I was in turmoil about what to do with DS14 Math. What we were doing wasn't teaching in the way he understands and was just overwhelming him. When DS14 gets overwhelmed, he loses confidence & becomes frustrated and starts to hate learning. I want to keep DS14 eager to learn so I switched gears and went a different direction. Thankfully, there are dozens of excellent curriculums available, so it is just a matter of finding the right one for DS14. We are now using a combination of two Algebra curriculums because each one has different strengths that are valuable to his learning style. I have his daily Algebra lessons planned through Dec 3rd and am feeling good about the change.

We are getting some rain! It has rained an inch in the last 12 hours so it is coming down slowly. We need many inches of rain to catch up to our normal.

Wondering what CathyS menu is today. I need ideas. I am considering making meatloaf or spaghetti for the family.

Think we finally got dh's winterizations for this afternoon worked out so he doesn't have to do them. He knows he's really not capable. His helper is coming early and doing them on his own. Means the last one will be later than they wanted but they're very agreeable. (Thanks for all your prayers. Just want to find out what's what and hopefully get it taken care of.) Now to wait until time to leave about 3:15. Think I'll go wash my hair so that's at least presentable.

Did manage to get our dishes done. Also changed into my jeans for longer pants -JIC we end up going to the hospital. Know how cold it gets in there. Trying so hard to let all the "what if's" run through my brain at this point.

Back from Bible study it was just an hr. very effiecient. I like that.
Got the veg. soup prepped for my lunch with some other things.
Raining so I got the other rig out to get a free rinse off.

LadyM today's menu consists of leftover beef stew. I might take a package of frozen butter chicken out to see how it tastes. We bought one on Saturday to try and they are on sale this week, so IF I'm going to get any more, I need to taste it.

I did a lot of raking and then shredding of leaves - mixed it with manure and worm castings and put it on the shredded leaves.
dh cleaned up the inside yard with out me asking, put away the hoses for winter, and cleaned the outside door - it was so nice. I normally do this and I don't have to.

next clip down the rest of the Hosta's and other things that need clipping. (note to self - put a sign up for landscapers - do not cut down as I am leaving some things for creatures. I also don't want them to rake all my leaves that I mulched down.)

A little frustrated with ordering - I found out the one doll I ordered didn't show it was from China - I thought it was from the states- I have no idea when I will get it and if it's going to be junky. I bought it for my great niece. I might have to look for something else as I wanted it sooner or later. I am surprised there is no law that makes the companies show where they are shipping from. (especially with flower seeds).

hi d lady - dd younger used to get frustrated with English - we still say F doesn't mean failure - it means figuring out a way to learn it. praying you find the right path that will help your ds to understanding.
praying for rain that is just right for your areas needs.

d harmony it's good you two took a nap. Sometimes it's just needed. praying for continued healing for your d friends.

Looking in, hoping for a report from Dee, hoping they're not admitting Mr. Dee to the hospital right now.

Frustrating day. Lots more to do on this report than I remembered, and some of the family history center digital film organization has changed, or has it? I'm frustrated that what I put down as the image number when I wrote the citation doesn't hold up now.... (I need a pulling my hair out smilie...)

Dh asked again whether I looked for the booklet on the fireplace (pilot light is out) and I haven't. And somehow, I left the stovetop on low all day. Thank goodness I didn't burn anything down. And I didn't do anything about sending back the stools for the kitchen counter "bar." I did, however, get my phone working with the hearing aid and scheduled my car maintenance. And bought milk. Eye rolling vigorously.

I cooked myself two small meals - shrimp/asparagus and liver/onions. The family is eating spaghetti & meat sauce.

It is a rare time when DD11 needs my help with school. She is struggling with understanding decimal multiplication. Her teacher showed the class how to do these types of problems on the board today but somehow it didn't *click* with DD11. We did one of her problems together (apples are $3.45 a pound and purchased 1.79 lbs. How much is owed?) and it was fun to watch the light bulb of understanding happen.

I'm going to Monday night study group @DFriends home. It is a 9-minute drive through the country so the 1-hour study and drive will take less than 1.5 hours of my evening.

I'm back finally. Still haven't had time to eat dinner. Been making arrangements for the most part and advising people who needed to know what's going on. When the Dr came in after dh's EKG he said, "Well, you hit the nail right on the head! You're back in Afib". He had cardioversion done about 4 weeks ago and did really well for a few weeks. He goes back in the hospital Thursday morning for a 2nd cardioversion. But, Dr is also putting him on Amiodarone which, once it builds up in his system, is supposed to keep him in rhythm. He knows he's done working for the year. He's tried to hide what was happening but it was all to obvious. His winterizing 'helper' finished the 3 he had today and will do the 4 tomorrow. A neighbor across the street is coming Friday to winterize us. Our DS-R is coming (very early) Thursday morning and driving us to the hospital. Have to be there before 6am. I just can't drive after dark, especially in and across the city. At least it shouldn't be raining like it was when we went last month. Unfortunately our insurance isn't real great about what they'll pay the hospital. So, between the time he was in last month, the hospital for his Endoscopy and another hospital which he was in a couple times back in June. But we'll get them paid before too long I think.

Thank you for your thoughts/prayers. We sure can use them right now.
