What are you feeling "Thumbs up" over today? Some good moments? Some moments where thumbs up means "I'm still here and moving!" What are your thumbs up choices today?

A thumbs up seems appropriate for me today. I'm still going, but with far less intensity than earlier in the week.

It is a beautiful, cool, summer day without humidity. I hope it holds for the beach party this afternoon.

I'm feeling thumbs up over my prep for that.

My to-do list today includes:

1. vacuuming (I can feel grit at times when I walk around and dgs3 had to sit down on the mat and get some crumb or stone off his bare foot on Tuesday.

2. sorting through the medicine cabinet which isn't a cabinet but a tray inside my armoire as well as a large travel kit that I take with me when I travel (or to the cottage.) We used to travel so much, it wasn't worthwhile to have duplicates, so now we just keep the majority of the medicine cabinet contents in this kit bag and the bag sits in my childproofed armoire when we are home.

Dusting as well. The kitchen counters are amazingly clean (after wiping up bubble mixture concoctions over and over while measuring and testing!) but the toaster oven needs the crumb tray dealt with.

Dgs will arrive at some point around nap time.

I also need to make up snacks and other stuff we'll need for the beach (I've packed beach towels but it would be nice to have a picnic blanket to sit on to eat.) I might pack my giant ball as well if it isn't too windy for kids to play with but too windy for bubbles, although I'm not sure I have a way of inflating it. Will check with dh about if we can adapt our bike pump.

Just got an email moving set up time back 30 minutes, so that will be leaving here at 3:30 ish. We are expecting over 170 people. It is a tiny beach, tucked between the parkway and the water and we only have 2/3 of it due to the construction (better than the 1/2 we had last year.) It will be busy!

As I make a thumbs up motion, I'm realizing I need to rub some Voltaran into my hands. The doc okay-ed last week. Can barely do with left hand (thumbs up) considering the restrictive internal reinforcement, but the right hand is stiff and achy also.

In fact, I'm a little achy too but I cancelled my body work appt for 8:30 this a.m. My body needs it but my mental health says no. I could be back home by 10 and have a little time before webinar starts, but I need my time in the morning too much, especially after three days of webinars already. And I have to leave this afternoon for a meeting at temple. I'd like to say I can't make it but I can skip some sessions? (Especially since I'm finding them less advanced than I hoped?) And then there's the baseball game tonight too. Almost any other time I'd tell dh I can't make it....

Weather has improved - we had a 10 p.m. T storm last night and power went for a minute. High today will be only 88 but humidity is up there right now.

Morning girls…

It’s Thursday so that means laundry. I am enjoying my second cup of coffee. After that I’ll change into my exercise clothes and do one of my videos on YT.

Need to dust and vacuum and do some general cleaning. We have a guy coming at 1:00 to measure the covered part of our lanai. Half of it is like a covered porch and the other half covers our pool. When hurricanes show up we have to move all of our furniture and plants inside our house so they don’t get destroyed

It takes a lot of time to do that. We want to install protective screens that pull down like window shades so we don’t need to move everything. It will make Hurricane prep much easier. It also means we can travel during hurricane season and can have my son close up our home if a storm pops up while we are gone.

Hi!

I'm here. I thought I posted yesterday morning, but when I came back in the afternoon, I hadn't posted at all. Oh well... I spent a lot of the day reading a Patrick Taylor book. (An Irish Country Doctor series.)

We had a fabulous thunderstorm here last night. Lots of rain for the farmers.

I think dh is going to get some groceries this morning. I was going out for lunch, but plans got cancelled for the second week in a row.

Smart of you to listen to your body. I remember when I broke my arm, not my wrist. No surgery, but after the cast came off it took a while before I had full use of my arm without it hurting. If I remember correctly I used Tylenol for the pain. I was teaching during that time and one school was over for the summer I still used an ace bandage on my arm even though I no longer needed to wear my cast.

I also used ice after the cast was off when my arm became achy

we saw two deer on that walk!
Up at 4:15 went to bed at ten.
qt & journaling done.
Breakfast is omm.
Dsis thought a self care bingo card and basket would be a great prize for the bingo hall at the retirement center she is on the board of.
I said the chore bingo one would be great for the April fools one!

This & That:
Yesterday I learned about fabric on the deck some are better than others and they can blow away in the winds, same as for silk flowers.
The brass eagle got a thumbs up!
I also learned a lot about story structure & took some notes on that when I was reading.
I am doing well on the no TV news / or minimal tv watching getting more done & having so much more peace.
I remember talking with LH about having some down time from it when he was off for a while.
I did turn on the new one briefly just to do the remote and learned a new function and turned it off with in five min.
It can update that way too.
Got a great idea for an outfit to seam up I have the fabric here & pattern I made up.
Worked a bit on my new walking stick project I am doing this week.

I woke up naturally around sunrise (6ish) and immediately went outside to do my morning mile. It is becoming a habit that I don't struggle to accomplish as much as when I started 18 days ago.
When I got back in the house to start the next part of my day only to realized my stomach was hurting. I was frustrated to find that I am running a low-grade temperature. I made the decision to not go to VBS. Thankfully, we have an abundance of adult and teen volunteers so it was easy to arrange for someone to take my spot.
When DD13 woke up she told me that her stomach started hurting during the night. I am guessing that we have some sort of stomach bug. Hopefully it won't last too long.

I am trying to make myself rest so my body can recover. I just came back from spending 30 minutes in the garden so i am not doing too well with that resting thing.

BUBBLES!! Just the thought of bubble blowing makes me smile. I hope the beach party goes well.

Back from the store & one other errand.
Got the food unloaded & put away.
Some is in down stairs freezer more to go down later.
I have 97% of my steps in yea!

My bujo will be done on the 1st I messed up several days this week had a
bit of a cold. Glad I'm feeling better. Couple of people commented on my
full cart, folks do not say anything at Costco I would guess. Two weeks worth will do that! LOL! Got a soft back bujo replacement.

The chair[s] for the deck was gone, one other thing was too for get what that was.
Glad it was cooler.
I still need to rinse off the rig. X Drove ddoggo around 2 blocks she luvs that!
I have a small flag calling that good for decor for the fourth.
Did tricks with the ddoggo.
Had lunch 1/2 of a 6"subway type san.

Hoping any bubble blowing is a fun success. If there are ideas that don't happen to work now, they may be ideal for other occasions later.

I feel sad that the one chance we had at showers passed us by today. There was a window of 2 hours in which areas around us got some rain, we got none, and the opportunity won't return for a week. HRH is actually considering watering the lawn at a few places with the hose. Just unheard of.

Also, this a.m. I had postponed some general work outdoors because it might rain. Now the real feel has gotten into the nineties again. I was trying yesterday right before dusk to do some potting up but temp itself was 95 even that late. (I think we broke or matched a record yesterday.) Even on porch, when HRH came to get me and told me he thought it was time to quit, I turned and walked right into the house without offering another opinion at all. If it's too hot for me to talk, it's too hot.

We ended up eating rather late last evening and he chose sloppy joes. I'm not sure the brand. I defrosted some veggie crumbles for him and added coleslaw to the burger buns. The spice must have been really something because we both had uncomfortable nights. Oh, the dreams! Goodness. I typed a quick movie scene to equate, but no, ya'll don't deserve TMI, so deleted.
