We ended up going out for burgers. A new burger place opened a week earlier than expected, and they were having an opening week special. The place was packed at 3:30! Each burger is cooked when ordered, so it takes a few more minutes than a "fast food" burger. This is their second location and we will be going back. It's in the same parking lot as the place I go to for knitting on Fridays.

I am tired tonight. Just finished watching Zoom presentation for evening and I'm not sure I have energy to watch TN and TX A&M.

I rested after dinner then went to the basement to use the TV and learn more on the remote and shows available
watched a star trek show and one with horses in it forget that title of it but they have a lot of seasons family friendly.
I found the extension cord I was hunting for the other day, Put away some pics. & journals glad for a bit of progress down stairs.
I am glad to have some fabric out to consider for projects at some point.
Went out and watered the flowerbeds, and got a can of leaves added to the trash found a mouse in the carport chased it to the patio and the
dog has fun hunting it! Turned on the a/c to cool it off this evening.

It's really Tuesday already here in CST, but I decided against starting a new day.
Today was pretty good for me -- both dgrands were here all night bc DS was out of town and DDIL was working. We all had to get up early (10:00 a.m  ) bc dgd had swimming lessons and I had to get ready for lunch with dfriend.
As with all things, planning something as simple as meeting lifelong dfriend at local restuarant MMN... (made me nervous) ... but having dgrands here all day Sunday helped keep my mind off myself.

I really had a good time with friend -- we stayed an hour and a half at the restaurant. She recently retired but is already going back to work (different type work) 2 days a week. She said she didn't want to work more than 20 hours a week, but she needed something to get her out of the house. The other three days, she goes to an exercise class that meets at 8:30 in the morning. EVERY day, she starts her day with 30 minutes on the treadmill.
Sheesh. I wish I had her "get up and go." OTOH, I'm trying not to be too hard on myself while normal sleep is still such a struggle. I did tell dmom if she would pay my gym fee, I would join the class with her. (She gets it free with Silver Sneakers.)

I came home and napped a while after lunch, and then DS called and asked if I wanted to go to eat supper with him and dgrands. So I did, let him pay for my supper, and then I paid for ice cream for all of us. We stopped at the expensive monument place so DS could see what I was looking at and what I have in mind. He of course was very agreeable about whatever I decided. I just wanted him to see what $4000 gets you in Next Town, so he could help me compare with $2500 in Next State. We are tentatively planning to go up there Friday.

We took DDIL supper at the hospital and she got dmom's CD from her CAT scan for us, so dmom will have that for her doctor's appt Wed. I had talked to her earlier, and she mentioned that she still had to go to the hospital to pick that up -- the doctor is fine with having it done at our local hospital, but although they are connected somewhat, he is unable to pull up files from their records. So that is taken care of.
I have also done a couple loads of laundry, but still need to hang clothes to dry.

Tomorrow, I don't have any real plans, except making sure the house is "party ready." I'll need to go to the bank and get a hundred dollar bill for dgs' birthday. He says he wants a taco bar for his birthday supper and DDIL is taking care of all of that. All I have to do is provide a house for what will likely be 8 of us, with my dmom and dbil and his fiance'. I think DGS is celebrating a second time with other grandparents. DDIL's dad goes to work really early, like 5:00 a.m., and they usually don't like to do week-night events.

It's just so weird... DFriend asked how I was doing, and I told her I just don't know. Some days are diamonds, some days are stone.
I am not just "consumed" by grief... certainly nothing like my dmom was after ddad passed away. I can function pretty well, and there were lots of laughs with friend and later tonight with DS and the kids... but I read through April in J&C and tears did come... and I just feel "edgy." Sooo many things make me nervous. Of course, those things ALWAYS made me nervous. The difference was, I had dh here 24/7 to talk me down when I got upset.
I am able to listen to the radio again. For awhile, I couldn't listen to music because every song brought up a memory. The last few days, I've noticed that I have listened to more music, not just talk radio.
I can't sleep without the tv though, and that makes sleep less restful, I'm sure.
I'm still concerned about money, but I have made some purchases with my new credit card, and bank statement still looks reasonable. I'm even able to save a bit each month -- just putting it aside in the back of my register. I am trying to continue tithing 10%, same amount we tithed on both incomes together, and also trying to save 10%. Got statement today re: property taxes. They will be about $1000 -- not due till October, I think -- and if nothing major comes up, that will be a great way to pay those taxes. *** Homeowners and auto insurance will be coming due soon too -- August, I think -- and that will be another big bill. Then the football tickets in December. But it looks like my finances will be sufficient to the day...
But seriously, a person who just had her income cut almost in half should certainly take time to look at the cheaper headstone, shouldn't she? As DS said, this place is very popular with people in our area, and we've spent a lot of time over the years roaming around in cemeteries, and we haven't noticed any real differences in stones. They all look about the same, to be honest. Some are obviously larger, some are white marble, some have portraits and photos etched into them, things that we know make them more expensive, but a basic granite stone looks pretty much like the next basic granite stone.

Anyway. This post is beginning to ramble. It's approaching 2:00 a.m. and I better get those clothes hung up and at least get myself IN the bed, whether I sleep or not. :)

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday. You'll be well underway by the time I show up in the morning.
Tomorrow is another day.
