And we're on to Friday now. What's going on in our little village today?

I need to do a thousand things, including getting out the compost to be picked up, and getting ready for the dcleaning lady this a.m. And I have no idea whether we're having company for dinner tonight either. But somehow, I'll get it together, huh?

TMI— I’m up early bc of stomach issues. Imodium isn’t working. I am miserable.

Hoping to get our Tahoe back today.
Also —
Change sheets
Clean baths
Finish non-carpet vacuuming
Dgrands tonight

Oh — and last night, I finally got pictures selected for printing from my phone. Haven’t printed any in 2023, because of computer problems, I guess.
However — in almost FOUR HOURS, I only have 62 uploaded to Shutterfly.
Tomorrow is another day.

Lucylee: I never answered your question about recommended chrome book or laptop, sorry. If you haven't bought anything yet, I do recommend the Lenovo Thinkpads. They have high end ones in the mid $$$$s but they also have lower level ones or older versions being cleared out in the mid-to-high $$$s.

I recently bought an X13 Yoga and am still not using it to its fullest. It has a touch screen (as did my older X390 which I had repaired but had to buy this to use while waiting for the repair.) But it also comes with a built-in stylus and can be used as a tablet (the screen literally folds all the way back against the keyboard, hence the Yoga name, so you can use it as a tablet) and you can use it in 'tent' mode to display a movie or something. (At the wedding tea, I created a folder with pictures of ds and ddil which I sent to the main TV in the suite via Chromecast and put my laptop in tent mode in the bedroom displaying the same photos.)

It was really cheap because it isn't the latest tech but it runs just fine for me. Because it is a computer, I can download my accounting software, for instance, but also have access to apps if I want it to run more like a chrome book. So it is a great hybrid for my purposes.

The only downside for some is that it has a small screen. That's part of the reason I bought it because I can't carry a lot of weight so this allows me to have something small and portable but at my main desk it is connected to a larger screen, remote keyboard, and wireless mouse. So easy to use in the car or a plane/train because it is small but powerful enough to use for my main computer. If you are a gamer, ignore everything I've said. this is not a computer for gaming.

I'm awake. Didn't sleep long last night but slept for almost 7 hours straight and when I went to roll over onto dh for a bit more sleep while listening to the radio, I couldn't get back to sleep.

A 'free day' here that will fill with all the things I haven't been doing that I should.

My alarm to go get dressed just went off so *poof*.

Dh woke up feeling like he has a cold, and he sounds like he does. He insisted that we had to go to the falls for fruit. He loves the quality of the fruit at this very small, Italian family-owned store. One hundred years ago it was started as a fruit stand. You can tell that one room was added on and then another and another... I said I wanted to stay home, so he went by himself.

I have swept and washed all the floors except the kitchen. I have moved a load of laundry over to the dryer, and now it's all put away except the socks.

No idea what is for supper tonight.

Sun is shining here, but it's cold outside.

Good morning!

Last night I stayed up hours later than normal. I knew I could sleep in this morning, so I decided to enjoy the change to my routine. I got 7 hours of sleep, but my sleep quality score was one of my lowest scores ever. This is the 2nd time that I've noticed my sleep score drops when I stay up later than normal. It isn't the wake-up time but rather the go-to-sleep time that seems to matter the most for my body to get quality sleep.

After having a gloomy, grey, drizzly, cloudy day yesterday we have returned to having bright sunshine. I am thankful.

I haven't set up my cards for the day so that will be my Next Up item.

I walked the dog a lap in the rain but not complaining, we need it so badly. It's not a hard rain but light - I wore my raincoat with hood pulled over a ballcap, which keeps my face/glasses dry. Rain will taper off around noon, we stay cloudy and cooler but no rain again probably until Sunday. I'll walk ddog more later, I need my steps today.

Dcleaning lady is doing her magic. I got things straightened up enough. Still don't know about dinner tonight. I'm not going to worry, lol. We can always order out.

I'm heading upstairs to stay out of her way.

Good morning!

Re computers: DC has a similar Lenovo and has been quite satisfied. (DD uses a gaming laptop.) I am a Mac person and have learned to use a PC a little for work now, but it does not come naturally to me the way the Mac does.

DC wants to go visit their friend that they went trick-or-treating with. I will drive them; they’re willing to take the bus, but it would be probably an hour and a half trip versus a 15-minute drive. I’m debating stopping for lunch on the way home. We’re running out of stuff in the house. I’m working on a grocery list.

I totally redid the small window in the library. Last week I put up black bristol board to block the sunlight. I went and looked at how it looked from the outside. It looked like someone had put up black paper to block the view. So today I switched it over to white bristol board on the outer side and black on the inner side. I went out and looked and now it looks a lot nicer IF someone wanted to walk past that window and try to look inside. Now the bright sunshine is blocked so books won't get any more faded. Gee, it only took me 9 years to figure this out.
