Happy birthday to Cathy & Sunny!!!

I wanted so badly to start the month off right and post here yesterday, but the day just got away from me.

I guess I am managing Monday fairly well.
It's LAUNDRY day here, and I have NOT done any laundry * so far *, but I have done the following:
(All errands with dh --)
* paid dmom's storage unit fee (dropped off at the place)
* post office
* paid water bill
* paid another bill to radio station, but owner wasn't in today, will do that later
(this is a promo-thing that helps him keep AU football on air)
* deposited checks into dmom's account
* went to drug store


Dgrands are spending the night with us because ddil has an early morning appt tomorrow and she doesn't know if she will be able to drive afterwards, so ds is going with her. They won't be here till after supper time, though, so it will be a short night.
Dentist called and * thank goodness * they cancelled my appt for later in the week. I am STILL fighting a sore throat and was really considering cancelling again... so I was glad to get that call.

DH is still fighting gout/arthritis/whatever. Both his feet and calves are bothering him. Yesterday he sent me to dmom's to borrow her walker.

Harmony, your time and peace of mind is worth something. If it seems reasonable at all to let this guy get the shop/business materials, I'd say let him have it. I know we probably lost some money with dmil's stuff... but OTOH, a bird in the hand, and all that.

I need to change sheets also, but dh is sleeping in the bed right now.

Once again, thank you all for the birthday wishes.

Other than eating meals/food prepared by others, I have spent my day reading and playing on the computer and knitting. I also went to a grocery store and purchased myself some treats.

It has not been a great day here. DH has told me he thinks this guy is too expensive. He doesn't know how to do this stuff himself either. But he's not willing to let the scaffolding go with the company getting 40%. I suggested we try to negotiate the percentage on this one item. Plus we have no idea how we'll get it down off the hooks up toward the ceiling. We've always just had an employee to do it or if someone wanted to borrow it they'd get it down. We have a system for that, but I don't know if I am strong enough to do it and I know he isn't.

Then tonight he tells me there's someone who wants help fixing his house. He says they know he can't do this work, and they'll have to pull their own permit as homeowner. I'm just beside myself. I know there is someone in the neighborhood who borrowed a couple roofing shovels (the kind they use to remove old shingles) and recently they just brought them back. So it's probably these people who are working on their house. This is some sort of work inside their house. I'm really upset about all this. He's talking about not getting rid of all the tools just yet. We had talked about some things, I asked about his tile saw (for floor tiles) and he said he might want to keep some things so he can do some things.....

I thought he had this all worked out in his head. Now he's backing up and too many people know he is a handy guy...plus he keeps mentioning the work the church had wanted to do (widen a sidewalk etc.). I'm at my wits end with it all right now.
