bw2, one less thing for you to worry about these days. Hope the doctor appt goes well for your dh. Good to get that question about his trach cleared up too.

Back from rounds and needing to get busy! I think these are my tasks for first round:
-take dog outside to show her invisible fence training
-start challah
-pick up poop in the back yard
-sweep off back patio and put grill cover in the garage (hopefully before rain starts)
-front porch clean up

I'm expecting two deliveries today, thanks for the reminder!

Dh was dropped off at 10, I picked up the booster seat at 10:30, I did a Costco return (and picked up more spinach), then came home. Dh texted me that he was all ready to go and settled in for a 2 hour wait for the procedure. Then the procedure, an hour long process around 2, then to recovery where he'll be for at least 2 hours. So I am to expect a call at 5ish.

I'm going to start working the pomodoro timer to see if I can get things done. First up, ironing a ton a handkerchiefs (dh was getting low so I ordered another dozen plus the ones that were already in the laundry.)

Thinking of Ken in Canada today. Hoping for boring.

I am on grandpuppy duty along with dstepdil today. We've been texting trying not to duplicate each other's care, but I still ended up over there about 15 minutes after she had just left because a (perishable) package was delivered. Dd24 is spending each night for 2 nights, so those hours are covered. HRH says he would have opted for a stay at a pet place, but it's borderline help when so many of puppy's humanfolk have occasion to be close.

Will be back home only briefly after my 2:00 promise of puppy-check, before leaving for appt. I'm glad things on my schedule are mid-day ones because sleep was only theoretical last night. I really could have just started the day's topic here at about 3am, I guess.The weekend promises a lot of in-and-out by family but I may ditch them and hibernate.

Glad things are moving along, Kathryn.

I'm breaking to eat lunch. Got the uncovered patio swept a bit although it was wet. Not going out in the rain to pick up poop, tho. And challah is going in the bread maker. I've made my step goal for the week with another day and a half to go. Not ready to increase it just yet.

I'm starting again at :15 after the hour, Pomodoro style, and breaking at TOTH. Need to get kitchen cleaned up and do front porch and lots more. And s2s!

I wish they would have told me that before leaving - they never told me that the last time.

I agree, Blessed -hate it when they don't tell us something. After several years of taking Eplerenone dh was removed from it up north in December (why, no one seems to know). But Dr here put him back on it and it seems to be helping. But in the interest of the subject: we were never told in all that time till last week to always wait for at least 30 minutes to take that after taking Lasix (which he has every morning).

I received melatonin and a lotion for dh last night from A river. However driver delivered a package for the people who actually built this house and then built one further down the road. Our address is 139, theirs 319. So I wrote her a note and took it down this morning and left it inside their screened porch.

Dh had a wonderful time at the Lightning vs Sabres game last night. DD got his ticket changed to handicapped. She dropped him by the arena and went to park her car. Meantime security saw him sitting there (on his rolling walker) and came and took him inside out of the hot sun. After dd got there and staff helped him to seating, they promised him a Lightning cupcake (which is here waiting for us to partake). They treated him like royalty. He was tired but so enjoyed being able to go to the game. Another staff member kept an eye on him. After the game one of the off-ice officials drove dd and dh to her car so dh wouldn't have to sit and wait. I gave him his first melatonin last night and I think it helped. Actually I took one too and I think I slept better though fitbit says I only got 5 hours/14 minutes. But that's better than 2 or 3 or 4 hours. But then I had a hard time waking up this morning. Wonder if I need to take it earlier. Dh actually went back to bed and slept sound at least another hour.

I'm still waiting on a W-2 in order to do our taxes. Owners of the campground changed companies who do payroll partway through the summer. We got the W-2 for the first $3,000 but not the 2nd one. Hate to call the camp manager right now as her DDad has been put on 'comfort care'. Know we have a couple extra days to file this year but I do need to get them done soon.

How wonderful that dh enjoyed the match last night and they made it easy for him and dd! Maybe looking forward to another night out will be good for him.

I worked on the porch, but I think dh has the battery thing out of the lightweight blower so I came in and the alarm had been going off for 4 minutes, so I'll treat myself to 4 extra minutes perhaps. I just learned that the ddog will table surf for sure when my back is turned. She ate a stick of butter off DR table. I had it set already and it's somewhat disheveled, otherwise I might not have noticed her deed. Suspects she'll have a sick tummy. Just what we need tonight.

Dh is dithering about the steaks. Since yesterday he's started emphasizing that he "wants it to be nice." I'm not sure what else he wants to do but he took off in search of better steaks than what he already purchased. And when I asked him if he's able to bring in three extra folding chairs from the garage, he wanted to know why three. Because we have nine people and our table will be crowded. Nine people????? he says. Caveat: that's seven plus us.

He did put the battery pack on the blower so I finished the front porch.

Checking in -- just waiting to see how my day is going to go -- I think we may have both dgrands for two nights. Of course, I was just thinking, we always do that on ballgame weekends, so what is the difference? I guess it's the planned activity of the game itself that keeps them occupied more, and of course, they usually settle in pretty well for car rides, so that eats up 6-7 hours of the weekend. Anyway -- the other grandpa is changing jobs and currently working both places, so he has said he's not up for children. (DH here said, "I didn't know that was an option." LOL -- it's not when you're retired, apparently. But I'm just kidding; we'd rather have them than have them with babysitters when we are just sitting around the house anyway.) The point is, maybe I need more "structured" activity around here for them?

I am s2s, talked to dmom, finishing up laundry. Otherwise, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself today besides Nana-duty.

Question -- that fancy-smancy planner I bought has task like, for example: Wednesday -- Clean light fixtures and fans... Thursday -- Clean light switches... etc.
I'm thinking, is it better to go through the whole house doing that one thing, or better to do that in one room while you're in that zone and use the rest of your time in that same room on something else? Just curious to how y'all would do that.

Also -- purely random question -- LadyM mentioned the "bull pasture" the other day, and then I saw something about a "bull pasture" in our local insurance company magazine today. I thought if you kept more than one bull in a pasture, they would fight. Is that not so? Or maybe that's only if females are also present? I know I do have a friend who has maybe three bulls in the same pasture, but I thought she would have to separate them when they reached maturity. Just wondering. I know I've heard my grandfather and his friends helping each other out when a bull got OUT of a pasture to fight a bull across the road.

Yes -- definitely hoping all goes well for Ken today! (Envious that Kathryn gets to do drop off and pick up and doesn't have to be present in the facility for this whole thing...) (((Kathryn))) -- try not to worry!

So glad Mr. Dee had such a great night! We may have another member of royalty (besides HRH) here in our village!

It's raining here, too, Twins, and suddenly, it is MUCH chillier than it was the last couple of days! I hope your evening goes better than your anticipation of it. I sympathize with you, though. Sometimes I wish dh here were more "social," but then I think, "Nah... I don't want to do anything either."
Hmmm... perhaps Mr. Twins will COUNT before inviting guests next time?

Nancy, stay warm and safe! I've seen some of the traffic difficulties on the news. I drove in some icy/snowy conditions once in the Ozarks. NOT an experience I want to repeat!

(((Blessed))) -- it does seem that that would be good information to have, doesn't it (re: the trach.) Sigh.

Good to "see" Cathy's dh out working, sounds like an ordinary, normal day, which is always good. * Hope he finds the mystery leak!

The Roomba/Bissel thing sounds so nice. I wonder how it would work here -- we have a lot of carpet, but then we have a large open den/kitchen/dining area that has hardwood and vinyl with several area rugs, and some of the rugs have fringed edges. I've always feared that the Roomba would get tangled up on all that.
I do need to finish vacuuming the carpet around here. And hard floors in kitchen and laundry room will need to be re-done; all this towel laundry creates a lot of dust/lint.
Need to clean bathrooms too. I mopped Wednesday, but didn't s/s toilets or anything else.

Lucylee: you have to remember that we started all this during the strict Covid lockdowns and at that time, drop off and pickup was all that was on offer. And the website still says there are restrictions on visitors but doesn't define them. But dh is really good about doing these things on his own.

I haven't achieved anything beyond the ironing (turned out there were 2 doz to iron) and installing the booster seat on the dining table chair. Three times. Thankfully, installing it is super easy. I did it once, then decided to change the chair to a different one so did it again, then noted it was too low on that chair so took it off and raised it (there are 3 height settings for this booster.) I really, really, love this booster (Fisher Price travel booster) and it packs up really compactly so that it can be used in restaurants or when visiting people. Or on the floor/ground if having a picnic (to stop a child from wandering away or eating too many bugs/twigs.)

Then I had a snack and got distracted surfing the net instead of paying bills.

And I've completely forgotten there's a school book fair today I wanted to go to in the *daytime* rather than when others are off work.

I have swept and mopped the floors upstairs.

Lucy I have done those chores differently on different time like one room at a time doing zone cleaning esp. if I had wee ones around.
Then on some days like when doing weekly clean I do all of them at one time in the whole house especially if it is just me here. I can go room to room and dow mirrors or door knobs for example.

Snow is still on the ground here.
My package came journals yea!
Sewed a few seams for the next two bags up.
Finished one bag.
Got my steps in by dinner yea!
