Cathy: we aren't to get the storm until midnight. Then just 6" overnight and in the morning too. I'll bet now the school buses will be cancelled again.

We've had 31.2cm of snow (12") over the past 6 days, so add the expected 15cm for tomorrow and it will make for a rather snowy week.

This winter has felt like a significant snow fall every few days so snow clearing has been behind most of the winter. We've had 60cm so far in February. Had February not been such a short month at the end ( ! ) we might have made it closer to 96cm we got in December and January! On the other hand, we have half the snowpack now than we did at the beginning of the month so we can see how the longer days are helping with the 'snow removal.' We had 8cm yesterday and the roads were a mess in the morning. By 2 in the afternoon, the roads and sidewalks were clear and the sun was shining brightly.

Living room and dining room are finished, vacuum is put away. House blessing is officially done.

Papers still cover the dining room table but I have a good portion of tomorrow to deal with those.

I have moved the recliners a bit and set up bins on their sides to become toy shelves and loaded dgs' toys onto those. It will make cleanup quicker.

Now to start dinner. It is supposed to be a quick recipe. Let's see if that's true!

Kathryn, that's a lot of work you did today.

I went out in the shop and began putting like things together. I had 2 plastic containers and 1 nice box... and I could have used more and bigger ones. I may work on that in the future. DH came out to see what I was doing and I started showing him where I was putting that stuff. Then I found a couple things and asked him what they were, if they were still useful. Got those answers. Ducked around the other side of the shelves alcove and picked up a paint can...what's this for is it still good... and we started working on that batch of stuff. I just kept going as long as he was cooperating. To the garbage can today: 18 dried up cans of what used to be paint. 12 other cans are open sitting out to dry up. It is legal to just throw paint away once it's all dried up. 5 cleaners tossed.

I showed him all the car cleaners. Told him, for someone who never cleans a car or a truck, we have an awful lot of car cleaners!

The plan is to use up what I can and get rid of some and duplicates.

He was out there with me but started getting unhappy at the end so luckily I was able to finish. If I'd done that by myself, he'd for sure want to know where it all went and he'd be sure I threw away good stuff.

In the mail today: another 16 covid test kits. I am going to call Medicare when the statement comes in and tell them not to pay them. I can't get the test kits stopped. Last time someone called I said no, no, no, I have a closet full don't send any. This is expensive for the government. I don't know what to do.

I'm home from the library - not a very fruitful trip but some are like that. The body work was a good trip - I feel balanced and my back is better. I stopped on the way home at the grocery for just spring mix for a salad - we have have grilled steak or chicken over salad or chili from last night for our supper.

I tried to get the dog outside for a bit right when I got home but the rain had started and wind was blowing fiercely. The rain ended quickly and it's sunny out now, so I'll take the dog in a few minutes. She doesn't seem like she's in a hurry to walk or potty. We can go around the block now that the rain is done.

I am taking at least one of these pr. of jeans back I like the other brand better for the fit.
Might need bigger it is what it is but at least I know the zipper is longer and fits me better.

The snow is still coming from the east and blowing sideways. We have a drift between the back door and the garage so dh will have to deal with that in the morning. Dh has the snow blower parked inside the garage facing outwards, so he just has to open the overhead door in the morning. I opened the back door and I was pushing snow with the bottom of the door. Told dh it's a good thing we have a shovel inside because we will need it in the morning. He said we should go open the screen door every once in a while to keep the snow away from the back door. Most of the screens all around the house are getting snowy, so it's doing the "living in a snow globe" effect from inside. We were both commenting that we are so happy we don't have to go anywhere tomorrow and we don't have to drive in this.

Supper was so good and it just really hit the spot tonight more than usual.

What a beautiful visual picture this makes. I can only imagine that much snow would muffle the outside sounds.

I transplanted 3 broccoli seedlings into the raised bed garden. I am trying something new to keep the mole/gopher from reaching the plant. I buried a plastic net pot in the ground and planted the seedling inside of it. The roots should be able to grow through the slots. Will it work? I have no clue but I feel hopeful.

DH and worked together for several hours to get the tree project almost finished. When we started this project, we didn't realize how big it was. We will have firewood to burn in the firepit for several years. We still have several stacks of tree branches to load and haul to the gully. But the fence project has wide open space to proceed...whenever the contractor gets off vacation and decides to show up to work. My muscles are complaining that I did too much today.

LadyM: on Sunday morning we had an unexpected storm and the roads were mostly snow covered. I went out on the balcony for a few minutes and there was no wind, and no traffic noise because the little that was, was absorbed by the snow. Best of all, I could hear birds in the woods below. It was lovely.

The birds were there this morning too but mostly drowned out by the traffic noise. Tomorrow should be nice, although the winds are already making themselves known here so I may not want to step out onto the balcony tomorrow.

Dinner (https://www.theseasonedmom.com/chicken- ... casserole/ in case anyone is curious) was a success! Dh really enjoyed it. He grew up with casseroles, but I hate creamy/mushy foods so I never liked casseroles. Now in my 60s (!) I'm better about trying new things. This one has a crispy top and I added corn so there was texture with the mush. It was supposedly a 10 minute to assemble and 45 to bake dish, but it took me over 30 minutes to assemble.

While it was in the oven, I got the kitchen prep cleaned up and the garbage out.

Dh has a bad cold and now has no voice. He started with the coughing on Saturday, from post nasal drip he said, and then sinuses were bloody, and now no voice.) Unfortunately, after dinner, I had some coughing that brought up phlegm and now my voice is a bit off too. I should have had the air filter running overnight the past few nights but didn't think it through.

Anyway, I think I might head to bed in the next hour. I'm tired after all my work today but, aside from the dining table, the apartment looks great. I still need to rework my desk a bit so I can work at my computer while ds is awake and just drop the roll-top if he's needing my attention too much. Or just open the desk and work for a few minutes once my nap is done each day but he's still asleep. When he is just here for the day, I un-dock my laptop and just leave it up on top of the desk out of reach. But for 10 days, that isn't a solution and it will be easier to keep up with email if I'm doing it from a computer rather than my phone. Which reminds me, I got an email this morning that need addressing.

— Needed to call tax man; he called us first, made appt to see him later in the day
— Needed to call allergy doctor; nurse called me first, said allergy serums would be in the mail ASAP.
— Needed to call family doctor & schedule wellness checkup; did that — I will see him next week.
— s2s, etc, off to accountant
— ate at Olive Garden
— drug store for refills
— dropped off payment for gas bill at city hall
— home. Realized we both felt awful — achy, headaches, etc. We both fell asleep.
— Talked to ds, found out Dgd was sick & missed school and softball practice today; ddil had come home from work sick Sunday morning and called in last night; dgs cam Ed home from school and fell asleep. Looks like something is going around, doesn’t it?

I just hope we all feel better tomorrow! After putting off Christmas with dmom for two months, I don’t want to reschedule again. Sigh.

It's been nice to read everyone's mixes. Especially agree with LadyM's dd about February - that is so true.

My mix was small. Dd24 took me to appt but rather than she and I both going to TarJay as we had planned, I just let her drop me off and come back and get me after she shopped alone. By the time we headed to appt I could tell I wasn't going to feel like shopping.

I had gotten up at 5, S2Sed, washed my hair and dried it, gotten dressed, made myself a big smoothie and... .. fizzled. After she brought me home, I napped while she went out and got groceries by herself as well. Her Dad added things to the list but I didn't, so we need another trip pretty soon.

Successfully fought off another nap at 7:00 so that I can stay on the household schedule rather than be wandering around at some silly hour. Happy about that - the victory of the day.

Best wishes to everyone who is under the weather - noticing blessed's dh, lucylee and dh, plus Ken and Kathryn with maybe a need for more humidity? Sorry about forgetting the most important person.
