Wondering Wednesday
Aside from wondering how Dee and her family are doing, what has you wondering today?
Or is Wednesday your wandering day?

Re: Wondering Wednesday
I'm wondering if I can get the high priority things done today.
I'm wandering over to dd's. She's too ill to go to dgs's appointment today so will be doing it virtually. I suggested that I take him to the place and she attend virtually. She's going to see if that is possible. I'm not keen on her keeping cancelling all his appointments (cuz we're sick) so professionals can't keep an eye on him. There has been illness in the house at least 8 days now, possibly 10 but both kids (and dsil for that matter so he could come with me to the appointment and since I'm driving he'd only miss an hour, not 2.5 hours of work) are fine.
It was cool last night so I opened the windows to cool off the apartment since the a/c broke after working 24 hours. At 12:15 I was woken by a jackhammer. The road below us is a major artery (leading to the only bridge to Quebec not downtown) and needs refinishing. So they have to do the work overnight in order to keep the traffic manageable. It is a 'Drive' so only 2 lanes, one in each direction. They shut one lane and work on that and alternate the cars on the other lane with police controlling access. This starts about 8 at night so traffic is continually backed up until 10ish with people unaware of the night-time work trapped on the road. There don't appear to be warning signs anywhere (we walk the neighbourhood as well as drive it and I haven't seen any signs up and as that road is one of two exits out of our neighbourhood there are no signs telling us about the work either. Sigh....
So I shut the bedroom windows, put on the fan to drown out noise and provide air flow, and put on a podcast in my earbuds to cancel out the noise. Dh tossed and turned a lot while I was going to sleep so he was bothered by the noise but he can't sleep with sound in his ears like I do (it silences the voices in my head and if it is boring, I drift off to sleep - but with dh his brain focuses fully on the sound and he can't sleep.) So he had a bad night. I had an OK sleep after than but woke at 5 due to the light coming into the room from the hallway reflecting the sun coming into the spare bedroom, bouncing off the far wall and into my room. Construction was over for rush hour and so I opened the windows (nice breeze), then dozed until 6:30. So a total of 7 hours of proper sleep instead of the 7.5 I was going for. Unfortunately, the PM2.5 in the air was high enough to trigger a headache and sore throat so I didn't doze deeply. It isn't high risk at all, I'm just super sensitive to it.
I've dealt with the FB group today (we are all upset about the a/c and now many lost a night's sleep because their apartments were to hot to close windows since they don't get a cross-breeze.)
The apartment is shut up for the day now and the air filters running.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
I've been wondering about Dee as well.
Dh was going to go fishing this morning, but now he wants to take me out to breakfast instead. I want to wander over to a garden centre to the west of us. They are closing in August and their sign said that clay pots are 50% off right now. I also need to pick up so dirt somewhere and finally get this little garden going for the year.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Ds called to see if I could babysit today until 7:45. Uhhmmm no. While I could combine dgs2 with the grands at their house (since the other two aren't sick), I still have to work on that church service whenever I can and another distraction would be bad. He then asked if dh could do it until 3:30. Nope, he's attending a conference online from 9 - 3. I hate saying no but, NO!
I'm off the shower now.
While on the phone with ds, I slipped a bit on a very slippery part of the hall floor. Dh is slipping on it too and asked if I sprayed it with polish. Hahahahaha! To do that would require me to have been dusting with polish, that hasn't happened since, maybe, April (if not then, February.) As I had been opening up the boxes of purchases there, I thought maybe it was some fine dust/powder on the floor. But I would have thought the vacuuming would fixe that. Apparently not. I also noted fine dust on the controls of the air filter this morning (which is next to the slippery spot) so now I think it might be larger smoke particles or pollen drawn to that spot by the air filter. I sprayed the floor with vinegar and water and dried it off. No sign of anything on the cloth but we'll see if it is better.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Morning….
I’m up and just finished my flax seed muffin and second cup of coffee. Watching Law and Order while I eat, a treat for me.
Have some desk work to do and then it’s off to WM and a few other errands.
Thinking of Dee too.
See y’all later ….

Re: Wondering Wednesday
I lost a post when I allowed my computer to update without posting.
I too am wondering about Dee and praying for her return to health.
Nothing hard on our schedule today except for dinner out tonight with dfriends V and A. Yesterday was A's birthday so I'm glad we can do it. I haven't seen them in weeks - perhaps since they left the beach a month ago in June? Dh saw them the weekend I was away in Richmond.
I started laundry already but otherwise haven't done much. We're expecting rain/t-storms this afternoon so I'll be happy to stay in. My head was swirling with genealogy projects/things to research when I got home from Richmond but that's all escaped me now. Never got it written down, unfortunately. My head now is swirling with just things to do.
I am going to take a hard line with dh about traveling and even overscheduling for awhile.

Hello bw2! I'm glad to see you posting.
Kathryn, so sorry your sleep was so interrupted. I slept like a baby and was awake at 7:30 and feel rested. You have a busy busy day going.
RR, I enjoy hearing about your herons and moorhens. I had to look up moorhens - I hadn't heard of them and they don't seem to be TN natives.
Going to focus for 45 min - from TOTH to :15 before. That includes cooking and eating my breakfast, too. Anything on the a.m. routine list.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
I texted with Dee daughter this morning and posted an update in J&C. ((((Dee))))
This afternoon I have a consultation with an Endodontist for a decision on whether the molar can be saved. While I'm in the city I want to do a pantry restock effort.
Tonight I'm playing with the babies & toddlers in the nursery during church service.
