hello dh and I ran errands and brought the dogs.
cleaners, Walgreens, grocery store, hardware store done.

hello d Harmony! I hope that the dark clouds make way to clear sunny skies. I am so sorry you dislike his dr. so much. I wish your dh could find another one that is good.

I think you are too hard on yourself. It's not easy. Sometimes it is easier to handle than other times. It's normal!
Is there something you can do for you and only you?
I hope your stress dissipates and you feel better
how are your dh's sugars?
my dd is saying that as soon as hurricane season ends people start coming back. She doesn't miss the severe heat/humidity but wishes that less people came back

hi d mystery! hope you get a good night sleep tonight! Have a good day too!

hi d twins yay on walking! mmmm - I am sorry I can't resist - pain in the fanny? :D 8-) praying you don't need hip surgery - A very athletic younger woman I know just had one done. She starts back on her hockey team this fall.

hi d lady yay on having a good night sleep! woo hoo for you and you work! thinking of you as you wait for your ultrasound!

d Kathryn welcome home!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

before I go out and get in the wet muck - everything is soaked bc we had five days of rain. - I plan on putting on the stock pot.

I also have put off studying for the Master Gardner program. I find I need to do it during the day when I am not tired even though it takes away some of my work time. I will do that first before making the stock.

Harmony - I don't think you give yourself enough credit for all the plates you keep spinning. You are doing great with moving forward with closing your business and also your DH many medical appts. There are a lot of moving pieces to all the things you are accomplishing. Just because you make it look easy doesn't mean that it is!! Give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back!

DS15 thought his first "big boy" blood draw was easy. However, he wasn't pleased to find out that the doctor had ordered two other tests to be done. He isn't a fan of surprises & unknowns, but he handled it okay. He had his first EKG and a simple urine test.

DS15 negotiated with me to get two treats for his medical visit since they did tests that he didn't expect. I was a weak negotiator and he won easily. I bought him breakfast and he got to skip going to the gym as his treats.

DH and I went to the gym after dropping DS15 off at home so he could get started on his homeschool assignments. DS15 tried to negotiate skipping schoolwork today but that was a hard no from me.

I'm thinking I'm overwhelmed.

The part for the computer arrived this morning. I'm shaking my head. They said they ordered the part on September 6, then canceled it yesterday, created a new work order, shipped the part and it was here today. Something doesn't add up, I should have had the part 3 weeks ago and they've hidden the delay by cancelling the work order and starting a new one.

I'm progressing on getting back in the swing of things. I've got a ton of zone work to do, most of which I'm ignoring still. I have removed the shower curtains in the living room as the sun is far enough south and the days short enough now that direct sun isn't a problem. It is also cool enough at the moment. If we get a heat wave after the radiators are switched to hot water, I may have to put them back, but my plants need more light right now.

I've watered the plants inside and out. I trimmed off the 'babies' on the spider plant so that looks neater and I popped those in jars with water and put those in the glass dish planters I have catching the window leaks. So that looks better (was hidden behind the curtain.) I also dead-headed the African Violet. Outside it appears the plants all lived. Now I to decide if I'm going to try to over-winter any inside. I did buy rooting powder for that project (but I need it for other plant propagation as well). On the other hand, I'm so overwhelmed, I should walk away from that project.

The bedrooms, LR, DR, kitchen are vacuumed and dusted. The office awaits cleaning and then that is done and I'm left with mopping floors and weekly kitchen chores.

The two loads of laundry I waited until today to do are now hanging to dry.

I've opened the mail and responded to two phone calls.

I still have to finish tidying the living room (I pulled out the kiddy table and chair and it need to find a home) and get the dining table set up for the tech to work at tomorrow.

I'm skipping the 4:30 event (I had already said I can't go, then hit the ground running so thought I might try since it incorporates a walk), sent my regards to one meeting, will attend the second, and if that finishes early, I'll run downstairs to the third meeting to see how its going. Or not, since I hate the guy running the meeting. I feel I need to keep an eye on his activity, though.

Office is finished and floors mopped.

Living room is almost completely tidy but a lot of that is by using stash and dash techniques! Before I put the step stool back I checked the bottom of the 'self watering' plant pots on the high shelves of my plant pole and they needed more water to fill them. So that is done.

I also took a close look at the ficus plants I've started from cuttings from our big one, Pierre. They are progressing very well. I need to learn how/when to start braiding the stalks in order to turn them into a tree (eventually.) Pierre is doing so much better since I moved him into more light and stopped watering too much. He lost 2 leaves over the past 3 weeks. Before he was losing 5 a day. I can't really tell if he's looking bushier but I took photos so will be able to compare them. I'll wait another couple of months. The move was a last ditch effort, he was very close to dying completely. Given he's been living with us for over 20 years and was already 4' high when we got him, if he died due to old age that would be OK, but I wasn't sure there wasn't anything more I can do. Of course, the heating season may dry him out badly again and I won't be able to help him much. I never remember to mist him every day.

I'm taking another break while the kitchen floor dries. And that is pretty well now, so I'd better run away again. Not sure what is next up. Probably start the seasonal decoration swap.

Twins - I wonder if chiropractor adjustment could help with your hip alignment. Cryotherapy treatments are becoming very popular here. I've never tried it but hear from many how they get relief.

DS15 requested help with his history and one of the math curriculum assignments. Those are done. The only thing DS15 has left to do is practice guitar and he will do that with DH.

Mac, cheese, hamburger dish is done. The kids are always happy to see that dish made.

Autism testing chatter.....Tuesday night I sought DD12 counselor thoughts about DD requesting to be tested for autism. DD12 counselor provided information about where to get DD12 tested if that is something we decided to do. She told about the same out of state place where we had DS15 tested in 2015. Last night I sought advice from a trusted lifelong friend who was a SPED teacher for decades and has observed DD12 both in school & growing up over the past few years. I wanted to hear her thoughts on DD12 requesting to be tested for autism. Talking with both professionals my main purpose was to seek someone who has vast experience to talk me out of my reluctance to have DD12 tested. I am somewhat surprised that they both gave similar feedback and thought my reluctance was valid. They didn't know of any benefit the testing would provide but they both had similar feedback on possible negative results that could never be overcome. Soooo.....bottom line....as of now, we are choosing to not have DD12 tested for autism.

I'm home again. Great workout, he had me moving from exercise to exercise more quickly than I've done in the past, and jumping on the bike or stair for some quick cardio. I get different workouts with the two different trainers. A third is there in the morning, and dh often works with her. After workout I went to the bank at that end of town and treated myself to an iced latte for finally getting that done. And I stopped at drugstore and got a flu shot. Too early for COVID since I just had it. I think I should also get the pneumonia vaccine as an adult over 65. I wanted to read a little more about it.

I don't know about chiropractic work LadyM. I've never been much of a believer - I think too many times they want you to commit to weekly sessions for twenty weeks or some crazy schedule and my massage therapist (whom I highly respect) isn't crazy about them. He does know a couple that he recommends and I nearly got to the point of trying it for the Trigeminal neuralgia.

I need to walk the dog then I will try for a quick shower. I called for "call ahead" seating at 5:30 at the neighborhood restaurant that we go to often.

LadyM: that was a tough decision but if dd decides she needs testing in the future when she's an adult, she can do so. Until then, perhaps it is best to not let her label herself. Keep an eye on it though because if she starts to diverge too far from, she should have help developing coping strategies before she decides she prefers not being part of society.

I think that is my dd's issue. She started to get 'odd' when surrounded by people just like her at university. On one hand, she was finally among her 'own kind' (her words.) So that tells me she didn't feel like she fit in as a teen. On the other hand, she's now decided she is "on the spectrum" and using that as an excuse to not fulfill her responsibilities. Like getting medical care for dgs. She can't because she's too overwhelmed by all she has to do and she can't manage it. She also won't be around people. I'm thankful the grands are in school since that puts other adults' eyes on the grands and they are pushing hard for physio and occupational therapy for dgs. Who absolutely refused to do either or cooperate at the few appointments he has (and dd doesn't make more appointments because 'there is no use taking him since he won't cooperate.') She is still using Covid as an excuse for the kids to not have friends over or to go to friends' houses (inside, they are allowed to go play outside.)

******

Twins: I decided to go ahead and take the cottage for next year. I sent an email and got the reply: "WOO HOO!! I can’t think of anyone I would rather have in my home." Ds said he's go and dd's godparents will come up for overnight stays as well so this is something to look forward to.

Sausage, potatoes, onions and peppers have all been cooked a bit and now they are all playing in the Dutch oven in the oven together. I put the "honey garlic" sausages into the oven. The "medium Italian" sausages are being cooked separately in the frying pan I used to cook the peppers and onions.

Furnace repair guy that came today looked over the job that the previous 2 guys did in July. Apparently the chimney isn't to code. They didn't replace the original pipe that goes up through the roof, so now that has to be ordered and replaced. I told dh I'm so glad this is all being found now instead of in colder weather. We are still getting warm days and (hopefully) no snow for at least another month. The thermostat wasn't replaced today.

Dh brought me 2 prescriptions that I needed to order on the phone. That is done.

LadyM after I saw that comment the other day, I was wondering if your dd feels like she needs a "label", and because she is a pre teen female (which we have all been) perhaps she thinks whatever she is going through (as a regular pre teen female) plus her memories must equal "I need a label". She also sees/hears her brother asking to be tested for asthma, and she doesn't want to be left out. There might be a lot of other girls she knows that are being tested for various things and now that they have "labels" she wants one so she feels like she's part of the in crowd. I'm most likely way out of line here, please forgive me.
