I am still going through non fiction books in my library. Today I am tackling the shelves in the living room. Yesterday I dealt with most of the coffee table books. It's much easier to move my massive coffee table on wheels now that almost half of the books are being donated.

That is how I found this little treasure of a book "All I really need to know..." I felt like I need a few little bits of wisdom from time to time.

Share some of your wisdom.

(P.S. the dishwasher is going because I get to clean up after myself.)

Supper tonight will be BBQed pork chops. Most likely with a few foil wrapped potatoes.

Cathy, I like hearing about your care for your own personal library. I'm sure your donations will bless others.

When I see a bookcase or wall of bookshelves in the private space of someone who is being interviewed on tv or is in a podcast, video blog, whatever, I instantly have some regard for that person because 1) they have invited ideas, which means they are not just interested in themselves or their own circular thoughts, and 2) they realize that ideas can stand the test of time, so give books care and respect, even display them.

I wish we had a real built-in wall of book-shelving, but that's another thing we can't do confidently with plaster walls. I do have a kinda nice bookcase and decorate it with little eye-catchers, have my see-through plastic napkin holders that keep a few favorites displayed upright. Books are separated by broad topics but also by dark and light covers.

Dd says they found nothing at the farmer's market, except a watermelon for her Daddy. She'll spend the rest of the day helping with garage shelving.

Friend S called and is looking forward to leaving the hospital after one more EKG.

CI it is 8:30 here now.
I have been up a couple of hrs. doing at stuff.
Kit. spiff is up
br-r cold 44* outside when I got up 67* our hi. temp. today.
I have a hoodie on inside and blanket over me not turning up the heat,
I've not turned on a/c yet this year either.

I am not doing Sat. project day this mo. I've been weeding a bit every day weather permitting.
Took Fri. off and moved my writing day that worked out so well I will consider that for the future.
It frees up time for mowing day.
Got some watering out front done just turned on the sprinkler.
LucyL I had to get a new title for the trailer and is great the old one had been deleted from the system for lack of use. sigh...

So I did turn up the heat.
Have half of a counter spiff accomplished.
Had bfast.
OMM.
I have left overs for meal today. Raking seeds
Walked
Got my steps in today.
Pruned some on roses.

Good morning

I am feeling back to my normal self. My first 3 hours of the day have each included progress made in multiple areas.
** Harvested strawberries, washed, cut up and in the refrigerator
** Ordered portable bidet bottle and a screw on bidet attachment for coke bottle
** decluttered the garage. Can I live without this item? Yes, we can live without the old bird feed. Out it went. Can we live without the unique bird feeder that has been sitting unused on the front porch for a couple years? YES. Out it went.
** watched my favorite youtube channels videos.
** hand watered garden.
** Decluttered refrigerator
** progress on paperwork
** Made myself a chicken, salsa, lettuce, bell pepper wrapped in xtreme tortilla
** Completed 44 cards

Some my favorite and frequently used saysing -
** Have some fun!
** Will it matter in 5 years?
I am trying to train myself to switch the questions while decluttering -
Instead of asking - "Do I need it" or "Can I find a use for it?"
Ask myself - "Can I get by without it?" or "Can I live without it?"

Morning girls…’

We are under an extreme heat advisory today… didn’t I just move from the desert to get away from the heat!!

Anyway slept in just a wee bit as I had no reason to set my alarm. Did my routines and then spent sometime outside working with my sunnies. Most are spent so I needed to cut them down. However I do have one sunny that refuses to stop growing. It over 10’ tall and hasn’t even flowered yet.

I need to do a small grocery run after I eat my lunch. Sweetie is putzing around messing with his electrical stuff but not sure what it is.

Later today the Preakness Horse race is on. Always a favorite to watch

Lucylee…Copperheads are big, fat and round and a nasty snake indeed. They just captured a 19’ Python not far from here… over177 lbs. an 8 year old boy spotted it and it took 4 men to capture and kill it. That’s what real nightmares are made of.

We have plenty of black racers around here… not scared of them at all cause they don’t like humans anymore than we like them. However they do eat rats…we have Palm rats that live in trees around here … so I’m rally happy to have them around.

My son was trimming his palm tree the other day and came face to face with a snake sitting up IN the tree. That got his attention. By the time he figured out it was Non-poisonous and tried to catch it…he’s like me and likes snakes..it took off. Turns out it was a Brown Snake who likes to climb trees. My backyard has 4 palm trees and now when I’m around the trees I’m looking for snakes

Florida has all 4 poisonous snakes found here… Copperheads, Moccasin, Rattlesnakes and Coral
Snakes. It’s a reptile haven around here.. plenty of lizards and turtles of all shapes and sizes

Extremely happy not to live in Florida.... all those snakes and other things. The people are wonderful, the animals.... not so much.

We saw a commercial with a large furniture store having a "tent sale" when they drag a bunch of stuff out to the parking lot and put up a tent to cover it all. They had some mattresses on sale, one being a black top mattress. We went this morning and there will be a mattress delivered this coming Thursday. Because it was in the tent and had a reduced price, with tax, delivery and removal of the old mattress, the cost for a queen size was less than $800.

Cathy - WhooHOO!! Sounds like you were at the right place at the right time for a great deal.

Some of the local school clubs will sell mattresses (new) as a fundraiser. I have no clue how that works out but it happens year after year, so I assume it is successful.

DH and I went on a little adventure. We went to the local refuge and did a couple small hikes. I purposely picked easy hikes that included water features. Since I forgot to bring spray to keep ticks off, I also selected trails that were wider with less chance of ticks. We finished off our adventure with our favorite weekly small chocolate yogurt mixed with butter pecans.

A trip to the refuge always includes observing clueless people exiting their vehicles and walking toward the open ranging buffalo and long horn. I don't understand why anyone would think it would be a good idea to approach wild animals, especially when they have babies to protect. Every year there are people who are trampled & gored.

DS15 is working for elderly couple doing various tasks for them. They will bring DS15 home when he finishes their list of to-do's. DD12 is with DD47. It is quiet here.

We aerate on the road at nine this am to the ATL brunch. What I thought was probably a small family thing was 200 people in a too small place. We sat with grandmother, who is older than us but we’ve been friends with her and family since we married. Her dh passed away young and she later moved to Atlanta where both dds and their dh’s settled. Our twins were in wedding of the older dd. So it was wonderful to see them all but I was ready to get away too!

Back home I napped. The second grad party is at 6:30. My back hurts from standing and probably the long car ride, and might benefit from biofreeze stuff.

Tomorrow starts countdown to beach.

DS15 came home with $100 for doing 2.5 hours of work for the elderly couple. He was beyond thrilled with their generosity.

I thought DS15 was going to attend a friend high school graduation party tonight. He has been talking about it for weeks. He has changed his mind and isn't going to attend, instead he is going to spend a few hours with his girlfriend and family. When I asked DS15 why he isn't going to graduation party he said "There will be a bunch of teenagers drinking and in the swimming pool. I don't think that is a good combination". I immediately remembered DS15 counselor telling us years ago that we would be thankful for his OCD during his teenage years. Do teenagers with OCD not get drunk and swim in crowded pools? hum.....

After dropping DS15 off at girlfriend's home I stopped at nearby town walking trail. I think it is a mile trail. I had thoughts of doing a couple rounds but it is 93F with no wind so it felt hot while walking. I changed my mind and only did one time around.
