"Ain't No Sunshine" Thursday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

We sure aren't seeing sunshine here. Today is rain, we see some clearing tomorrow and finally sun again by Saturday, but cooler. Then the clouds move back in.

I need to figure out how to make my own sunshine today!

No sunshine here, either.

I'm starting to rebel against having to be on the go all the time and making no progress on the filing and finishing up of small paperwork tasks here.

Yet, there is no choice. And most of it (not the broken tooth distraction) is moving me towards a more under control paperwork situation. Today, all the resident association treasurer things get moved out of my apartment. Since it was never my 'job', I have never had a place for them since Jan 2020 when the previous treasurer resigned and gave me back all the stuff.

Currently there is $600 in cash on my dining room table is semi-organized piles, along with a ton of receipts so I'll be glad to get things out of here.

No sunshine here. No wind, which is awesome. Dh and I burned some paper and cardboard this morning after we put the compost, garbage and recycling out together. Dh is also going to take a bag of garbage to the landfill at some point today. I have to change back to the other cat litter I think. The compost can was so heavy and it was only 1 week's worth of stuff. I only have a bit of the clumping litter left, so I will switch back when it's done.

Happy belated birthday to Elizabeth's dd. I read "dd21" and immediately thought I had just seen "dd20" in the post from the night before.

We have the white meat left over from the Costco chicken, so we are having chicken fajitas tonight even though we had steak fajitas earlier this week. Dh has never had chicken fajitas before. :shock: When my dd lived at home, we had chicken fajitas every week.

Weather-wise, we are expecting rain to start around noon, with Kathryn's area expecting it after 6 p.m.

TV is loud this a.m. and dh swears it's not. So obtrusive. I'll need to get away from it! I was hoping he'd go to work for awhile today.

I have a workout at two again and am remembering how good it was for me. I suggested we go out to eat tonight but it looks like that's prime time for T storms. I still need to get to the grocery this week but have no energy with him sitting here.

Need to get on with the day. So hard to wake it when it's so gloomy out.
having to be on the go all the time
That's how I'm feeling too Kathryn. Wishing for quieter days for both of us.

Cathy, we have wind today with our storms later.

~~~waving Hi to all~~~
We have sunshine here. I wish I could share it. We are 40 degrees cooler than yesterday, but I don't mind the cool weather. Anything seems fine if the strong wind isn't happening.
I showed DH the calendar this morning because it has a rare empty streak. There is nothing on the calendar for the next three days.
The fence contractor will be working today. This project isn't moving as fast as I had hoped but it could be because my perspective is like a kid anticipating Christmas.
DD11 has been delivered to public school. DS14 is doing homeschool assignments. I'm acknowledging the normalcy of that. Normal is good.
I'm not cooking today because we have an overabundance of leftovers. I'll make a blender full of smoothies for everyone's breakfast but then YOYO is implemented for the rest of the day. YOYO=You're On Your Own
Declutter project for the day is DS14 socks. I probably should count the number of socks he has but I'm not sure that I want to know. He has waaay too many. I wonder what a reasonable number of socks a person should have. 20? 50? 100? 200? 400? We need to establish some boundaries.
Price book research today is on dry yeast. The price for 2 lb ranges from $5.38 to $43. 84 This item was an easy win for Sam's.
My spare room desk is in a sate similar to K in C's minus the cash.
Washer twins are going. Clean sheets are on the bed.
I sewed a seam while I was down stairs.
Feeling mostly better but was awake in the night thinking of fabrics I had seen yesterday. :mrgreen: What to make with them.
-----
Making progress:
Got my new journals ordered yea! :mrgreen:
I feel 75 % better than I did at the beginning of the week it is good to note that improvement.
-----
Sent inquiry out for finding a person to take the folding truck bed cover & mirror.
Had lunch & no mail today.
Coming back through after grocery store. We need to start eating at home more. I just threw out some veggies because I buy, then end up not cooking. Before I went to the store I wrote a list of three meals I can make and made sure we have ingredients for all. And I gotta get dh involved. I know he's tired when he gets home but I think he'll be more invested in eating well if he is participatory.
I need to eat something not too heavy and leave for workout in less than an hour.
Dh is upstairs working. I checked in with him and reminded him of all the healthy things we have for lunch. It's sweet that ddog is hanging out up there with him.
Homeschool is completed.
I'm tired of looking at February valentine theme decoration so I'm taking it down and packing it away. I haven't decided if I'll leave the rooms undecorated or put March decorations up early.
DS14 sock declutter & organization was a success. It took about an hour, but it feels well worth the effort. I put all the matching socks together and then DS14 decided which ones he will wear and only those socks were kept.
I am using a labeler to make plant markers for the seeds that have none. The plant markers I've made like this in the past have held up for many years with no degradation so I'm confident they will last for decades. I do assemble line method of making them which speeds up the process. I need to replace my cauliflower seeds because they won't germinate. I have no clue how old these seeds are, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were over a decade old. I use the same seeds for years until they stop germinating. I raised Roma tomatoes last year but wasn't impressed with them. This year I am going to raise San Marzano tomatoes instead of roma. The cauliflower & San Marzano seeds have been ordered.
I chopped some roasted chicken and put it on top of a bed of romaine lettuce. I was hungry for simple food. As Twins says....real food!
Happy Birthday, Elizabeth's dd!
Yes, Cathy, I also thought there was something different in the "name" in the posts but didn't have any certainty until Elizabeth explained.
Elizabeth, my dd43 is also finding that as her boys grow up, she's finding out that her "brain still works" in various mathematical ways. Her work is not at all without math, just varied.
No sunshine but WARM here. I had to change my notations in my planner for temps at appt times and will switch to a short-sleeved shirt today.
HRH made a bbq lunch with onions and potatoes too - very good.
His mother is having well troubles and the phone has really been ringing.
Here, the Asplundh people are cutting, cutting cutting. They are everywhere. I'm sure part of this is taking advantage of good temps without glaring sun, as well.
I’m upstairs at my desk. I thought I started the windows update yesterday and it would be done but didn’t. Long time to update.
I had a good workout.
