Good morning!

I just finished ordering school pictures of DGS15 and DGD11. Having the school pictures online makes it easy for family members to order what they want. I sometimes forget how easy things are to do online. DSis and DSisIL told me yesterday they have never ordered anything online. They have never bought one item from Amazon, etc. I tried to imagine how I would get things done if I didn't have the ease and convenience of things being delivered to my door. The first difference I thought of is It would mean spending hours shopping IRL stores and driving many more miles. But maybe more important to me is the ease of comparing items, reading reviews, and comparing prices. If I didn't shop online, then my shopping would be whatever I found in our local store at whatever price they set. Another difference for me is when I shop IRL I always impulsively buy things that aren't on my list. I buy & spend more when I shop IRL.

Nothing is on the calendar today except an invitation to eat lunch at a local place.

I have another corner selected to remove everything, deep clean, declutter and return only items that support its purpose.

I don't know what's in store for today but I'm hoping for a quiet day. There's nothing on the calendar, and we're having a friend over (former neighbor from the mountain) for dinner tomorrow night. We ended up with a fire outside last night and dneighbor across the street and dfriend M came over (w R uby!) So we hung out until 9:30 ish. I went to bed early after that. Yep, dh just couldn't stand not having someone over last night.

I need to get moving, didn't get up until nearly nine. I smell like smoke too, so could use a shower this a.m.

I'm with you LadyM. I showed dh recently how to renew his auto tags online. It was a revelation not to have to go to the county courthouse or outlying offices.

I think most people feel that they are "supposed" to be busy - not taking time to regroup. It's just as important. I know I feel guilty to intentionally put time aside to read etc. I never plan for it and I should.

The last couple days have been busy but a loss for me all the same.
I will force myself outside today as that has been on the list for the whole week. it will be 70 today!

I have been following the organized Christmas from dawn and Diana - they only did videos and they have an online work sheet. I pretty much know the score but it's nice to know other people are thinking or working on it at the same time.

I finished my Christmas planning basics. not the nitty gritty of what meals I will bring etc.

I used dawn's and dana's download from 5 days to an organized Christmas - it doesn't mean 5 days but they discussed the holidays, grief etc.
I do like the download though.

questions I mostly answered:
1. setting up holiday intentions and perspectives
2. goals simply done
3. gift giving and Christmas cards - menu plan -budget - what needs to be on the calendar
4. what do you want to do less of
5. keep what traditions you want to do this year

don't over- goal.

Planning ahead has always been good to me - at first I over-goaled and now I pick and choose what is important to me.

Put faith in the holiday -
celebrate the simple
plan simply so I can actually stay where Christmas should be for me.
family time - not stressful - just simple (asking family what is important to them). - pick and choose - I want to have my family enjoy the holiday season together.
do a kindness
thank you cards to the police, fire department, city etc. extended family- I am trying to make this a tradition
shopping done early - told the girls already - dh is the hardest.
read or listen to a Christmas story and a devotional.
fire with family while watching it's a wonderful life - I love to play games but my family isn't into it anymore. we usually see neighborhood lights before doing this.
easy or Pre made meals
this year for my sis in laws - make my ginger bread people, make a little decorating kit and drop them off if they want to do with their grandkids and family.
purposely put time aside for rest.

I want less of:
last minute shopping or running around
going over budget
no door dash or fast food
less computer time and more meaningful time - put it in drawer.

Autumn leaves
red, gold and brown
falling, swirling
drifting down

Prickly conkers,
cracking, popping,
branches snap
acorns dropping

Picking pumpkins
juicy apples too
gathering blackberries
in hedgerows for you.

Foggy mornings,
Damp, cold and gray
Nature's blanket
clouding the day

shorter days
frosty and wet
winters around the corner
but not quite yet.

Today was warm enough (barely) to have my complete tea and chocolate on the balcony. The wind is from the south these days which means the air is still for me. It was still below 50 but it is 'soft' outside (I suppose more humid) so it feels warmer than it is and my fuzzy bathrobe and furry slippers were warm enough.

I got an email written and sent while out there so that's one item off my to-do list. And I'm now s2s (although my hair is still wet) and have eaten my breakfast. Although, I see it is 11:40 so while those feel like an accomplishment, perhaps they aren't!

We found out that we are to pick up dgs1.5 between 6 and 7 so we now have the full day to ourselves. Bonus! Ds and TG are going to a wedding but dgs was invited too so we are picking him up after the dinner (in theory, at least he will have been fed.)

Looking at my dining room table paperwork piles and my bullet journal, I know what the focus of the day will be.

Yesterday I set up a nook that I am calling "The 4 generation corner". It has chairs selected by the women in the last 4 generations. I need to get DD11 and/or DGD11 to select a chair they like so it can become "The 5 generation corner". The chairs are arraigned in a rough circle, so they face each other. Multiple times a day someone comes to sit & talk with me when I am in my recliner. So I decided to design a space and designate that area for that purpose.

Today's corner cleanout is in the garage. I haven't decided its purpose yet so I don't know how it will turn out.

I am struggling to change areas - I have gotten so used to being in the house that I am struggling to push myself outside to work even though I love it.
I need some Franny release glue!
