I am getting tired.
mom has been here for about 5 hours - we did pick up pumpkins with both dd's
Mom and I put together chicken stock makings in the pot and it is simmering for the next couple hours
I made a pie crust and did not realize that I my new pie pan in my car -(dd younger borrowed my car to see my d gr. nieces baseball game in Evanston). She left her dog here. (it's good she is having time on her own).
second load of dishes are now washing in the dishwasher. I know what I should do but I would love to sleep.
my dogs are sleeping next to my mom - one on the floor and one next to d mom. Never thought I would see the day! amazing! dd's dog is on the floor in the kitchen.

okey dokey wash the counters, sink, stove top, kitchen table
sweep the floor in the kitchen and rinse.
flip flop laundry
swish and swipe the powder room.
card file go through

so sweet that the cats are enjoying there nap and that your dh is having a cat nap as well!

I really don't know how I missed the fact that I was making 2 styles of potatoes... but I sat down and looked at the food on the table and saw 2 styles of potatoes. Which was okay in the end, as neither one of them came out okay. I messed up the fake mashed potatoes from a box because I didn't measure the milk properly AND I over cooked the other ones, so they ended up with no real shape left. Oh well...

Dh didn't have any stuffing. I asked him why. He has never like stuffing ever since he was a small child. That's okay, I love it. Neither one of us really enjoyed the pie from Costco. I won't go to the bother of buying another one. We both felt the filling was kind of thin. Maybe thin isn't the right word.

There is leftover turkey, leftover mashed turnip and we both agreed that I didn't make enough carrots. I foresee turkey sandwiches for lunch tomorrow.

We sat and watched the KC team beat the guys wearing purple. (Vikings). I like Mahomes. Now dh is watching Duck Dynasty. I think Si is funny. I have just recently started watching this show. I do find a lot of similarities between this show and Blue Bloods/Wahlburgers. All three shows repeat lines about family being important. DD and BB both show the family gathered around the table praying.

Something is up with my brain and I don't know what. I just can't concentrate and am completely overwhelmed. Had tears before dinner. Then my sister called and wasted more of my time. Dh cooked dinner but I told him what and gave him a recipe I usually make but the instructions were clear and it was very good.

I finally got the bulk of the bookkeeping finished this evening. That was 5 - 6 months of data entry and reconciling over 6 accounts (4 credit card, 2 bank.) I still haven't done the cash so I'm not really all done but I need to move on to the residents' group stuff. The last bank account wouldn't reconcile and I couldn't figure out why. It turned out that we didn't receive our transfer from our investment account to cover the rent.

Thankfully, the last thing I did before leaving for Hay Lake and before my computer died at the end of August was take money from our savings account and put it in the chequing account to pay for the two cottage rentals. When I went to pay for the second cottage on September 3, I didn't have enough in the account but I couldn't figure out why because I didn't have a computer, I was working from dh's and it doesn't have access to Quicken. So I moved more from our savings account to pay the cottage bill.

Through this month, I had to move more money into the chequing account and I wondered how it was I was spending so much money. When I finally reconciled, I learned we never got our monthly allowance from the investment account. So no wonder it has been tight this month. I checked and the money didn't come out of the account and get lost, it was never transferred. So I sent an email asking to receive the money this month.

But, no walk. No trip to the store (so no Thanksgiving dinner food bought since I didn't get to the store this week to plan for a meal.)

Church was fine and I did well in my little part. The first two services with this new minister have run long. I'm bracing for complaints. Both were special though, and I've been writing down the time each part of the service starts so we'll have data on what to ask the new minister to cut. The staff is stressed to the hilt because he's blowing through like the wind and flames of Pentecost, literally turning everything upside down. This is his first church since ordination and apparently in his decades of work in his other careers he never learned about people management. I'm ok, I've got a flame proof suit (and approve of a lot of the changes). He might be right, blowing it all up and rebuilding might be the only way to fix our obviously dysfunctional church. But I'm not convinced he actually has a strategy as opposed to this being his personality. If the former, things will work out. If the latter, they won't.

Now it's time for me to start pulling together the bills I'm owed for residents' association expenses. Then I can go to bed.

Got that together and sent. Plus, since I hadn't spent much this year, I ordered a new combination lock for the locker so I can text people the number if they need into it while I'm away.

Tomorrow's focus will be getting up signs notifying people of the meeting.

Kathryn, make sure your sleep is a priority. I believe you still wear a fit bit or gar min or some kind of smart-alecky watch like dd43 gave me. Pay attention to your sleep, "battery" or whatever other word for "how well you're doing" with rest and recuperation.

Prayer meeting last evening was very good and I got to at least watch some of service this morning.

TaDa this afternoon was getting oil changed in my car and new windshield wipers.

Dd25 and I will be out the door early tomorrow. I have an appt and then I take her to the airport. I'll spend the afternoon on high alert, even though there is nothing I can do to help ds and ddil, really.

The next day has nothing scheduled, thank goodness, so I could help them if needed.

Then Wednesday back to appts - one morning and one afternoon. So glad when all these deadlines are over - I need my calendar to calm down.

I have had a conversation with dd and I moved some things out of my butterfly room and
the spare room while we talked.
I got the dishes done. Glad for that progress.
Did some journaling.
Reclaimed my desk again.
Hoping to mow tomorrow as It's a holiday and offices will be closed.
Changed up my plans.
Ugh guest room is on HGP list this week mine in has been the stash n dash landing spot area at the moment ack!
Might need to get the area some attn. next week.

Y’all, I’ve had the best Sunday I’ve had in a long while.
Unfortunately, part of the reason might be that dgs felt bad, and he went to sleep immediately after we got home from church.
BUT — part of the reason was that I exercised some strong self-discipline and did all my “stuff” before we went to Wmart:
Successes:
— washed dishes, put away dishes
— swept kitchen
— wiped down refrigerator, stove, microwave
— watered plant
— did allergy shots

I also talked to my daunt and dmom.
After Dgd and I went to Wmart and put away groceries, I took the trash to the road, and I dried dh’s shower.

We ate supper at Waffle House, had ice cream for dessert, and took the dgrands home.

After we got home, I fell asleep for a little while and now I’m awake, catching up on dvr Dateline.
The only Sunday task I need to do is refill meds for the week.

Dh is still in a real tizzy. He is so worried about his cardiologist appointment on Wednesday. He is so afraid the doctor will want to change something again with his meds,
I have told him to keep in mind that ultimately, the doctor is working for him, and dh should tell him he is just not going to change ANYTHING at this point, especially with the kidney doctor still looming for next month. Yes, his bp is sometimes a bit high, but the problem that brought him to the cardiologist (a-fib) has been solved for six years. There could be some hidden heart issue that dh is unaware of, but there is certainly enough other stuff that dh IS aware of (gout, arthritis, kidneys) that he does not really want to experiment with bp meds at this time.
I told dh if the cardiologist tells him to go home and not come back, it will be a blessing actually — the family doctor can control bp and if heart issues come back, family doctor can recommend someone else.

Dh says he knows this is all true, he just dreads possible “controversy” at this appointment.
