Hi!

I am SO happy that it's May. In this area, it's the month that pools are being opened and gardens are being planted. The gardening doesn't really start getting going until the third weekend, which is a long weekend.

I had almost nothing to do this morning. I did sweep a couple of floors, but I did NOT mop anywhere yet. I did so much yesterday. Too bad I wasn't wearing my fitbit. I've gotten a rash from the strap, so I stopped wearing it until the red mark disappears.

It's a gorgeous looking day with a very bright start with a glorious sun rise. Too bad it's so darn windy.

We are having dh's mom's fried/baked chicken. I have told dh that he has to help me, because I think I've made it twice. Lots of mess. Honestly, this chicken doesn't excite me.

I am up. Got to bed way too late.

Bed is stripped and remade, the sheets are in the washer. Dh gets his weighted blanket back this week since he's allowed to lift 20 pounds and it is 17 or 18. I'm also dressed and just finishing up light therapy and tea (chocolate is long gone!)

I hope I can kick myself into gear soon. First up, I need to drain the water from the containers, at least another 3 quarts. And water plants. After that, maybe do some writing.

I'm back home from taking BLUE HAIR DD11 to school. I don't have an opinion about hair color, but it does get a bit of attention.

Today is my second attempt to get the 12th (and final) evenity treatment. I'm going to a different infusion therapy place today. While in the city, DH and I will eat out and do some pantry restock shopping. We will be watching the clock to make sure we are back in time to get DD11 from school.

Monthly threads are started up today,
for inspiration, accountability, camaraderie or even complaining, anytime that's necessary!

Mystery! Yipes! about photos. I see where you posted in December A,C and N thread that you were wanting to post a photo to show us and were not able to do it. I missed that completely, even though I later commented in January on the eventual link you set up to show elsewhere. (So, this confirms I sometimes have only half a brain.) Were you able to figure out what happened or let us help... .. Can't have you experiencing bright thoughts  out there and us not benefitting!

Hope LadyM's dd enjoys her individuality today.

Desk Day here.

I'll be sitting in a waiting room later today with books and some hand-piecing.

Morning…

Migraine woke me up again, but I was able to get it under control. I finished watering my flowers and plants and showed a Sweetie what to do while I’m gone. I’ll write up a chart to help him remember.

I was able to contact a fellow here who drives people in our community to the airport, so that is done and I don’t have to worry about it. I have laundry going so Sweetie will have he will have plant to wear while I’m gone

Next up is getting my suitcase put together. I’ve collected all my meds and they are ready to pack. That’s something that takes up a lot of my time. I am charging my kindle and have my packing list ready to check my things off. I lay out everything I need prior to packing so I make sure I don’t forget anything

Need to do my nails after I pack. We’re going to grab dinner because Sweetie wants to go to the back and where we eat is right next to it. I like to eat out the night before I travel so I don’t have to worry about doing the dishes and I can decompress after a busy day.

Thankfully the weather looks good so I don’t have to worry about traveling with them

LadyM… Nancy’s idea with gum for gophers is a good one. However if it were me I would Google how to get rid of them. Gophers not only tunnel but also make rooms in their tunnels which can be quite extensive. They build a room to store their food, a room where they sleep and a room where they eat.

We tried the gum, plus gummy worms but neither works. Some people trap them while others use gas to kill them. One of Sweeties friends who lived on a farm had a huge problem with them eating everything in sight. He tried multiple things to get rid of them and ended up hooking up his trucks exhaust pipe with a hose and sticking it down the gophers hole. That did work, there are other ideas on the net on how to get rid of them. Sweetie finally took a hose, stuck it down the holes and flood them out.

Good luck with yours

Thank you, Mods for the monthly threads. Seeing H&F earlier inspired me to enter all my weight readings for the last two months in my spreadsheet. I'm ten lbs down from my bloated 1 January weight, actually. And about seven lbs down from where I evened out by 10 January. Very slow but I'm good with it.

I need to s2s and walk the ddog. Finishing up my healthy breakfast right now. This week's goal is to get ready for the beach, but I've also written down a lot of other things that I'd like to get done before going away. This is a crazy month. Dh is gone three days this week, then we're away for two weeks, then right away he's away for another three days, just when I need some alone time!

At the end of the month, I go to Richmond VA for a genealogy conference. There, will meet, in person, the four women that I've been with in the accountability group - we're gone more than two years now, and two of us are certified, the other one certified is nearly an AG too. Third is nearly an AG and teaching courses and coordinating an institute class. The fourth will submit her portfolio within the next three months. The last is working on her portfolio, perhaps not very hard, but she joined us six months in. We've come a long way.

Anyway, I need to be moving this a.m! The dog is fussing at me!

Hi all. It's a beautiful day here, lovely blue sky and a slight breeze. Pretty warm outside too. I remember living up north when I had a huge veggie garden. The next door farmer used to go through the garden and cultivate it with his big tractor and equipment. Otherwise I never could have done that big a patch. But up there we knew not to plant before Memorial Day. That was the turning point and planting before that was never good, and right after we crossed our fingers.

Winters and fall I worked hard on the house. Spring and summer I was outside in the garden every day and then canning in the kitchen. Here, if we don't plant by April, it gets too hot for the plants. 2nd plantings are October. September is still too hot. But if we don't get stuff planted timely we might freeze out some plants or have to cover a lot. It's all completely different here and the stores haven't figured that out correctly. Seeds come in way too late. Plants already grown are a bit more timely. I complained to a manager once when I was really trying to garden more here and he wasn't receptive to what I was telling him.

So, I've been cleaning around in the house, floors are in good shape. Going to deep clean the office bathroom next. It is nice that the commode works properly now. I must put some knee pads on, I wore out my right knee with the gutter work, up and down ladders, and it never really recovered 100%. Told DH we both can't be down at the same time. Why he says. To which I replied, "who will cook and clean for us?"
