Hello, everyone!!!

I have done a big N O T H I N G today. Which is really an exact repeat of yesterday. Once I got all the laundry done PLUS the bathrooms s/s on Monday, I must have called in lazy for the rest of the week.

However, I still have high hopes for today -- plan to seriously get some dusting done, because I cannot actually remember when it was done last, and I'm pretty sure info on my 3x5 is incorrect. (Hope so, anyway. But whether correct or not, it's obvious that a lot of flat surfaces could use a little time with a Swiffer or a dust cloth!)

Estrogen. Hmmm... I am taking a small dose of Estrogen and Progesterone. One pill for each. I'm kinda nervous about them, re: breast cancer, but since I took birth control pills till I was waaay past menopause, I guess this is less risky than those were. Doctor says it is anyway. I do have my mammogram each year and do self-exam monthly. He has changed my dosage once because I was having some break-through bleeding. That really scared me, and the vaginal ultrasound he ordered REALLY scared me (y'all may remember how I panicked over THAT!) -- but the change in dosage solved that problem completely and I've been fine since.
I was afraid to go off birth control because dmom had always said she could tell immediately if she ran out of her estrogen pills, and I was nervous about changing any hormonal medications, since I already have such issues with anxiety (and have been taking Paxil for 20 years).
So. Maybe the Paxil and the estrogen is why I am so lazy and sleepy all the time (although I don't think I "zone out" like you are talking about, Kathryn).
Another reason I am lazy and sleepy, I am pretty sure, has to do with the habit I have developed of eating a frosted cinnamon pop-tart every morning with my breakfast of peanut butter crackers and a banana.
I really do need to work on my eating habits, I know.

Speaking of which... I JUST got back from town -- went to bank to get cash so I could get dh's request for supper -- greasy spoon hamburgers.
While I was out, renter called and wanted to pay rent, so now I need to go BACK to the bank to deposit her cash.
I think I am going to get myself a pizza for supper. Not the healthiest option, I'm sure, but I'll have leftovers for the weekend.
Tomorrow is another day.

Desk Day here.

I thought I had redeemed a box of never-used non-writing old-ish ink pens (bic type) with a method on you tube but it only lasted a while, and they were back to not writing. So, I don't get to come in with a recommendation (except throw them away and don't waste time).

I did save the rubber finger grips and a couple caps, because the junk drawer just isn't cluttered enough yet. I thought about saving a few barrels, because years ago I saw on tv that a man's life had been saved by cutting into his neck and he could then breathe through the barrel of a pen. HRH said we'd have to go to school a long time to learn how to use pen barrels for surgery, so I only saved one - in case there was a doctor in the house at the exact moment, you know. Would hate to have wasted it.

We're making spaghetti sauce. HRH finally realized what I've known - he really doesn't need the purchased sauce as a base anymore.

Desk Day today will spill over into tomorrow. I did make the mail with what was leaving, though. Need to order stamps.

ROFLOL at Harriet’s not-cluttered-enough junk drawer — AND the surgical tools she wisely saved!

Woo-hoo for me — WHB dusting is done. Main rooms of house = approximately 30-35 minutes.

Also some time spent texting with teacher group. Some apparently hate group texts. I remove them from list when they let me know. Others send me supportive messages to let me know complainers are silly. It’s an interesting group.
Tomorrow is another day.

Harriet, think of me when you use those finger things. I sure need a couple of those right now. Does anybody ever watch how often you use your index finger when typing? I am having quite the time typing right now.

I've had quite a few mishaps with all this work the past month. Today's was the worst of all. DH came in and wanted help working on the gate, the last part of the fence that needs constructive work. So I went out there and held it steady while he put some bolts into parts, then we carried it over to its spot and attempted to attach it. Find the hinges are very powerful spring-loaded things with sharp corrugated edges up along the whole length of them. Long things that get put into a tube shaped thing is the best way I can describe them. I got the first one in the tube, then attempted the top one while DH was at the other side of the gate. I was fitting it into the tube and DH must have shoved it forward a bit and wham it went into it's tube and slammed into place...with my index finger in between. I lost a chunk off that little pad we all have right on the index finger, the part we type with. Man did it bleed.

I ran screaming into the house and left a trail of blood outside and inside. I now have gauze pad and tape around it and keep having to backspace a lot here because it hits two keys at once... so I'm sure I could have figured out how to do stuff with it wrapped up, but I am miffed about the whole thing and took the day off. Sat all day and pouted. I'm just a baby about getting hurt. I hope it heals without loss of feeling.

Tomorrow will be a better day, I hope.

We're getting a rain right now. At least it's not a hurricane. We need rain, the grass in the back yard is showing some stress and turning yellow.

Harmony: I fully support your day off to pout. I had a really bad run over the summer and each time something happened I'd cry and cry because I was so tired of being injured over and over.

Dh apparently wasn't done his breakfast when he went to the office and shut the door. I know, silly me for thinking otherwise. After all it was past 12:30 as well.

Anyway, the rest of the house blessing got done. And he missed out on toast because the kitchen floor was drying. Tough.

I cooked an amazing chicken dinner. It is orange herb chicken with potatoes. I got it into the oven, then we went for a walk and came home to a wonderful smelling apartment.

After dinner I listened to the rest of the day's testimony at our Emergency Act Inquiry. Back when Ottawa was occupied, the federal government enacted the Emergency Act to allow the policing powers required to break up the occupation and stop blockades happening at the borders. The law requires a public inquiry as to whether it was required and to report within about a year. So the hearings are happening now. At times it is hard to relive the occupation. Other times it is just depressing as it was a complete derelict of duty by our city police department and multiple police informants were feeding the plans to the occupiers as well as sabotaging policing attempts from within. At this point, I think the EA needed to be declared because it was required to impose policing on the city since the local force was in chaos. There's another few weeks of testimony but today was one of the highlight days with the most "Alex Jones-like" of the occupiers on the stand. He didn't disappoint and they had to stop the testimony and throw out his supporters who were disrupting the testimony.
