Thirsty (Hydrating) Thursday
And the heat continues. Remember to drink plenty of water, and add in some gaterade or equivalent if you're out in the heat today. Be safe!

Re: Thirsty (Hydrating) Thursday
I have been up a while and got to my journal and planning, one more journal entry to do. Getting some clarity that helps. Yea!
Took my rx and food did some stretching.
Moderate temps here today yea.
Hydration is a good thing to remember for me.
I slept well again so grateful for that.
Thinking of you all.
I did a bit on the counters it was needed more to do in another round later.
I have a plan for lunch and my dinner.
Dd & I talked last night on the phone instead of getting together today as I needed another rest day and she had something to do while temps. were cooler here.
Today's Tip; I have a fav. goblet for my hydreation.
Waving water toast clink get out the pretty goblet for you sparking ice water.

Re: Thirsty (Hydrating) Thursday
Alternate theme for today was "TIRED Thursday" because I am. I think I've gone too hard and I'm crashing!
I walked only two laps with dog this a.m. - it's warm and humid. Probably no worse than earlier in the week but I'm feeling it more. I took out chicken breasts and brats out of the freezer to grill at the lunch break today. By the time we're done at 6:30 it's so hot to go out and grill. I haven't done a real grocery store trip so there's not a lot to eat here.
I need to s2s still. Zoom starts at 10:30 today.

~~~Waving Hello to all~~~~~
I'm off to a good start today.
I am slowly putting habits back into place that make daily life easier. Simple things like spending 2-minute spraying/wiping down the bathroom each day. I don't notice how much difference those 2 minutes make until I stop doing it. The bathroom stays looking good and doesn't seem to get dirty when I do that quick 2-minute daily habit. I want more of these types of tiny habits in my life!
I'm a huge fan of daily electrolytes. We notice a difference when we stop using them.
Re: Thirsty (Hydrating) Thursday
Hello. I appreciated the talk about A1C. From my recent test, it was 5.6 which is just a shade into NOT prediabetic according to our lab here. I had been running a point or 2 higher than that so this was better. I am not on any meds.
RRose, yes, cracked lips. Blek! I have a problem with water. My sodium runs low, was low off the charts for a while and both doctors were concerned. My brain med causes that to happen. I've been told not to drink lots and lots of water. Electrolytes is ok but the problem with that is there's lots of sugar in those unless one does the sugar free... and I don't do artificial sugar either. For some people, artificial sugar is a trigger for seizures so I stay away. Never had a problem with it, but I'm not chancing it either. I've been told not to limit table salt of any kind and not stay away from salty stuff.
I didn't get here yesterday as I was very busy. DH came and got me to use the hand-held vibrator on his back and hip which he said was very sore. He just looked sick to me and was walking very very slow... and I was around him quite a bit. I thought he looked fevered and took his temperature which was 102.5...whoa! Then I heard the loose deep cough.... and I checked him for Covid and guess what? Instant deep colored line... so finally after all this time one of us has it.
I am busy wiping everything in sight and continually washing my hands and he's not good at staying back in his room by himself... generally he just thinks the germs are everywhere so what's the difference.
I told him if he wouldn't isolate then I'd have to. So he's back in his room... and hopefully he won't overdose himself with the meds he has back there. He has always thought if a little bit didn't help, more is better.
sigh....My hands don't do well with constant washing or with chemicals, especially bleach-type stuff...so this is very hard. Presently I'm washing dishes with the sani rinse in the dishwasher. It will be a miracle if I don't catch this. I've been giving him Vit C and zinc...who knows if that really helps or not. sigh....
Re: Thirsty (Hydrating) Thursday
(((Harmony)))) I'm sorry you're having to deal with covid in your home. We had covid in our home last year with DD12 and I was shocked that I didn't get it because I was with DD12 all through the day/nights to keep a check on her. DH and I got covid for the first time last month. I'm fairly certain we got it from friends who just returned from a cruise and brought covid home with them. All those years of worrying about covid and thankfully the worry & fear was MUCH worse than the reality. I hope your DH gets over it as easily. I would seek Paxlovid for him if it is possible. Our family doc wouldn't give it to us so we decided to use different treatment. I do think Mucinex, vit c and zinc are worth taking.
Unasked for advice - Make plans for you to be sick for 5 days with reduced activity. Get drinks and food available now for the next week or find a business or friend that will deliver food & necessary things to your porch. Worse case is you will be over prepared.
Re: Thirsty (Hydrating) Thursday
Thank you LadyM. I have no symptoms right now and am feeling fine so I guess I will go out while I can and stock up. I am low on soup, other stuff that would be helpful. These germs are just everywhere I guess. I had bought some mucinex but now I can't find it.
It is just the wrong time for this. I am hanging on, trying to get him through his dental appointments before we can schedule the knee...though he keeps telling me that stuff can wait... and some of it can but not all of it I guess. So this will probably put off the next appointment which is just 5 days from now. It could be he will test normal by then, but I don't know, it would be right on the edge....
Re: Thirsty (Hydrating) Thursday
I have been to knitting and back.
I've also talked to accountant on the phone.
We are going to go out for KFC tonight. It's very overcast here with black clouds to the east and south. Humid!
Drinking lots of fluids. Not doing anything outside.
Re: Thirsty (Hydrating) Thursday
I have washed my hair and showered.
Made crock pot ch. zucchini bread yummy just sayin'!
I used brownie mix as a base added applesauce instead of half of the butter & milk instead of water added cinn. & 1 c. grated zucchini.
This is a keeper! Bagged up most to freeze for later. My plan worked this is for using the crock pot when I do not want to heat up the oven in the hot months. Did the dishes and put them away too. Giving brownie points away today LOL!
Had some toms. from my garden when I watered earlier.
Rested then walked in the shade outside in the yard to limber up.
Got out my ipb. and forgot to take it
who does that?
So considering that I am doing well well today.
Almost to my step going for this part of my day some of it was arms however sh-h that's a secret.
Got some of the chicken in the cooked package I got divided up and froze it up for later.
Frose the brownies also.
Glad to have that done and it is off my mind now.
Re: Thirsty (Hydrating) Thursday
Our pantry restocking list was getting long so DH and I made a trip to the city. I order almost everything online to be shipped to the house with the exception of cold things. We don't have a delivery service as an option so we must go to the store to get cold items. Because we knew exactly what items we wanted to buy we quickly filled our cart and got out of there.
I made my first salsa of the 2023 garden season this morning. I have resisted making salsa because i cook it on top of the stove in a big pot for hours. I didn't want to add that much heat and humidity to the house. However, I exceeded my patience in waiting for the weather to cool down and decided to make salsa regardless of the heat. It turned out so tasty. DH and I were being a little silly with the moaning with pleasure as we were eating it.
