Wow yourself, Wednesday!

Post by Kathryn-in-Canada »

Try and wow yourself today!

Whether it is getting something done before the deadline (3 days before is what Mystery accomplished yesterday, WOW!) or doing something really well, or finally getting something off your to-do list, or putting on an outfit, or makeup, or styling your hair so that you say a little "wow!" to yourself when you catch sight of yourself in the mirror, or simply putting together a string of more than one accomplishment, find some way to be impressed with yourself today.

And no, "Wow, look at the size of Mount Washmore!" doesn't count!

I've drawn up a list of what I'm to do in each time-block today (with rests as well.)

Now let's see if I can WOW myself and stick to it beyond lunch!

That's a wow already, Kathryn, to have your list going!

I need to head out in a few minutes for my workout, which was rescheduled yesterday. I'm in decent shape for a.m. routine. When I'm done with workout I need to head home immediately for a phone call appt at 11:30 about mentoring an individual that is "on the clock" preparing a portfolio. After that it's grocery store and Michaels for framing.

I got a LOT done outside today, because our weather is... "Wow!" Not much wind, so I did a lot of burning. Dh had a lot of cardboard in the garage and the old post from the mailbox. I had 2 huge boxes full of cardboard plus a bag of paperwork. I buy the large paper "Happy Birthday" bags from the dollar store to put beside my desk so I can burn the bag and everything in it.

Dh has already done seasonal change overs on 2 cars this morning. One was mine and one was our neighbour next door. All 16 of the tires were already on rims, so it was 2 fast and easy jobs.

I also raked under the 2 pine trees in the front yard because there were pine cones all over the front yard. I also spread out the 3 bags of sand that were under the pantry window.

There are 2 cat dishes and a small bowl in the sink. There is also a clean load of dry laundry in the dryer that I just remembered.

House looks really clean now that the recycling has all been taken outside. Dh is sweeping the corners of the garage. There was sawdust from when he cut the old post into pieces on his table saw before I burned it.

I sat outside and read for a while before I came in to post this.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Best news I could have heard.
LucyLee - That is a huge WOW about your DMom.

I'm on hour #4 of my day and am feeling accomplished by completing the tasks assigned to each of those hours.

Today is Incentive Reward Day at school That means DD11 is in the big city watching Dodgers game. She has absolutely no interest in sports but will enjoy the day because it means talking non-stop with friends and not sitting in the classroom. DS14 got to choose what to do with his day and it wasn't a surprise that he chose work.

After DS14 got off work yesterday, he teamed up with a friend that is a girl, to check the liquids in her vehicle. They were in our driveway doing that when he got a call to help open a swimming pool. It required changing the sand in filter, so it was a several hour efforts. DS14 got home from that job at 9:30pm last night. He was up and gone to primary job at 8 this morning. He detests downtime and loves keeping busy.

On the menu today -
** Fajitas
** pancakes
** Baked potato bar at church tonight

I've fallen behind. We've had a lot of phone calls here and I have to stop when it is the hospital so I can scribe if necessary.

Plus I'll be preaching Mother's Day in a rural village.

My first desk work was to find the surface and create an Off My Mind list while doing that. Which meant I knew I was free on Mother's Day to preach because I had just gone over the worship committee notes adding things I have to do to the OMM list.

Of course, I didn't consider that I might be over stretching things a bit. May 14 is a lot sooner than I first thought!

Dh is watching a movie in the living room so that means the living/dining room dusting and vacuuming hasn't happened. I vacuumed the office instead and dusted the dining room. Plus cleaned the bathroom vents.

Even so I'm behind now. Theoretically my breakfast break was from 11 - 11:30 but I didn't start it until now.

Had trouble getting to sleep last night but still managed a decent # of hours overall.

DS-A called a while ago and I've been in the 'upset' stage ever since. He first wanted to know if dh had an "I've fallen & can't get up alarm" which he does not. Think I skirted that issue. Then he said he's been going out to camp each day to check on Dh and felt he was somewhat disoriented today. Know he didn't work yesterday and I think he mostly napped. Here I find myself again with wondering how in the world I'm going to manage getting up home and getting our car there. This whole situation is keeping me on the verge of tears (or in it) a good share of the time. I'm certainly not enjoying my time here right now. Part of me just wants to start throwing everything in suitcases and be on my way. (I'm trying hard to be ultra organized about it and I hate to let that go.)

DD will be back home tomorrow afternoon and maybe she and I can figure things out. But then she leaves again next Wednesday morning for San Fran for several days as a chaperone with a video team from another school. I definitely would like to be gone before she leaves again. I'm just in such a quandry.

Been once again tweaking my 'doing lists' and trying to find my 'best fit'. I know I have way too many things on my daily lists -even here.

Have an appointment with my hairdresser at 3:30 for a cut. Dsonil is leaving the same time to go pick up dd's car at the dealership and take his in. That's another part of my quandry -I know he's going to need our car and I somewhat hate to take it away. Their VW is still here but that's not running either and since they've always managed to be sure we had a vehicle I hate to take this one away from him this next week. But OTOH he "could" take dd to work in the morning. What am I saying??? That would mean he'd have to be up and out the door by 5:45 or so. Anyway I'll be praying for an answer to my prayers will soon come to me. If I thought DGS23 could come down and drive back with me I'd be fine if I had a light at the end of the tunnel. But I know he has to work at least for the forseeable future.

Hope your day goes well, Kathryn -and everyone else who happens by the village today.

Going to work (again) on my packing list. Hope it's exemplary.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Just finished blow drying my hair. Came home from class, ate my breakfast, did my routines and then took a shower.

It’s been lightly raining for most of the day which we really need. Meantime I am just piddling around the house.
