Wow! it is Wednesday and it is March 1.

I saw a lot of fog last night (early this morning) but it is all burned off by this morning.

Kathryn, never a dull moment, right? Too bad about DSon's friend/daughter.

Usual busy day here. When will we be back to normal? DH has decided instead of pouring a concrete lid for that tank he will make one out of aluminum. I suppose that's legal. He had some plate aluminum here and things for reinforcing and making a handle. Said he didn't feel like pouring concrete. I guess he could have bought one somewhere... we still have the switches and pump to install and we're going to put the filter back in. When we get too old to fuss with this (aren't we now?) we'll have to have people come to open up the tank and clean out the filter. It's a big long plastic thing that gets hosed off...keeps the sludge from building up. People take those filters out and don't use them because they're a pain to maintain... but we did get that sludge, so here we go. Older tanks don't have them.

Those guys last night were super nice. Patient. Hard working. We tried other companies we knew but they were all busy for a long while. This company was our last resort. Sometimes there is a better idea than one we figure on. It has made me remember a saying I've heard: Man plans, God laughs.

Yesterday while I was waiting for them I went through 2 of my clothes drawers and refolded and decluttered a bit. I'm in good shape with that stuff around here, even the garage and part of the shop. But I'm in desperate need of a cleaning everywhere but the master bedroom, and a big grocery shopping. I finished my study for this week.

I am feeling super lazy today. What is it about a day without "must dos" that means nothing happens? I have had breakfast and walked the ddog and a few other things. I met the recycling truck at the street, lol, when I heard it coming earlier. The bin was full, didn't want to miss it!

I think I need lunch and then need to set a timer and work. I might reward myself with a nap if I can at least get through morning routine.

Kathryn, we had a friend lose his dd in this way about a year ago, and the feelings are so numbing, bewildering for those who just can't imagine their friend suffering such a blow. So very sorry your ds is sad today. Glad that emergency chiropractor appt was a possibility.

The monthly threads are up for the new month.

Yesterday ds called and asked if I needed anything. Short answer was "no", but it still ended up that he took me to appt and to pharmacy 1 afterward. He had a long wait because it was the day to also see a dr - this one I've never seen before but sort of wish I'd had earlier. It is easier to have a woman, especially one with cheer and humor. Also a problem-solver. Not that men can't be all those things. Just communication to get to those points is not as easy. There probably won't be time to see her again before I ditch that joint.

Have been giving time to dd24 as she begins her new job. Today is first day. She doesn't know yet whether to bring her own lunch, how people dress, that sort of thing - just clues. What I'm hoping for is that she will find some creativity. It is a design firm, but I'm sure a lot of emphasis must be on the business side, or they wouldn't have been successful.

I'm home again and about to have something to eat.

Dh got out at 10:10, we went and dropped off a prescription in dd's neighbourhood, visited with her, picked up the prescription, hit Costco, car wash and home by 1:40. I unloaded groceries (still some in the car) and started the oven to mass cook bacon before I forgot and it went bad. While that was heating up, I trimmed and arranged more flowers (I bought some last week and they give me so much joy I bought more this week so I can see them in more places as I move around the apartment.)

Then I made up the bacon, tidied the kitchen, had a snack and now will have some yogurt for protein (sadly missing from my diet today.) I see my tea tray is still next to me at the computer.

Ds will be here in 1.5 hours or more. He's bringing dinner. I might take a nap after the yogurt.

Also -- so sweet of dgd to send Winnie the Pooh to keep Ken company!

Rose -- you are amazing me with all your activity -- whether the steps are being counted or not! Enjoy your pool day!

And ditto being amazed at Harmony... amazed but NOT envious At All. Boy, yes, Harmony deserves a break! At a sparkling white, immaculate spa, with air that smells like cucumber and coconut... with a kind massage therapist.

And you too, Cathy, if sewage problems pop up at your house.

Looking at LadyM's plan for supper in a bit of awe, too. My dfriend's mom could plan and organize all the stuff for church suppers. I can never think on that sort of scale. (When it's my night to do Wed. night supper, I am on a team with ddil and a another young mom who happens to run a bar-b-que restaurant. DDIL and I don't know how we lucked out like this, but we sure are happy. We usually bring desserts and drinks, and they bring pork and buns for sandwiches.) Also -- we only serve about 30-40 people at most.

Waving to blessed ... hope things are going well for your dh, blessed, and that you and dd are taking care of yourselves, too!

YES. Story of my life, Twins... and then if the "must dos" take me out of the house, I come home and do nothing afterwards. So -- Nothing happens around here, a LOT.
Actually though, I did vacuum the study today, and I have a load of laundry to hang to dry before I go to church.

Good that ds could accompany you on appointments, Harriet! Sending good wishes to dd24 as she begins the new job.

Watching for storms here tonight, and actually for the next couple days. I was really hoping church would be cancelled, as it was last week for this same reason, but looks like we're still on. DH is not going but I guess I will. We are starting a new Lenten Bible Study tonight, a Max Lucado book, so I hate to miss the first night.

Washed & dried & cut off my new jeans they seem to fit yea!
I mixed up some oat meal cookie dough.
Napped this afternoon.
Pulled 4 weeds looked at my plant cage.
Had an early dinner.

Test cookie was wonderful! Batter than the last ones were.
Got the bigger oat meal carton so I can read the recipe better is helpful!
Vacuumed the back of the house aka bedrooms yea!

dusted off the china hutch.
Cleared out some dishes and moved them to the buffet.
Put the big dutch oven where the dishes were in the dining room.
Zone work getting some things resituated.

Harriet, I sure hope DD likes her new job and they like her (why wouldn't they, she sounds like an absolutely wonderful young lady)! I'm glad that you have family that stops by to help you a bit. I'm a bit envious of that.

Well, the pump and float switch is in and wired up. I only got zinged once and DH got zinged once. I mentioned that to the pump guy last night and he was not alarmed. He said, well at least it's low voltage. Low voltage or not it made me yelp with surprise. DH was mostly surprised and said a bad word. There's been a lot of those words in the air around here lately. My neighbors probably think we're terrible people. Hopefully they didn't hear. Guy next door had pulled his little RV up to his back door and I wondered if they were loading to get out of here because of all this going on. Well, probably not. He's a fireman, I'm sure he sees lots of awful things.

LOL washed and in the dryer, some of it hanging up. Dishwasher loaded. (toilets flushed) It's wonderful to have a working drain...though these tanks are so big we could drain into them a long time before they'd be full. As time goes on I will feel better and better about this system working properly. The back yard is full of tools. Strewn about everywhere. I was going to take the garden cart back there and load them all up but ran out of light.

I am making a list for the grocery. Tomorrow I will put my laundry in and take off for shopping. I have never seen the refrigerator and pantry this empty. We just finished the bread and all that's left are 2 crusts. I would have gone late this afternoon except DH wanted to take the car to youth group.

I got my checkbook register caught up from the last several days. And I guess that's it for this residence. Tomorrow I'll take the first pump DH bought back (not the right kind) and hit the supermarket. Friday after class I'll drop off donations and a return at the store up there. Then I think I'll be more caught up, sort of.
