I'm less exciting about this product now that I have done a test item.

Turns out, it isn't cling but just like regular contact paper. My confusion comes from the YT tip of using a spray bottle and spraying the surface of the counter and the back of the paper as you go to help you get it on smoothly. For the window cling film (no adhesive) it is exactly the same spraying with water. So I thought this was the same. It is a big misunderstanding.

I had many feet of the non adhesive cling film leftover so have been playing with it. I've put it around empty peaches jars from Costco and turned them into candle holders. I've put it around an ugly white metal water bottle and turned it into a stain glass looking one. And I've covered empty pill bottles to use them them as holders for toothpicks in the living room next to where I sit and watch TV. And there's a test strip up on the wall to see if I could use it there (it has been up a week now and no sign of peeling but, to be honest, we haven't cooked much this week so there wasn't much of a test with steam or heat.)

For my first test I'm doing the tops of two drawer units from IKEA in the kitchen, bought 2 decades ago. The tops are a bit pitted and stained (go figure) and so I covered the top of one with the smaller roll of the contact paper I bought to play with (so I could return the larger roll if I think I can't do this.) It came out just fine but that was just a 20" x 23" thing to cover. And I still have the second one to cover, I'll do that this evening and then try a tiny strip of counter that can be covered with this smaller roll. After that, I might try my bathroom counter which will be tricky because it is working around a sink and will require matching, but I will have to work around a sink in the kitchen as well so may as well try things out in a smaller place. In theory, if I use the large roll, there will be no matching. But apparently working with a 36" wide piece at a time is difficult.

Twins: I'm sorry to hear about the wrist. Left hand or not, it is a part of the body used all the time (such as when putting on a bra!)

K in C it is so good to see your posts.

I got the trash dumped.
Watched the last of the series I started.
Got my lavender seeds in it finally warmed up enough to do that.
Watered after I weeded a bit more.
Got my steps in today too. Yea!
I had dinner and I did up the dishes.

LM / Thinking you could write out a card for the steps on the generator and have dson15 help learn it as well.

Busy day here for me, and most of it out of the house at 2 "knitting" groups. At the first group two of us were cross stitching, one was crocheting and one more was knitting. We spend more time talking than anything else. In the afternoon group, which is actually called a "craft" group, one woman was doing a small water color painting for the front of a Christmas card. I was cross stitching and another woman was making a tea cup gnome (and not really enjoying it.)

Supper was a salmon casserole.

Then I sat down with some DMC floss and decided to put all 20 colours from a project I am working on on to individual needles because there are so many confetti stitches. (Stitches that are more than 5 stitches away from other stitches of the exact same DMC number.) That took a while because all 3 cats decided they must investigate what I was doing. That included a lot of curious sniffing of various threads.

Very windy here today but very little rain.

Got the second set of drawers covered. I think the process is bubbling up because there are bubbles I didn't think I had on the first one. They are at the edge so I know I was paying attention to that and it isn't that I didn't notice.

I've washed the kitchen floor (first time in 3+ weeks) and rearranged the furniture in the eat-in part of the kitchen. I had changed things around for a while but decided to change them back.

I didn't get the small part of the counter wrapped. I decided to wait until tomorrow to see the state of the drawer tops before I put more time into this.

I'm having a quiet time now and then will head to bed.

I just realized I have a meeting on Wednesday night (and another on Tuesday night) so won't be able to go up to the cottage after all. I'm disappointed but it is too much of a drive for less than 48 hours.
