HALLELUIA! Dh called a short while ago and the attending Dr was in and they are discharging him tonight! Know he has a very long way to go toward recovery but it is step #1 in this process. He's to see our cardiologist tomorrow at 3:15. We will then know if he has permission to fly Thursday. Things are finally beginning to move a little. Dfriend is coming to the hospital to pick up dh once they truly discharge him. He did ask attending dr about the fact that he doesn''t think he's getting his full round(s) of fluid pills. For whatever reason Dr told him not to let Cardiologist change it -at least right now I guess. ???? abound about that. But maybe he can clarify when he sees him tomorrow. Dh is so anxious to get out of there. Hoping it all goes smoothly.

Now for something that nobody but us (and now you) knows. DD had a brainer today and looked to see. There's a flight on F rontier leaving Orlando Thursday at 6am, getting into Rochester at 9:02. As far as we can determine it's the same plane that dh is flying down here on. She wants to fly up and be able to fly back with him. Of course this all depends on cardiologist saying he can go. I was afraid they were 2 different planes and if hers was delayed at all it wouldn't work. But, she should get in, get off the plane and wait with dh to reboard. Airline did notify us yesterday that they had assigned him a seat????? I don't why as he's wheelchair (and totally so now). They put him in row 18, middle row. That definitely will not work. So we'll try contacting them after dh lets us know if he can fly. He needs to be able to stand a bit and be able to get to the bathroom. So, hoping that someone bigger than us is moving mountains.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

(((Dee & DH)))) So glad your case is settled, and it is looking possible for your DH to join you soon.

I placed an online order for Chickfila and picked it up in a nearby town. Their food truck comes once a week for 3 hours and they always have a long line. I didn't have to stand in line since I had placed the online order. We have an extra kid here for supper, so getting this food made it easier to feed the teenagers.

I have 10 out of 12 hourly step goals accomplished and should be able to get the last 2 done if I don't get sidetracked. I will exceed 10k steps again today. The only time I've been anywhere today is to pick up the food so 99% of the steps have been accomplished inside our home.

I have started watching Three Pines. I'm liking it so far. Thanks for sharing about it.

I am soooo sooooo glad to hear that Mr. Dee is making progress towards getting back to you, Dee! Sounds like mountains are already moving, and I will continue to be praying for you both!

TA DAs for today:
1. Got bar-b-que ordered. Price is $13 higher this year, compared to last.
2. Safely delivered dmom to surgeon's office, her staples were removed, surgeon released her, and we returned home.
That was enough for the day. About a 45-min drive each way, plus over an hour wait for the appt. They told us to arrive at 12:45 for 1:15 appt. It was after 2:15 when he came in the room. He was in the room for a few minutes and I was back home at 3:15.
She is still pretty weak, relying heavily on her walker, but he said the scar looks "great," and he was very pleased with her.

I came home, ate a piece of candy and took a nap. It is already cold and sooo gray and dreary outside. But I should not complain about the cold AT ALL. It is 43 degrees right now, with a low of 33 predicted for tonight. Thursday, the high is 52 degrees... and the low will be 7 degrees! CHANCE of snow showers, but really we just expect it to damp and dreary and COLD. High Friday is 16.
I know some of you have it much worse... but we don't really expect it to be that cold around here. And at least it won't last long -- by Monday, we should be back above 40.

We ate supper and now we are getting ready to go to dgs' ballgame.
Afterwards, I plan to wrap some more. Maybe I can do 8 presents again tonight! :D
Also need to s/s bathrooms. Thanks for reminder, Kathryn.
I should start another load of laundry too. I forgot to do my underwear load yesterday.

Good for you on your steps, Nancy. I'm only at 2963 so far today. If I get over 5000, I'm happy, but my current goal is actually 6000. I'm just trying to get back into the habit of consistency with my 15 minutes "walk away the pounds." This whole month has been such a loss.
We definitely do not eat enough legumes around here.
Congratulations on the sweater win, Elizabeth, and have a good trip!
LadyM, your ds just amazes me!

Waving to EVERYONE!!! This is as far as topic review lets me look, so if I ignored you, I promise it wasn't on purpose!
Tomorrow is another day.

Hello again. I am so tired. All those blasted cookies are done. I wish I had more containers. I will get something tomorrow. 3/4 of the way cleaning up the kitchen. There is a lot of stuff needing to go back in the pantry. I will need to get the stepstool.

I have a very sore back from all the standing.

I went out and raked all that rubble up into a big long pile. Our pile had migrated out into the road a bit and I got that all back into the pile also. I went up next door and brought some of his big branches they missed and put on top of our pile. No use ruining both our lawns. I was too tired to rake his place too or I'd have done it. Plus it was starting to rain and getting heavier. DH came home and said it looked good. He was surprised there was so much left.

Oh my. We are down to the wire here. I think raking that stuff stirred up a lot of leaf litter and pollen or something and my nose is trying to run. I wish it would stop. I will take an allergy pill tonight.

Dee, I hope the flight works well for DH. When he gets here, do you have a good dr. for him to see if he needs one here?

The new computer chair is assembled.

I fear it is a very expensive mistake.

I've been sitting in it a half hour and in many ways it is very comfortable. It hugs my body well and my whole back is supported as is my neck (there's a pillow.) I still have to adjust the lumbar (it goes up and down as well as in and out.

The problem is it is too large for me. My weight was just a bit shy of the limit of the small chair but my height was about 3" shorter than the minimum for the regular size (and 20 pounds short of the minimum weight.) I asked the help chat when placing the order and was advised to get regular size. My feet don't touch the floor unless I'm fully upright in the chair (and the whole point of getting the chair is that I'm not to be fully upright but back at an 110* angle.) And my weight isn't enough to get the seat to go down when trying to adjust the height (that is complicated by my feet not touching the ground.)

So I need a foot rest. I have one to test out but it keeps sliding out of position. So that's another purchase.

The chair reclines to 165 degrees (basically the same as a lot of recliners) and I showed that to dh when I first got into the chair. But that tilted the seat up so the back is lower than the front and we can't get it to tilt back. Since I did the recline when I first got into the chair, it is uncertain whether it was ever comfortable or not but it looks tilted back. There's supposed to be an adjustment for the tilt but we can't get it to make any difference.

The final problem is I can't get the chair to work with my keyboard on my desk. It has the height (which my old chair didn't) but then my feet are way off the ground. And it is too wide to go up against the desk with the slides.

The packaging was amazing. It came with the size screw driver and hex wrench to assemble it and it is such a nice tool, dh has added it to his tool box. The foam packing material is designed to be used as a mat to put under the parts are you assembling things so the floor doesn't get scratched. Things like the screws were mounted in foam so they weren't at risk of being lost. And the instructions were on a 2' square poster in big print and big photos so that you could lean it against the wall and look over to each step. The assembly was straight forward and relatively quick as a result (well under an hour.)

And delivery, of course, was super quick. It has been here since Saturday but was expected to arrive today.

Hopefully, I'll be able to make adjustments to help me get more comfortable with it.

Had to add a few ta-das:
* wrapped six presents
* folded some dgrands' laundry (just a few items left here over the weekend)
* s/s bathrooms
* walked away the pounds (made it past 5000 steps, third day in a row + third day in a row to walk away the pounds)
* organized shopping list for tomorrow
* enjoyed ballgame, dgs' team won by 40 points :o (DGS shot the ball only once and missed, but he did have a rebound and blocked the ball once. For someone who sorta shied away from the ball last year, we are very excited to see him getting a little more aggressive.)

Did not do laundry -- decided to wait and wash my underwear when I wash sheets, hopefully tomorrow.
DGS came home with us to spend the night.
Tomorrow is another day.

Hi everyone! I had dinner with traveling companion friend and she did not expect me to have our shore excursions planned as I had feared. She only expected a list of possibilities which I had. Really glad I talked to her, she was unaware the deadline for payment was 1/16! It won't be a problem for her, but would have been if missed.

Given how today went, I did not ask for tomorrow off, but will likely leave early, after getting some things done. The problem is that I have an animal org board meeting the day before I travel and an appointment the morning of the day I travel. Too much to do, not enough time. LOL can run during zoom meeting. So much to deal with!

This evening I wrote up pet sitter instructions (significantly changed) and got the cat stuff together and made sure there is enough food and litter.

I have also been dealing with the most annoying situation ever. On what planet is it ok for friend N to promise friend G an item FROM MY BEDROOM because "Elizabeth isn't using it"? Now that I am the bad guy for not simply forking it over N says she "doesn't want to get in the middle". What the phooey? And as for "not using it", I use it twice a day every day, just not the way I used to. And even if I never use it again, N still can't promise it to someone else. ACK!!! I really don't have time for stupid drama.

Now that I have typed that last paragraph, I realize it is not drama. It is sitcom. Except that neither a soap opera nor a sitcom would use it as a plotline because it is too stupid and unbelievable.

Goodnight everyone! You have really helped me tonight because I am now laughing at ridiculousness rather than stewing over injustice. I am going to bed with a smile on my face. Thank you for listening, friends!
