Got a better handle on bs that is a relief.
Have herb bread rising.

Lack of good rest may be effecting my mood.

Some good news - walk around the block helped.
They are going to put gutter covers on this afternoon.

The waiting room has been very nice, though I haven't had time to partake as yet. In a few minutes. I posted a rather lengthy post in J&C so you can look there if you'd like to see what's happening. For now we're both here and dh is sleeping. But as you will see not sleeping off anesthesia but all the other side effects he's having right now -extremely foggy/dizzy/lightheaded. I'm making him use my cane inside for the rest of the day.

Okay, guess I'll go have my 'breakfast' now that it's 12:30.

I want to work at the same time I don't want to work inside. I just have to do the old rocket ship - bc I can't seem to get myself started! 5-4-3-2-1!!!

Good morning!

I have kept myself focused on getting things done and tried to limit my sidetracking. So far today I have -
** Routines 1, 2, 4 & 5 completed
** DD11 to school. She went back to sleep this morning which used up 25 minutes of her get ready for school time. Does she have too much time allocated to getting ready? We need to chat about this and make some changes.
** DS14 homeschool assignments have been completed. The changes I made to the Math curriculum have been a tremendous success. It is challenging him but not overwhelmingly. His confidence is growing, and he is becoming excited about learning again.
** Selected a corner, decided its purpose, removed everything 6' in all directions from that corner, deep cleaned it, then put things that match the purpose in its space. Everything else was decluttered.
** Spent some time in the garden. I continued in the effort of planting garlic bulbs in the raised bed.

Today's activities -
** 2pm appt in the city to get new tires on the SUV. DH has volunteered to take care of this. I wanted to trade vehicles instead of putting tires on this one, but I can't find a newer vehicle like this one and nothing else interests me.
** 3:30 - DD11 from school. This is another one of those days that 3 vehicles are in use at the same time.
** 6pm - Dinner & playing Dizzy Bridge at DFriends home. I'll pick up a friend on my way there to ride with me.

OMM from last night -
** I didn't win the chili contest (but I did come in 5th place and got a tiny trophy) . It was an enjoyable time of fellowship, and I am already looking forward to next year chili cookoff.
** DH didn't arrive home until 8:30pm from taking DSisIl to the city for her medical appt. DSisIL received a preliminary report from doctor that she has advanced colon cancer and will need to have colon removed. They do not have biopsy results, so this is not confirmed. This was not the news they wanted to hear but no one was surprised by it. DSisIL has always chosen to live a lifestyle that doesn't promote health, struggles to walk 20 feet and is about 150lb overweight. I don't know what this news means for DH future (which affects me). DH is going to have to decide how much time/effort/money he wants to give to taking care of his sister. He just finished years of caregiving for his DMom, is he going to do the same for his sister?

Glad to see Dee reporting over in J&C. Will keep the prayers for Mr. Dee going.

LadyM what a decision to have to make, especially so soon after dMIL's passing. I took care of my sister because her son had not done what he should have done. Is there anyone else for your dsil? It's so hard.

She has a son and daughter that live nearby. Her single son works 60-80 hours and is the primary caregiver to his two high need young boys (about 7 & 10 years old). One of the boys doesn't speak and both are under the care of specialists. DNephew is an amazing young man and one of my favorite people but he won't be able to give DSisIL the help she will need.
DSisIL and her daughter don't speak to each other. DSisIL has forbidden her daughter from stepping foot on her property. DNeice is married to a man with no legs so he needs her help on a continual basis. DNeice is also raising 2 young girls (8 & 11 year old).
DSisIL doesn't have any friends (that I know about) and has alienated most of her family. She has been married several times, but they all ended in nasty divorces. She continues to do the online dating apps, but I have only heard of single dates (not second/follow-up date).
DH chooses to keep a relationship with his sister, but they are so different that it isn't easy.

I worked quite a while outside - I moved stones and need to get more to create a path.
racked a bunch of bags of leaves - I could have shredded them but I don't have any dirt or compost to mix with them (it keeps the shredded leaves from moving in the wind). I also raked up a bunch of pine needles from my neighbors tree behind us. .
blew out some things -until I had to charge the blower again.
cans are out in front.

went to bank: got cash for dh to pay him back for an errand he did for me
and to get the money for one of my d Sil's who has thanksgiving every year. She had 40 people last year. Every little bit helps so that she isn't burdened with the cost of Thanksgiving.

dd older landed in Florida and dd younger picked her up.

skippable garden chatter....
I ran out of my freshly prepared squash to use for mini-meals so I went to the garden. Instead of just harvesting a couple summer squash today, I decided to pull up one of the squash plants since it is close to the end of the season. I typically harvest 2-3 squash at a time. Today when I pulled the plant up and turned it over, I harvested 27 squash from that ONE squash plant! Many of the squash are small but still....that squash plant must have been talking to the overachiever tomato plant on the other side of the garden. I've never seen anything like it. The weird thing is I didn't have space for this plant but since I had grown it indoors from a seed, I didn't want to throw it away. So with just a tiny chance of success, I crammed it into the strawberry bed. This squash plant was surrounded by strawberry plants and had to fight for room, water, nutrients.

I had 2 hours all to myself this afternoon. Home alone...well except for 3 rabbits, 2 dogs and a cat. The quiet and calmness of being home alone is such a change that it feels like a treat. I leave in 15 minutes to get DD11 from school so my time alone is almost over.

(((LadyM))) Oh my goodness... what a difficult decision for LordM to have to face so soon after losing his dmom. I am praying for some sort of solution to appear that works for all of you. Dsisil's children certainly do seem to have their hands full, even if their relationship with their mom was wonderful, which obviously is not the case at all.

Congrats on placing in the chili cook-off, though!

I don't think I had any ta-das at all yesterday, but today, I can say I have
* reconciled bank statement/checkbook
* typed recommendation for dcousin's wife for scholarship
* ran errands to drug store and bank
* talked to dmom on phone.

Kathryn -- I meant to tell you -- dermatologist recommended Eucerin Excema body wash and lotion for dgs. (Along with putting him on Dupixent shots.) We're only a week in on this, so can't tell you how any of this is working yet.

DGS has some sort of stomach thing going on. Threw up Sunday night, went to school Monday, had good day... had good day Tuesday, dismissed at 11:45 for storms... threw up Tuesday night, stayed home Wed... threw up last night, stayed home today... seems to feel better today. He's not throwing up a LOT, and has no fever. DS says he doesn't seem to be worried about anything going on at school, although he did seem happy to be home playing video games -- until ddil put a stop to that and said he couldn't do that all day.
Y'all know, I just worrying that something is going on that hits him at night when he starts thinking about the next day. (Because sooo often that has been my own experience with nervous stomach and anxiety!)

We will have dgrands for a few hours tonight. We are going to drive to my dad's old high school -- or rather the ruins of the school -- they have torn it down, and I am going to get a brick from the building if there are any left. I have a brick from the old high school my dmom and dinlaws attended, along with two from the old theater in our town. My maternal dgfather laid the brick on the theater.
After we do that, we plan to go on and eat seafood at a place that is soooo good, but kinda out of the way. We'll be halfway there when we get to ddad's school. I am just hoping the seafood is okay for dgs' tummy!

College Town tomorrow, provided dgrands are able to go. Hoping for the best...

Dr Google says that stomach pain, nausea, vomiting are side effects of Dupixent. I noticed he started that med recently and wonder if it is the cause of recent stomach issue. Feel free to roll your eyes and ignore this thought because the number of medical degrees I have (ABSOLUTELY NONE).

I have my steps in for the day. I'm almost ready to leave for the evening of food & fellowship with lady friends.
