Please do check J&C!

Rose, my dad was like that -- I never heard it called a "dead-eye," but if something wasn't straight, it bothered him so much. He always noticed houses that weren't lined up straight with the highway, LOL.

I am doing a little better today, but last night was a LONG night. It just kinda got to me, I guess, and as someone said, it comes in waves, and... I guess just like the ocean, sometimes the waves are gentle, and sometimes they knock you off your feet.

I went to dgd's awards day this morning. She got good conduct and A/B honor roll, and her reading scores (diebels?) increased, so she was pleased (and of course, so were we.) Then she wanted me to go with them to Cr*cker B*rrell, so I did that. It was almost 1:00 pm when I got home, and I had to take a nap.
Got the sheets in the washer, called the College Town ticket office -- good news there, we are paid up till next December (except for basketball tickets, which I will worry about later) and, most importantly, this account is already in my name. It cannot be transferred to anyone except a spouse, so family tickets that have been held since 1968 are in good hands as long as I am living, I guess. LOL -- I told dmom, I guess I could marry again, to a much younger man, and they could transfer to him at my death. That is not likely. I cannot even IMAGINE wanting to even go out with someone at this point. It would definitely MMN ;) and I can't imagine ever wanting to get used to someone else and take on all their baggage, family, etc. By the time someone gets to my age, they have accumulated a lot of baggage, you know?

Talked to dmom. I think she called to make sure I wasn't crying today.
Sent an email re: tomorrow's teacher group meeting.
Need to put sheets in the dryer and start another load of laundry.
Need to type council minutes from yesterday's church meeting.

BTW -- good for you with all the organizing and decluttering, Cathy. I did take a large box of books to the library sale, but it is amazing how many books are left here. Most have been read, but the "to read" pile is awfully high, too.

Thanks for the reminder of today's holiday, Harriet!
Happy Victoria Day to our Canadian SHEs! (and Scottish neighbors? I don't think we have any Scottish SHEs. I do have Scottish heritage, I believe.)
* KATHRYN * We have not forgotten you!!!

And we have not forgotten *BLESSED* -- I am so worried about her, with her dh's health being such an issue lately... (((HUGS))) and prayers for you, blessed, if you check in.

Twins, I know you get too much "social" time, but I sorta envy you having neighbors you can just step outside and chat with. I have good neighbors, but none close enough to talk to across our lawns. We all live in the middle of separate, large pastures. Hope you sleep better tonight.

Nancy, I just admire you so much. You are always getting so much done! I know it has taken you some time on this path I'm walking now, and you are proof that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

And Rose, thanks for the continued reassurance that this is all normal. As dmom said last night while I was crying on the phone, there's no way around this time in life, we just have to go through it, and I know I am doing well in a lot of ways... but y'all know, better than anyone, how much I have on my mind... I feel bad about the little time a couple years ago which I termed Lucy Loses Her Mind a little bit... and if you want to talk about that, we can do it in J&C or MO... but I feared even then, if I grieved for what had been a part of my past, I might be grieving for my present before too long... and here I am... Sigh.
But again, I had to face the possibility of losing dh 7 years ago when he was first diagnosed with congestive heart failure and the doctor wanted to put him on the heart transplant list. :!: THAT will get your attention. And I feel guilty too, that maybe I had been "rehearsing" this very thing, at times, over the past 7 years. And now it's here. Maybe I even feel guilty that I'm maybe a little relieved that I don't have to deal with the FEAR of it happening anymore. :?: But it sure is a hard road to travel.
Tomorrow is another day.

We do love our neighbors here. We are close to some, not so close to others, but there's a core group i could spend time with almost anytime to catch up.

Meeting is done, dh called in the middle of it, then when I didn't answer texted to ask where I was. "Oh yeah, at the meeting."

Tomorrow is a busy day. Bone scan, pedicure and manicure. (I can't even trim nails on right hand because left hand isn't working, and I can't turn my wrist enough to get to pinkie and ring finger consistently on left. I just want cuticles cleaned up, nails trimmed and shaped and neutral polish, not anything fancy.) I have packages to go to UPS store and post office and need to check HOA post office box tomorrow too.

Later in the week I'm driving to get body work, it's close to home.

Well... after the good news re: football ticket account... then I received an email re: basketball season tickets.
Talked to ds and dbil, and I am going to give up these tickets. We only had two seats together, and a third seat by itself, at the far end of the arena, and on the upper level. If I went to a game I'd only be able to take one grandchild, and last year, because of their own youth league sports, we only went to a couple games with them. The thing is, it cost $3185 for the PRIVILEGE of buying season tickets! The tickets themselves are above this "donation" fee. And for just two tickets, it would cost $2410. (Plus the actual ticket cost.)
There is absolutely no way to sell enough tickets online to make up that cost, and lots of times, we took a loss with online sales. And that was just the face value of the tickets themselves. We didn't even try to make up the season ticket holder fees. So... it's ridiculous to keep them, when ds and dbil both feel they couldn't use them enough to get our money's worth.
... but... even though most of the time I dreaded going... and that $3185 represents almost two months of dh's pay, so that is a significant savings...
but it still makes me so sad to give them up. It makes no sense at all.
Tomorrow is another day.
