I had some wonderful surprises today!

My neighbor, behind me, has had weeds galore (10 ft. x 100 ft) - lots of thistle and thistle (I call it a migraine plant). He and his family cleaned the whole thing out - It is beautiful!!!! He does have junk maple trees that he is letting grow - it will hit into my bed as it is so close but for now I am thrilled. it has been a weed trap for 25 years. it's wonderful!

My winter wheat is up and it is beautiful! I shall see what happens this spring but for now, I am thrilled. I need to add more seed in different areas.

laundry flipped - put away two loads of laundry
played with the dogs
put out my new trellis. I need to order two more to give us some privacy. I am not sure what to grow on it yet.
dw is done and needs emptying but family brought their dishes down to the sink  but I don't mind so much bc I am enjoying having all of us together.
kitchen swept

next:
lunch
dining room work
sweep the family room (I did major family room work yesterday)
water pots
feed birds and water birds
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I went out and made a purchase. Fig and Rosemary balsamic vinegar, a nice printed tea towel and package of seasonal paper cocktail napkins. This store is like eye candy as far as I'm concerned. Beautiful things! They use the nice brown paper gift bag with lots of tissue paper, the sticker with their big initial on it and a ribbon. Very posh looking.

I'm going to have lunch and then head upstairs.

LadyM, I also need to go through those seasonal bins and get rid of some things. I used to decorate more than I do now

bw2, you are getting a lot done. I need to round my focus up somehow, seems to have slipped away somewhere? or maybe take a small bite of the elephant?

DD just texted that she think she's going to quit her job. She says it's not the culture or environment that she wants to be in for her mental health.... I can't fault that. Focus focus focus.

hi d lady
yay on hourly goals being done!
some of these activities - finding bugs to put on a board seems like it could be done with getting pictures of bugs instead of killing them and having to put a pin through them.
I am so happy the pain is gone - hoping the pressure disappears!
I bet your home will be beautiful with the fall decorations!

My d sis in law had to order a chicken killed and pull the bones and put it together again - a city community not a farm community. It scared her. some things need to be let go of.

d mystery it's so nice that the area is nice again!!!
We will be at the Bridgeport art center -Bridgeport is beautiful but this is at the edge of the back of the yards neighborhood. There are some beautiful parts of the Southside and many areas surrounded by very dangerous areas. My brother in law, who is a police lieutenant, in the city, is not happy about this. I am worried about my girls driving home late at night but it is supposed to be chilly so hopefully groups (young people) will stay home. Chicago used to be safer when the Dailey son was the mayor. The police can't stop the large groups (mostly teens and 20's) anymore who attack stores.

Hope your dd feels better soon!!! my daughter is on ADHD meds and says that it makes her body feel completely at edge - she says it's an uncomfortable feeling. praying for your dd to feel less stressed!!!

hello everyone! time to do my thing.

HI D TWINS!!!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

My heart is hurting for dd. She's texting me about quitting job. It sounds like a terrible situation for her but she's feeling to depressed about it to deal with it well.

And I want to focus.

Hello…

My neurologist put me on a preventative meds for migraines when I was him this week. It’s also used for people with high blood pressure. It’s side affects can be tiredness, dizziness and a drop in BP, which means I need to check mine several times a day.

I have a very good friend that I’ve known since 8th grade who is in the medical field and who’s suffered a heart attack. I took my first dose last night and didn’t fall asleep till after midnight, so this morning I woke up very tired. Talked to him this morning because he at one point took this same med. He told me it took several days for him to adjust to the meds and he was was very tired as well so I know this is just part of it.

I didn’t make it to my class or coffee gathering because I am so tired.

Anyway I’ve done very little around the house. For the first time in over two weeks I don’t have a headache so we’ll see how this goes during the next few days. I’m really looking forward to feeling better.

I talk to myself all the time…always have and so did my mom, only she would muddier under her breathing saying things she didn’t have the courage to say out loud…sure this developed for her while living with my dad.

(((Hugs)))) No matter how old our "kids" are our Momma hearts hurt when they are struggling.

Blessed - Thank you for sharing the idea of printing out picture of insects. DD12 said the teacher wouldn't accept that. I asked if the teacher said she would not accept pictures and DD12 said the project is for real bugs. I countered that if DD12 couldn't find the required 25 bugs that supplementing pictures for missing number of bugs might get her a partial grade for that effort.

Last week DD12 7th grade science class spent 2 days catching fish. They walked to the local pond carrying their fishing poles, fished, and then walked back to school carrying their fish & poles. After 2 days they had caught enough fish (mostly crappie) for everyone. Then the next day they dissected the fish they had caught. DD12 enjoyed the fishing at pond part of this project but did not do well in dissecting. DD12 said her teacher came along side of her and did it. It was a memorable week in the science class for sure!

5th & 6th hourly goals met
More baby steps made….
** Watered some in the garden - Asparagus, thyme, peppers, and butternut squash.
** Harvested - peppers and sweet potatoes.
** Rabbit care - moved their cages to fresh grass, feed and watered.
** Refilled the 22 individual containers of dry ingredients for smoothies. I finished up the vanilla protein powder and am now trying unflavored for the first time ever. I wanted to try unflavored because the ingredient list only has one item. However, it requires some thought on my part how I want to flavor the smoothies.
** Made pumpkin spice flavored smoothie. I didn't get the flavor perfect but close.
** Updated Cronometer and analyzed the data it gives. One again I notice the need for daily greens. It is hard to hit all my vitamin & mineral goals when I don't eat some deep greens (spinach/turnip/mustard). It doesn't take much (1/2 cup) but it does take consistence in order to happen daily. I am getting close to two weeks with no bread. I didn't intentionally stop eating bread, but I was just focusing on getting the most nutrition from the food I was choosing. Last week I noticed several skin tags disappeared within a few days of each other….weird…Did they fall off because I stopped eating bread or why ???. I do intend to eat bread again, but I want to ferment it (sourdough) and see how that affects my body. I'm not ready to devote the focus to making sourdough bread right now so that is a someday project.

Well, I am definitely not focused on anything and I can't really remember when I was!
I can't even make myself get up and do the five minutes LadyM suggested to me once!
I'm telling myself it is this continuing cough that has left me tired like this, and that if my body is calling for rest, then maybe I need rest. But I don't know when it goes from "listening to my body" to just plain laziness.

(((TWINS))) I do know what you mean about your dd and how it just drains you and makes you feel heartsick about her.
DDIL is in this same situation -- her job has just about sucked the life out of her. It sounded great, but then it became more of a situation where she was doing her job and somebody else's too, and sometimes two other people's. If they were short-handed, she had to fill in, and still do the stuff required in the new position. She has finally had enough, I think, and she is waiting to hear from an interview right now.

We saw a picture of dgs holding a baby alligator this morning! He looks like he has had so much fun on this trip. I can't wait to hear all about it -- although from past experience, when asked, "What did y'all do?" DGS will say, "Lots of stuff. Too much to tell."
I have saved all the FB pictures he was in and I am hoping that as we look through the pictures, we'll get more details!
DDIL says their house has certainly been quiet without him.

(((Rose)))

Rose, your comment about your dmom muttering under her breath makes me think of Mammy in GWTW... "It ain't fittin', it ain't fittin'..."

I have to sympathize with dd12, LadyM... bugs... ugh.
Also hoping you get some information and relief from the * possibly * gall bladder pain.

(((HUGS))) for your dd, too, Mystery.

The Robertson family IS very inspiring. The way the movie shows it, his problem with alcohol happened very quickly -- he went from zero trouble at all to the point that it was wrecking his marriage almost overnight. I'm sure they had to gloss over some things for the sake of movie time constraints. But however it happened, it definitely messed his life up in a big way. It is amazing how God changed his life and saved his family. And it's amazing how his wife had the strength and faith to wait for God to work in his life.
Tomorrow is another day.
