Thursday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

It's Thursday. All week long somehow I've been ahead on the day of the week. Thought today was going to be Friday and it's not!

Make the most of your week, somehow I feel like I got an extra day.

The board is sluggish right now. Or maybe that's me. I triple posted because it felt slow, then got the extras deleted.

I was thinking all yesterday that the day was Thursday and today was Friday. Now I find I have extra time, lol. I worked upstairs until eight when dh got home. He asked me if I thought that the work I was doing - rewrites, rewords, checking footnotes - would make a difference. I'm not sure it will, but I think I'm not sick enough of it to put it aside and say done. OTOH, at one point yesterday I told dfriend M that I tired of working on it but didn't feel it was up to standards yet. And a friend said that, for her, she had to decide it was going to be imperfect with mistakes and I have such a time accepting that. I have five weeks and a day, supposedly I will finish case study this week, KDP in the following two weeks, leaving me three weeks for additional proofing and review of rubrics.

Good morning Twins!

At this point the boards are running fine for me, not sluggish.

I'm distracted.

"Mentally" I moved to the UK during Covid because it was easier to handle their news than mine because it doesn't affect me directly. Today is a big news day there so I'm distracted by that. There isn't time for analysis from the podcasts I listen to so I'm reading instead. Which means I'm not doing anything else.

The Guardian also had this photo article today so I'm sharing it with you, hoping it puts a smile on your faces as well.

The fall colours are still amazing, it is the longest we've had vibrant colours for years. The summer weather affects the fall colours and this year we had enough rain to help the trees put on an extended show, even if it was a bit late starting.

I solved Wordle in 3 by not rushing which is another good thing.

I removed my cushion from my chair because it is now too lumpy and I note I'm not typing at the right angle so will have to solve that issue.

And get dressed.

So I'm off now to get something done. Maybe while listening to the BBC news live.

This afternoon we have our concert for the seniors so that fills in the rest of the day. The plan is to pick up a chicken from Costco on the way home so dinner is planned as well.

Kathryn, I had to google the references to lettuce this a.m. to find out what it was about.

I was up in the nite too wound up to sleep so I did the dishes.
Dealt with a slight low in the nite.
Set up a notebook and changed out the disc on it.
Up at 7:30.
One arm is a bit sore this morning.
Putting away dishes is good to move it and reach up and put that stuff in the cupboard.
Took Rx.

Glad my new nite shirt has pockets.
Fall colors have not arrived here yet or just slightly.
I walked the dog and fueled the 1st rig.
I had lunch.

Pruned the suckers from under the purple leaf plum tree.
Got the limbs picked up and in the can for pick up next week.
Feeling okay today not super but I will take it after the shots I had yesterday.
Got my bedroom vacuumed yea!
Waving to everyone!

Good morning, everybody! Had an almost decent night's sleep. No matter what I don't seem to be able to do more than 5 3/4 hours. Know I need more.

Dh was just in and has a few more sites to 'read' out and then he's done working for the day. Has things he wants to get done here.

I've been spending my morning trying to figure out what/when/how I need to do everything for the next week. In that week I need to figure out 4 dates to meet up with people. How is it we're at the very end of the year again and I need to fit all these in? I was going to try for my Covid booster before we leave but I don't see how to fit it in and get it in so if I have a reaction. Oh well, guess it'll wait until I'm in FL.

Dneighbor brought dh 3 1/liter bottles of quinine water yesterday. We have the 'best' neighbors. He's trying that to see if it helps his cramps. I see his lab results are back and I don't really see anything in there that would be causing his cramping. Still waiting for his lab requisition for his testing to be sure the H pylori infection is out of his system. Have to figure out the dates for that (it'll be after we get to FL) as he has to stop taking one med for 14 days prior to the test. I almost think his last dose is to be Saturday. At this point my brain is already fried.

Arrgghh! I'm getting bleary-eyed trying to find a suitable motel for these guys to stop south of Pittsburgh a week from Saturday. Think I'll leave it to dd -she's so much better at this than I am. I'll give her our card # and she can make the reservation for them. Figure if they leave here by 2:30 on the 29th they should be able to easily get south of Pittsburgh (she says hopefully). Though I see it's supposed to be rainy that day most of the way to Pitt. So we'll see what they want to do I guess.

We must all be super busy today! I'm still upstairs working, and hoping to "finish" this thing this week, i.e. tomorrow.

We're eating out, I expect dh to call soon saying he's leaving work. I need to put on decent shoes and I'll meet him there.

Just popping in -- I think I am party-ready. DS is picking up pizzas and everyone should be here in a couple hours.
I made cookies (because ds says I never make them when it's not an "occasion" for something/someone else. These are just the ordinary Pillsbury rolls of chocolate chip dough, with pecans added.) I also think his cake turned out well. Since Wmart wouldn't do an icing picture from a copyrighted image, I just printed a picture of Jack Benny, cut it in a circle to fit the left half of the cake, and put it on top. Then I put a little icing border around it that matches the cake, and I think ds will be surprised and LOL when he sees it. Y'all stay tuned...

Right now, I have a bit of a headache. Flu shot? I don't know. We both got our flu shots today, but not Covid. DH says he is finished with the Covid shot... it made him sick last time and he's not taking another one. So... I am hesitating about getting mine. Plus, I thought, if I get them at the same time and I have a reaction, I won' t know which shot caused it. So I may go back in a few weeks, or I may not.

DH has made it pretty well today; he is napping right now, however. He woke up a couple hours before I did, and he needed his pain medicine so he went ahead and ate breakfast then.
After I s2s, we went to town and paid the property tax, got our shots, and got the cake and some plates/napkins, etc.
Dgrands are on their way here right now. I'll try to ci and cuop later.
Tomorrow is another day.
