Wondering Wednesday
I wonder what I'll manage to accomplish today. Especially with my poor record of putting together two productive days in a row!
What are you wondering about today?

Re: Wondering Wednesday
I'm still in awe of my output yesterday.
Most of it was housework with a side order of social activity. Both things I can do without my ADD meds (although even social works better when I have my meds as I can focus only on the person I'm talking to, rather than seeing/hearing/feeling all the activity around me and having to struggle to keep my mind on the person in front of me.)
Today I remembered my ADD med.
Dishwasher is unloaded, bed is made, light therapy is almost over.
Today's goals are more paperwork oriented.
1. Write up the registration forms for 8 residents' association (RA) renewals I did last May since all I did was put ticks next to people's names on the list and gave them a receipt for the cash. The membership secretary insists on forms. He's anal, our renewal process is complex and prone to typos as the info is copied over.
2. Take the RA cash and deposit it to the bank. We are over $500 now. This will include a walk. In theory it is to be sunny today (cloudy now) and really, really, cold. I might wear a mask on the walk since that makes these cold days much more manageable.
3. Write and send out an email to the RA executive. I've been busy this past week (except when babysitting) and I have a ton of things to report to them.
4. Kitchen weekly chores.
5. At least 3 zone chores (L/D is the focus this week).
6. Make a list of the RA stuff I still have to do before the meeting. I have 11 days before the annual general meeting and I can't lose sight of the fact we are having a party the same day.
7. File the RA stuff I've completed.
8. Open our mail and process.
9. Go through the pile of mail that another resident told me was there for B and write her power of attorney and see if he wants me to hold on to any of it. B was the resident who had lived here the longest. She moved into the building the year it opened and moved out 53 years later, 17 months ago, into a care home. Mail for her and her husband (who died, which is why she moved) still shows up in a pile in the mail room from time to time. Thankfully, the super (who was on holiday when her dh died and she was moved out), got the card of the PoA when he came to supervise the shutting down of the apartment and passed that information on to me, so I've been in touch with him as needed ever since.
Normally former-resident mail gets piled on the ledge in front of my mail box, not because new residents know I'll see it but because it is the logical spot (and bloody inconvenient for me) to put misdirected mail and Amazon deliveries. But since I know so many of the residents and have their email addresses if they belonged to the RA before moving, it means I can let people know if I see something important. The most heart wrenching was notice from Citizenship Canada to a family and imagining they had applied, their file was finally being acted on, and the notice went to their former address. In that case, I didn't know the people and had to just leave that potentially life-changing letter untouched.
10. Finish reading the current book to dgs6. That will be at 4ish, so I need to set an alarm and make sure I'm available for our regular skype call. The 'exciting' (in quotes because this wasn't really an exciting book) part is over and I think we are left with just wrap-up, although perhaps the crow will learn to say "Lily". I am enjoying this time with dgs and the book was amusing in parts since it is written from Lily the dog's point of view and she thinks everything is about her. We have good giggles over that.
I wonder how much of this I'll accomplish?
First up, a shower. I note my body is sore from all the housework yesterday and playing in the snow and carrying dgs1.9 the day before.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
I wonder about today too. Yesterday was pretty much a bust. although I did get my steps in thanks to the workout. The program last night was interesting but ended nine. And for some reason I had trouble falling asleep last night.
I'm wondering what else I can attempt today. I have installation for the dog invisible fence and first training between ten and noon today. I'd like to have things done so I can go upstairs without guilt for the afternoon.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Change in plans - installer for fence is here and working, so I can go to the store after he's gone and then have the afternoon. Meanwhile, I need to get through a.m. routine! And hopefully, while out, I can drop off glass for recycling, go the bank for the cemetery deposit, and take shred to the UPS store.
You did have an impressive day yesterday, Kathryn, and today looks equally ambitious!

Re: Wondering Wednesday
just a good morning hello! Hello!
I slept all day yesterday =well all afternoon and rested all evening.
I did have a headache, but not like usual, so it wasn't so bad.
I am sure that depression and stress hit me yesterday.
I just had to get off the stress train.
dd younger spent the day with dh yesterday so that took a weight off of visiting dh. Not that seeing dh is ever an issue but I needed to regroup my brain of what I and dh will be facing in the near future.
our freezer came and is now in the basement. I hope this one lasts a long time.
I wish you all a wonderful day!
I am going to see dh in a half hour for the morning.
I need to stop by the nursing home
I need to stop by the store.
and some routines.
cleaning ladies are coming tomorrow and I will have the cleaning ladies clean the front room well.
Room by room work if I can (at least 15 minutes each area if I can).

Re: Wondering Wednesday
I've already done some stuff this morning. It's minus 7 C with a "feels like minus 18 C" for this first of February. It's sunny out, which makes it okay. We have no plans to go out.
Swept/washed living room and hallway.
Cleaned the mirrors, sink, toilet and tub.
Washed the middle of the kitchen floor where I saw some marks.
There is 1 thing in the kitchen sink to be washed. (Large rack that has been needing a soak.)
I need to sweep and wash the rest of the kitchen floor. I also need to do the bathroom floor. Waiting until after the next time dh goes in there.
We went to Walmart yesterday, so no need to go today.
Chicken for supper. Most likely shake and bake. I think I'll do baked potatoes.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Good Morning.
I am wondering if our tiny public school will make it the entire day. About half of the schools in this area cancelled classes today due to the predicted ice. Our administrationn decided to have school while keeping the options to end it early if the ice happens. Homeschool with DS14 is underway. He is eager to get his assignments done so he can go to work.
Church has been cancelled for tonight. That means I need to plan & cook more food here instead of cooking/eating with church family
I am enjoying the process of daily deep cleaning, decluttering, and organizing our home in small increments. Once an area is done then it is a quick daily effort to maintain it. How did these areas get so neglected? I went through a season of life where just surviving everyday was the best I could do. Things that weren't vital to the daily operation were ignored. Now I am able to give those ignored spaces my attention. However, they are disheartening, and some areas require so many decisions that I quickly become mentally fatigued, so I only tackle small areas at a time. Yesterday's ignored area that I tackled was underneath DD11 desk and underneath my bedside table. Today's ignored area is DS14 closet. This one will probably be a several day project.
I haven't finished setting up the February calendar and hourly schedule. That is a priority.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Wondering what I will be up to today and if my book will come with a couple other items.
Might do one desk duty task.
It is 31* here this morning flurries in the forecast but none have reached the ground here of the ones they predicted the past few days.
I was up an hour earlier today. I have 3 mini loaves of bread raising that I did a cold start on last night glad they are progressing as they should.
Did get my anti anxiety verse written out for today this is my 90 day quest.
I swept leaves off the deck and patio in the dark but glad I got that done.
qt *
journal *
planing *
Thinking of you all.
House smells great the 3 mini loaves of bread just came out of the oven!
Walked around the block
got the mail / no book maybe in ups / or the other one later on today keeping fingers crossed.
picked up after the ddog in back yard.
Read a chapter in my current book.*

Re: Wondering Wednesday
LadyM: your schools have missed many days in the past couple of weeks. Will they make them up at the end of the year, thus you ds14 has to work longer too?
I'm making progress.
I've s2s, did a load of laundry (and used the dryer because dh's jeans needed cleaning and he only has one pair so I did them while he was exercising!), have got items 1 and most of 7 done. I lost the RA chequebook for a while so that led to working on item 7 as I desperately pawed through stacks of papers (found it in the treasurer's portfolio, since I separated it from the binder with the cash and cheque registers and bank statements.)
I'll have $500 to deposit when I go to the bank, including a banknote that may not still be legal tender (a hazard of working with predominantly seniors!) At least the rest of us were old enough to recognize that it used to be legal tender. If it isn't, I can take it back to the guy since I know where it came from.
Next up, breakfast.
I have a brief meeting to hand over registration forms and receive cash from the other building's registration evening at 11:30.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
I'm wondering about which errands take priority today. Must at least buy both dry & canned cat food, & do a short grocery run for romaine, mushrooms, 1/2 &1/2 & bananas. Other things are not urgent & I may wait on those -- gas up my car (still have more than 1/4 of a tank), drop off one box of donation stuff at G oodwill, & buy birthday cards. The last three stops are in the opposite direction.
Great job on all you accomplished yesterday, Kathryn. I enjoy reading about the time you spend with your dgrandkids.
Hope your ddog gets used to the new fence with no problem, Twins.
((dBlessed)), you have been so much on my mind as you deal with your dh being ill, & all the stress, worry, & lack of time that has come with it. I'm glad you are taking the time to rest when you need to.
Hi Cathy. It's nice to be able to stay home on a cold day. Thanks for reminding me that I need to wash my kitchen floor.
Hi LadyM. You inspire me with all you get done in your home plus all the demands you have in raising two active dkids.
I hope your book comes today, Nancy.
I'm running out of ideas for dinner. I'll ask dh to think of some meals he would like to have. At some point I need to go through my recipe files for more ideas. No idea what is for dinner tonight...
Thinking of Dee & Mr Dee. Hope he is doing well. Will check J&C now. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Dh sat at the kitchen table for a while and had something to eat. I wasn't all that hungry, so I put a few plants on the table and dealt with removing dead bits. I have 3 orchids that are all getting new buds on them, so I tried to put the supporting stakes near the new growth. That only worked on 2 of them. I didn't want to force the other one only to have it break.
Now dh has gone to get a sack of bird food, so I have the house to myself, which is nice. I told him I was going to have a shower, so I need to actually do that. I almost always crawl into bed after a shower in the winter time so I can warm up.
I have swept and washed bathroom and kitchen floors. Now the entire house is done other than pantry/office and library.
