Ugh, lost a post I think.

Plan for today is desk day this a.m. until workout at two, then genealogy after. I'm needing to do some paper taming for both cemetery and HOA, pay a couple of HOA bills, and do a statement for each for the quarter ended 30 Sept. I don't know that I'll finish all that but I'm hoping the thrill of genealogy without guilt will get me moving this a.m.

Right now, impatient ddog is ready to walk. Forty-seven degrees out, going to high sixties today.

Good morning! (Barely, here)

You are both colder and warmer than we are here, Twins. It was 49 when I got up, and the high is supposed to be in the high 50s. Gloomy here, too.

I need to get a move on. I have been sitting here playing a video game of DC’s, since they stayed overnight with a friend. As ever, I need to do laundry. Also dishes, since the dishwasher is on the fritz. DH was working on it last night with the help of some YouTube videos. He thinks he has it working, but it’s not all put back together yet. He says if this won’t work, he’ll call a professional.

This gloom has me just wanting to sleep. All the more reason I should get a move on!

Ds took me to breakfast this morning after the school run. It was nice, at a new-to-me restaurant with sit-down service. The waitress mentioned his face and asked about how he felt, but I don't think it was because she has met him before. His stitches are rather impressive, and the eye is bloodshot. DgdC says the swelling is down quite a bit, and I think she's right - I didn't see him for a few days after surgery, and she saw each day. Tomorrow is his follow-up after surgery and potentially he'll be cleared to drive. His antibiotics run out at the same time, so doctor can size up that decision.

You know, I didn't think about it until this minute but he cleaned his plate. Eating must be easier. But is that okay? If I was supposed to warn him about anything, I'll have to let ddil fuss later because I missed it!

Got back and sewed FIRST this morning. (Perhaps that's the ticket, lol.) But I'm not sure it was good for my eyes. A tedious part. Hopefully, most will not be.

Today is trash and recycling day. A lot to do to reclaim the mud room in general - it's such a difficult room because it's so tight. It's not like two people could do things together.

In the middle of plant watering, so I need to switch the little ones that are getting their feet wet. The young man complemented the foliage plant when he was here. (He gave it to dd a while back, so she was pointing out that we're keeping it alive!)

Mystery, today was the first morning I broke out my serious coat, but it was about 45 degrees, not so bad, just new.

Hi!

I explained my morning in J&C. Nothing really bad, but a stressful start to my day, but 2 joys to celebrate before noon! YAY!

Supper tonight will be butter chicken and rice. I picked up a jar of "Butter Chicken Sauce" because they were 50 cents off per bottle if you bought 2. Normally they run out of butter chicken sauce quickly because it's mild.

Didn't add to J&C that I also got gas for the car and groceries while I was in the little town to the west of us.

All I have left to do is go to bed and sleep for the rest of the day. LOL!

I've managed to make decent progress here. I wrote HOA checks, sorted HOA papers and made a balance sheet. Now for an income statement.

I'll need to go workout in about an hour, and I'll s2s after that.

I should point out that I had the trash (including dog poop) to the curb by the time the garbage ran this morning. This is the second week in a row that I haven't had to hurry in from walking the dog to get it out. It was a little past nine this morning.

I was up 2 hrs. later today, at six prepped the trash to go out yesterday & took it out when I first got up.
Have done my qt jouraling & planning done.
Most of the d's are done.

It's nice and sunny a bit breezy here/ mowing today when the dew is gone.
Processed the mail / have a bill to put the amount paid on my budget did the estimated amount yesterday when I reviewed it.
Finished my notes on the work book section for prep. I can write inu answers or journal form the q/s in Nov. when I do my project.
Got my ring the other one had the brass showing through so got a fun diff one for this season they are under $5 so no worries.

Walked ddoggo around the block before I mow it is dry but shady and cool out now.
Rolled up the hoses.
20 min. mowed in back / bs issues had to eat more with side yard still to do was going to take a break any way.
I got the front and side yard mowed too.
Bs is good.
dd called and we had a good talk while she walked.
I put a few things away and did a rbr while we talked.
Dusted the living room yea!

We are on day #5 of 10 day fall break. ** Gasp!** It is already half over? Without any alarms I am sleeping later. Today I woke up at normal time but turned over and went back to sleep. Wake/return to sleep repeated multiple times. I was finally ready to get out of bed at 9:15. I ended up sleeping 10 hours last night. I normally don't enjoy sleeping late but those extra 3 hours of sleep felt like a treat.

Because I slept in everything is off our normal schedule. However, that is one of my goals for this fall break = to not follow a schedule. DH and I went to the gym 2 hours past our normal time and we both got in a good workout. At this phase of our beginning gym efforts, we are focusing on our heart rate and letting that dictate our workout. We both finished our time at the gym sweaty and feeling accomplished.

DH and DD12 have not had any reaction to their flu shots.

We have returned to normal fall temperatures. This is my favorite time of the year when temperatures are cooler, but the leaves are still on the trees. We are in the high 80Fs during the day and high 50F's at night. #PerfectTemperaturesForMe

I am slowly dismantling the garden because we are less than a month away from our typical first freeze. Yesterday I pulled up a huge marigold plant and pulled the seeds off to scatter around. I also cut off a large branch of one of the pepper plants and harvested a dozen or so peppers off that branch. There are so many peppers to harvest and so little time left in the season!

Grrr... dh will click on anything on the internet. Once again we have "somebody" coming between 4 and 6 p.m. to see if we qualify for rebates. We have ALWAYS eaten at 5, so why, why, why did dh say okay to this time slot. Sigh...


PLUS tonight's supper is butter chicken and rice. Kind of a strong smell for those who don't eat it.

I went deeper into mud room clean -and-declutter and have been doing a lot, to the point it's time to sit and say hi to ya'll. Got Tobias' new mat placed for him, but I'm a little disappointed because it is larger than I thought and I'm wondering if it could almost trip us. yipes. Will have to live with it a while. It is very heavy and thin, so maybe not so bad.

A rescue - Outside the side door, a toad was trapped in a bucket with too much rainwater to touch down and was exhausted by swimming, but still terrified of me. I put a thick, short branch in so he could get himself out with his dignity intact, thinking I was smart. Came back in a bit and realized he was too tired, so I fished him out after all. He assumed the normal toad position but did not hop off, even with encouragement. So, I don't know... .. maybe he's just winded. He doesn't speak English, so I can only offer so much.

A magic wand •:*''''*:• - Took another long, thin branch and went around the house stirring away the cobwebs from all the window corners so they are now cleared. I'm sure I have infuriated someone, but couldn't see who. Odd little vines are pulled down from the walls, but English Ivy left alone. I can see that the gutters need attention - they are "guarded" by some brand of guard but still catch certain debris, I guess.
