I love your corner cleanouts, LadyM. Such a good idea. I think my corners are all designated to stuff for their purpose. Maybe I don't have as many corners as you do?
It's been quiet here today. Last evening I folded clothes and put them away. Washed DH's work clothes and hung them up by the moonlight. A lot of evening chores took care of today's morning things.
DH called and he didn't sound good. He said he was up at 3:30, he'd had about 6 hrs sleep then got up because he had things to do. I suspect he's working too hard. He went out to see someone who called and mostly gave him names and advice. It was stuff he can't do any more. He went to a store and ordered a lot of reinforcing bars for the posts of the fence. He thinks these will keep this from ever happening again to our fence. I'm not so sure, but it's important to him to try because this is a lot of work to repair and he says he doesn't ever want to do this again. It's going to add about $1500 to our fence cost. He's sure he can't ever do this much work again, because he's very slow working and I've never seen him struggling so hard to do things like this.
I know I've slowed down and can't do what I used to. This work is taking us twice as long as it used to.
He is sleeping in his chair. I am being quiet in the house so he can rest. He got up and we made some lunch but he went back to nap again. It's a bit scary to see this. But I'm fine with resting, we've been working very very hard. If I go outside and start working, he'll come out and I think he just needs to rest so I'm staying inside.
Paid a couple bills today. Had to wade through all the emails to find one of the bills. Found an email in there I need to answer too.
Since it's quiet I worked on my study. I am ahead a couple weeks. I'm trying to get ahead so I can stop around Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks to give extra time to what else needs done.
Kathryn reminded me I had a candle I used during the storm that was orange spice (clove?) and when I'd come in that room it would make me smile. I have to replace the candles I burned down during the storm and will be replacing, so I'll look for one of them, I really liked it. I have an orange spice tea I like too. Guess I like that scent and taste! When Sunny was here I'd gotten out the pumpkin spice soap and lotion for the kitchen and she liked it. I put it away when she left and when she comes again I'll get it out and she can use it.

I'm not a fan of scented candles, most seem to strong for me. I did used to like to burn a little candle in the kitchen while cooking. Perhaps should try again.

Re: PWYC Saturday Edition
I used to burn scented candles but stopped because having little ones & furkids around an open flame (burning candle) makes me nervous. I like that the wax is melted by the heat from light bulb. I most likely will only use wax melts during the winter because of the warmth factor.
I finished decluttering and cleaning today's corner. Its purpose has been established so things to support that purpose have been added and everything that doesn't fit that purpose has been removed. It looks neat and clean now. I thought about painting the walls & briefly wanted to continue cleaning but made myself stop.

Re: PWYC Saturday Edition
I just got back from a walk, half with dh (then I turned back and freed him to walk at his pace.) I like my new poles.
Had a long chat with a resident who called at supper time on Thursday in a panic because of water coming into her apartment and the emergency number not working. I hate to hand out direct phone numbers to the supers but had to because someone in the office forgot to put the office line on forward to the super-on-duty's cell phone. We texted our super and he wasn't on duty so he gave us the number of the other super.
The problem was a washer leaking above. At first I thought it was an illegal one but in fact it is an apartment like mine with a washer/dryer supplied. Apparently an old pipe gave way in the wall and so the water pumped out into the other resident's apartment, instead of down the drain. I was curious as to whether or not it was something I needed to watch out for, but there's no way for me to know if the problem is in the wall.
Before the walk, I got the bills paid and one of the bank accounts reconciled (4 months). I need to start dinner in 90 minutes so there's time for 3 more blocks of paperwork.

Re: PWYC Saturday Edition
I’ve joined LadyM in rearranging furniture. Spent part of my morning doing so with my lanai. Like it much better this way, and it should be great in the winter because the main seating area is against the wall and will be sheltered against the wind. Looking forward to drinking my morning coffee out there once the weather cools and it will be a wonderful place for reading my books in the afternoons.
Harmony… I don’t know about you but the mosquitoes around here are awful. I am a mosquito magnet so I had to cover myself with bug spray before I could work in my lanai. I killed more than 40 of them with my bug spray before deciding enough is enough.
I researched homemade mosquito yard repellent and found one made with vinegar and water. I added some of my body bug spray to it and sprayed all around the areas that the mosquitos were congregating. Seems to be working at the moment, but I’m anxious to see what happens at dusk
I have mountains of laundry to fold. I did most of it while working around the house and just put
the dry things on my couch. Not something I usually do, it I was busy vacuuming the house, giving Fred a clean home and bleaching Sweeties shower. Now I’m watching TN play while folding clothes so I’m very content.
I don’t even want to think about Cmas yet. The older Sweetie and I get, the less we stress over it. Course I have 2 grandkids to buy for along with 3 grand nieces and nephews not to mention my 4 nieces, nephews and their spouses but I solved that by sending them Starbucks gift cards.
Since my mom is no longer capable of doing her normal gifts to the family I’ve sort of taking over for her.
I found my moms treasured grandmothers cook books that she has been fretting over and when I was home was able to tell her they were no longer lost. I am thinking of putting some of those recipes in a cookbook and giving them to all of her grandkids. Several years ago my mom asked to make cook books for them using all her favorite recipes that all of the kids loved.
Back to attacking my laundry piles…waving to y’all

Re: PWYC Saturday Edition
After lunch check in;
Bed is made.
Sun is out it has stopped raining.
Dressed to slippers.
Processed mail.
45* out not sure I am up to much of a walk today might be a good day for stat bike.
LucyL. asked about my writing might be of interest to you and others.
More journaling.
I have been doing nonorimo [natl. novel writing mo.] I do not write fiction but the tips are helpful for me to work on focused
projects like my journal jar for a prayer journal from a book I read last summer and did not do the writing part.
I started a dream journal this week, it is more of a one line log than a journal.
One year I processed feeling from LH passing and it was very helpful so decided to continue with various writing endeavors.
This year more of a mental health focus ~ for example how I survived the pandemic was a journaling topic one day last week.
Very insightful to look back and reflect.
I am trying to gear up for a health log / food diet / Rx as some changes this week I need to pay attn. to after my Dr. visit.

Re: PWYC Saturday Edition
RRose, we are all talking about the mosquitos up here. They are absolutely horrible and we are in and out of the house so often with all this work outside that they get in the house too. When I was doing all the raking outside it was worse. Standing water just is places for them to breed and lay eggs. We are all wondering where the county spray trucks have been. I've been all eaten up. It seems a bit better right now. Our porches do not have screening so when it's dusk we come inside. People who live near the water or canals use a special screening that keeps out the no-see-ums.
We've finished the majority of the hard work on the fence. Took out 2 more damaged posts and replaced. We straightened (pulled with our lawn tractor and straps) 2 more posts. We started to put the reinforcing in the posts and got a couple done. Then our neighbor came over and helped with the last 4 or so because he can lift them up over his head and DH was having to do them from up high on a ladder. It was so nice to have his help for a little bit. They have a fence to repair also but they're waiting for their insurance company to come because theirs is covered. Nothing outside of our house was covered. It is unusual for insurances to cover fences.
The rest of our reinforcing will be here next Saturday. In the meantime we can work on the top pieces and slats. I feel tired just thinking of all that. We gathered up all our tools and have them up on the porch.
Time for dinner.

Re: PWYC Saturday Edition
Thanks for sharing about your writing, Nancy!
I’ve kinda wanted to try that Nano writing challenge… I don’t know if I’d be able to stick with it or not.
Lately it seems I can’t stick with ANYTHING!!!
I’m very frustrated with myself, really. I can’t get back in my exercise routine, my housekeeping routine is non-existent… I’m just totally a slug here lately.
Considering taking Provitalize. It’s supposed to help with weight gain, lack of energy, etc. It’s probably a scam, right?
Dh is over the gout, but now has severe lower abdominal/pelvic pain. Will NOT go to do.
Sigh.
