Something is up.... It's 11:00, and nobody else has been here yet. There must be things going on in the SHE world. When you have a minute to poke your head in, come tell us what you've been up to!

I've had a nutritionist appointment today. It was supposed to be this afternoon, but she asked to move it up. This may or may not relate to her leaving the job at the end of the week! Fortunately, she got me set up with another nutritionist starting next month. Thank heavens these visits are virtual, though -- this new nutritionist has her office an hour away!

Today will contain some DPCs. I need to reschedule an appointment with the pulmonologist; we need to try again to get the kids scheduled with the psychiatrist, and we need to get DD scheduled with someone about her ankle pain. We also need to call about the prescription she got for said pain. We didn't get it picked up, and it may have gotten sent back. But the only paper I saw DD come out of the urgent care with was the orthopedist/podiatrist referral, so I don't know if she knows the prescribing doctor or the medication.

I really also ought to call some painters to see if they also do repairs. We need our garage and all our wood trim painted, but there are a few spots that need repairs. I don't think they're big enough to call the construction company, but they need to be done before the painting. There's the added complication that two of the spots seem to be hiding places for animals, so we need to coordinate with a trapper. I've been putting this off all summer, and I don't know if painting season has passed. I know the paint won't dry right below a certain temperature, but I don't know what that temperature is.

In the meantime, I will continue to wonder where you might be! (and hope to see you soon!)

Dh and I went to Burger King for breakfast. I think dh just wanted to get out of the house for a bit.

Leftovers for supper!! Plus I think I might be snacking throughout the day. I know there is a football game this afternoon.

I put a load of washing on. Now I just have to move it over to the dryer.

Hello! In the U.S. it is Columbus Day. I don't know if the banks and post office is closed or not, I should check so I'm not looking for the mail lady all day. Fortunately I didn't have anything that needed to go out. In Canada it is the official Thanksgiving Day, at least that's what my calendar says, so Happy Holiday to you.

Dentist called and moved DH's appointment up from Thursday to Wednesday of this week. I should call the orthopedic Dr. to start making those appointments. I'm dreading all that is ahead for us.

I'm rarely here in the mornings, but I'm wondering where everyone is too. I got busy early today. Yesterday my friend called that she had a rough night and wasn't going to church. I didn't tell her, but I was very grateful because that meant I could stay home. I'm not feeling terrific with this rash and was glad not to have to go out. I did get up but napped a good part of the day because I just wasn't feeling real great. Discovered late afternoon my tummy issues were acting up and it was very very painful this time. Was bad all evening. I ended up taking some OTC med that always seems to help, then so that I could sleep, a left-over pain pill that I'm glad I kept from prior difficulty. So I am feeling somewhat better today and was happy to get going early to get some stuff done.

Changed DH's sheets. Was lucky to catch DH back there so he did the one side while I did the other. Much easier. Sheets are in the dryer. I soaked and hand washed the throw rug from the office bathroom. I got the broom and dust pan out to go through a few rooms and gather up all the stuff on the floor before I vacuum and mop. This keeps the rollers and wheels from getting all clogged up. And it only takes an extra minute or two. I'm grateful for the dust pan on the long handle that I don't have to reach down to use.

When I went outside to hang up the throw rug I noticed it felt brisk today. It's 76° right now. That's brisk for us!

I'm here! It is my first break of the day.

Our day started around 6am with last minute team efforts to finish DD12 insect project that is due today. I give DD46 big Kudo's for showing up for this project & most of all volunteering to be the one to poke display pins into the dead insect and mount them on the display. >>>>shudder<<<<< DD12 and I are way too squeamish and didn't have the nerves to do it. DD12 only had 22 insects so i assume she will have a deduction for being 3 short on her project grade. Whatever. I'm just glad this icky gross project is done. I do understand not everyone considers insect collection with that viewpoint. Hopefully we can agree to disagree on our thoughts of insects.
I did apologize to DS15 for not making him do an insect collection as part of his 7th grade science homeschool curriculum. He is okay with that hole in his education.

** DS15 10th grade homeschool day
** DS15 to music studio for lessons. DH volunteered to take him.
** DD12 5pm appt with her counselor

Cooking today -
** Meatloaf
** Homemade manwich.
** Roasted sweet potatoes, onions and peppers

I had pizza and pumpkin pie for lunch. Dh has a fire going in the fireplace. Our furnace chimney hasn't been replaced yet and it was cold in here earlier.

I think I'll go have a nap now. Maybe I will just read. Who knows.

Put my dishes away.
Did some of my qt but not all.
Called dsis and got the scoop on the festivites yesterday it was good from what she said.
Did a swish in the bathrooms.

Took some things out to the shed.
Had bfast.
Some journaling did bujo last nite.
Waiting for grass to dry so I can mow in back.

Next up to fill mower. X
Menu options soup leftovers had that.
Got dressed then mowed the backyard so glad to have that done now yea.
Walked short one to finish out my step goal for the day.
Got the trash dumped before tomorrow's trash day.

Exercised, came home and helped Sweetie move his huge speakers back into my living room. They are his favorite and though the speakers are really big, I know they will make home happy so he can listen to his music.

That meant I had to redo both my living and dinning areas and swapped the rugs from both areas. Had to remove all furniture from both areas to do this. Then I had to rehang a picture that now goes over the new speaker.

Still haven’t run the extension cords under furniture so that my lamps work.

Just finished eating my lunch and discovered Sweetie is out of milk so I need to go to the store.

I'm home!!

We had a good trip and got away pretty well this morning. We stopped off at an interstate exit to take delivery of a painting that we purchased on Saturday. The piece is 2 feet by 5 feet and Saturday we would have had to wrangle it onto a school bus shuttle to get it back to our friends' car, and then I'm not sure it would have fit with four people in it. So since the artist lived between Birmingham and home, we made arrangements to pick up.

Ddog sitter let us know that Millie was walked, fed, and had had some backyard time and she was heading out while we were still in Birmingham. Millie was happy to see us!

We still have keto hot dog buns in the refrigerator so I took out brats for our supper.

I had a "short" nap and the volume of the football game woke me up. One of the teams has fans that have horns of some sort and that is what woke me.
