Thank you for the birthday wishes.
It was an uneven day. Good start making it by 11 to meeting my BFF for my birthday lunch with her. That was a good (despite depressing topics of conversation, her BIL will die in the next day or two, she just found out a week ago that he's palliative despite that diagnosis starting over 2 months ago, and the fact she lives 20 minutes from them.)
My own dysfunctional family took up the rest of the day; a two hour phone call with my confused sister (who thought I was 65 because she took 9 years off her age but hadn't remembered she just turned 73, not 74), and then, after an hour long battle across town in rush hour traffic instead of the usual 22 minutes, a disconcerting dinner at dd's with whiny children who were rude and ignored us so we came home immediately after we finished eating. Thankfully dfs' children (3 and 6) recorded a lovey rendition of happy birthday and left it for me on FB messenger. So a more positive end to the day.
Tomorrow I have an important, in-person meeting with the new minister in the afternoon so we can't go back to the cottage until Thursday morning. I'll continue to work away at housework. I managed half the apartment yesterday before an exhausting evening meeting, and will hopefully get the second half finished except for the office which dh has made inaccessible due to working on his game project so the folding table is up blocking half the room.
So I'll probably disappear again for a few days at least.
Cathy: I found a pair of dh's jeans today. I think we actually bought him another pair because he was short a pair. His pair was in with my black jeans and it's been hot for almost 5 months so I hadn't gone to pull out black jeans until this afternoon. That explains why I didn't have enough room in my jeans bin!

I just finished hanging up a dryer full of stuff. There is a full load in the washer right now. I also have a full dishwasher waiting for it's turn to play.
I'm very happy with everything I got done today. This includes putting 6 new terra cotta bases under 6 small plants. I now have 6 additional small bowls to put in the dishwasher either tomorrow morning or... I could soak them in the sink over night if both sinks weren't full of various dirty things. At one point a couple of days ago all of the dishes were done. I seem to have gotten really good at taking garbage and kitty litter out of my house. Now I think it's time to get back to having a good routine with the pots and pans again.

I truly thought I said that in my morning post but looks like it didn’t get out of head and into my screen!
So — the movie was very good but I cried a little.
It was also almost 3 hrs long (that includes the time spent watching previews… a LOT of previews!)
Dm decided we could look for a phone another day… so the search for the elusive perfect phone continues.
It was a good day.
Tomorrow is another day.

The evening changed on a dime when ddil called to ask for some help. Ds cut a finger deep enough that she determined he needed a doctor, maybe stitches.
They are at the all-night urgent care a few towns away and I've been with the children for a few hours. They're off to bed after baths and hearing from their Mom while Dad is being glued, then splinted so that the fingers can't move for a few days
Grandpuppy Gunner and I are hanging out now. He usually sleeps with dgdC, but has decided I need a friend. Actually, he's zonked now, too, after catching his stuffed.chew toy a hundred times.
