw, it was nice to read the concern for me. A workaholic assumes others think the same way... but today was different. Helper was here to fix the roof so I sorta knew we wouldn't be working on the fence, plus I had a routine drs. visit. I had planned to go out early and get something for their lunch, then go to the drs. then do a grocery shopping. But I got ready to go and discovered DH had taken the car and I just hate driving around in that dump truck. So I told him he was on his own for lunch. I hate when DH discounts my plans or "forgets" when he has something else he wants to do.
Anyway, that left time to do a load of my clothes and hang them up before I left. I had a hard time finding her new (temporary) office. Finally a maintenance worker got in the car with me and took me there, pointing out the buildings that would be demolished because they were so damaged. I wasn't nervous about this because worker had another worker follow us in his 4-wheeler and they were both workers for the hospital next door. These buildings were all hospital properties. What a mess.
Appointment went well, with both of us telling hurricane stories. Dr. lost her whole office and all her equipment and is now starting over. It was quite the story.
I stopped for a big shopping, first big shopping I've done since the storm. I bought several treats for me, stuff I like to eat, and a little chocolate too. Came home and unloaded and put everything away, ate something, and fell asleep in my chair. Woke when DH was heating up leftovers for his dinner. I guess this all counts for a bit of pampering and a rest, doesn't it?
Course, before DH went to bed, he gave me the synopsis of what needs to get done next and wanted to know if I was going to help. So I guess tomorrow starts the work again. I'd like to set a limit on how much I can do. After all, now I have food to cook.
I worked on my next lesson, I'm one day behind so far.
Nice to see Elizabeth here. Surprised at the changes but they all seem positive so I'm glad for her.
Sweet dreams everyone!
