It's sunny here today! We had some Saharan desert land recently but the skies are clear now. Hoping for sunny skies for all the village, where ever!

We are getting a bit of rain today yea we really need it!
Up at a good time did qt & journals.
Had a bit of breakfast.
Hoping the heat backs off and stays under the century mark despite the forecast on Mon.
Glad I found some thing I've been waiting for in stock yea!

I have Hilton Head island as one of the preset locations on the weather channel tab. Not looking for sunny skies there, lots of chat about rains and weather stalling out on the coast. We are going back end of this month for a week.

The wedding was lovely of course, although it was a long afternoon into evening. Ceremony was in the hot sun, they had hand fans on each seat but not enough. They had shortened up the ceremony itself to the bare minimums. The evening was long, 4:30 ceremony, extended cocktail hour, salad at 6:15. We were seated with J, my cousin, and with the father-of-the-bride's birth mother and her dh. He found her several years ago and she and her dh are a part of the extended family, very nice since she didn't have a later child.

Because we were taking J home, we stayed much later than we would have otherwise. Lots of dancing - new music that dh I don't feel is "dancin music," lol. J's family really knows how to party and have a good time, so we had a good time watching, just would have left a little earlier. So I read awhile once we got home and collapsed.

Today we're going to the temple for a rabbi/stand up comedian guy. https://www.bobalper.com/ And tonight, dh will bowl again on Sunday p.m. and I'll work on my part of the article.


I love it, Nancy! We've enjoyed having rain and storms the last few days. Our deficit hasn't been made up but we're closer to normal for the season.

I haven’t noticed any signs of the Saharan dust here. That’s amazing, that their dust is all the way over here.
But my allergies ARE really acting up.

I’m looking forward to hearing this preacher. If our church gives up on the disaffiliation plan, our family will be going to this church.

Stormy, stormy stormy here with the tropical depression over head. Gusty at times but really not any worse than a bad thunder storm. Course it’s really hard for me to gauge since I’ve been through so many of these when I lived in Mobile for so long. And just as I wrote that a huge gust of wind started up.

It is thundering and I just colored my hair and rinsed it out. I was planning to take my shower but will wait till it stops thundering.

I’m bored so I ended up redoing my linen closet and downsized all my hand towels and wash cloths. I’ve bagged them up and will take it to my animal shelter sometime this week. And depending how bored I stay may tackle my hall closet.

Hi!

We went out for breakfast. Before we left I turned on all the fans and the a/c. When we got back I cut the grass as soon as I got out of the truck. Just finished the grass now and I came in to a really cold house, which was nice. While we were gone I also had a load of laundry going and the dishwasher also did it's thing. I'm going to lay down for a bit and read after I post this.

BBQ steak and potatoes for supper tonight.

We have mostly sunny skies here, and - thank goodness - our temps have gone back to a seasonal norm (between 70 - 80F) For those of you thinking that's rather on the chilly side, keep in mind that we're almost 400 miles north of the Montana border

Thanks for sharing the link to the rabbi/comedian Twins. He reminds me a bit of Red Skelton - quite funny without being vulgar or profane.

The Alberta Day of Caring event went very well, and raised somewhere between $1.5 - 2 million towards Jasper specifically. https://www.redcross.ca/about-us/media- ... f-caring-f. Keep in min that the number in the article is before the matching funds from both the provincial and federal governments.

Yesterday was definitely a lazy day for me - I did some dishes, went for lunch with dh, read, listened to an audio book, and watched some Nat Geo documentaries on D*sney+. Today - among other things, I'll go over to visit dMum for a while. My sister was out from Ottawa for her 40th high school reunion (as she said,"Where the heckity heck has the time gone?") She had said that she would love to get together if I was going to be around (where do I ever go??), butt she spent all her spare time visiting with dMum. She's off to Vancouver today to meet up with her hubby, visit their son, and then "do some anniversary stuff". They were married on Vancouver Island 29 years ago tomorrow.

DS went to the Heritage Festival yesterday (a gathering of people from countries all over the world sharing different cultural events, activities, and food) https://www.heritagefest.ca/. It's quite pricey, but a fun experience (according to DS...I don't do crowds). He brought both me and DH each a bannock bison burger. SO good! I still have half of mine in the fridge - bison is an extremely lean meat, and very filling.

Hmmmm.....what to do first?

- put away clean dishes
- morning daily chores
- put in the first load of laundry
- water the pots on the patio
- debone the turkey that I simmered yesterday for soup

Well...once I actually got off my tuchis, posted, and went to do the work, it didn't take very long at all. Of course, then I got sidetracked again by a documentary about Machu Picchu. I have to admit it's rather hard to tear myself away... I'd far rather learn about ancient Inca civilization than clean house!

However.. the documentaries will still be here when I'm done the house and yard work.

Next up:

- water veggie bed #1 and strawberry bed
- vacuum living room and kitchen
- wash living room floor
- clean off TV stand
- sort flyers by the front door

Home from the comedian at the temple, and dfriends A and V came by for drinks and catch up since we hadn't seen them this weekend. Dh has now gone to to bowling and I have work on the article to do. I need to walk the ddog first. At 91 degrees , "feels like" 96 I'm trying to stall for time.

Wonderful to laugh. Got tickled at man in front who was nearly snorting with laughter at times. OTOH, he kept moving right into my line of vision and I kept scooting my chair right, and then he's move again. Always good to laugh with friends.

I went there. I had a runny nose and cough overnight and then runny nose and coughing spell coming back this afternoon, and got to thinking. (Always a problem, huh?) COVID test was negative.

Dd texted yesterday that she had COVID but she's had it since Wednesday. I'm not sure when she got back from her trip to CA.
