My cousin came over, mom, dd's, and we had a lovely time! Actually I had worried for naught.
I have a counter and sink full of dishes!
Now to rinse them and put them away in the dw - turn on.
dd older is doing her laundry
d mom is sound asleep sitting up.

Re: Friday, Following Your Own Plans
If your skies are clear, go out and watch the moon rise tonight (in the east). At least here it was stunning!
AND
You may be able to see the comet tonight too. (In the west.)
I wasn't exactly sure when I could see it so when online and read it was shortly after sunset. I set an alarm, brought the stuff up from the basement (and dealt with the recycling and some garbage) and then went outside to look before heating up my dinner. I spotted it instantly! (Except I didn't see it, when I confirmed in my star gazing app it said it was still daylight, then jumped ahead and showed the comment. It turns out it has the option to see what I'll see later in the night and the plane coming or going was exactly where the comet will be in about another hour.
I got my dinner heated up and then sat outside to eat it because I could (it is high 50's so it was definitely chili weather!) and just watched the sky and the transition from civil twilight, to nautical twilight and we are just beginning astral twilight now. I finally decided to go back inside because it would be so long before I could see something and when I turned around to enter the kitchen, I spotted the moon rising over the downtown. And that was stunning.
So whether or not I actually see the comet later, I enjoyed the tail end of sunset, the twilight, and the moon rise.
Nothing got done but I still think it was pretty good use of my time (and excellent use of my star gazing app since it made sure I wouldn't embarrass myself by posting the photos I took!)

Re: Friday, Following Your Own Plans
I’ve done nothing productive today at all.
Dgd is here and we’ve played a couple games. We ate supper at the Mexican restaurant in town.
We aren’t going to the high school game tonight because she still has a cough and had to leave school early today. I don’t mind staying home with her at all — it’s kinda chilly outside!
I thought I should color my hair today but I kept procrastinating and stayed in bed till after 1:00 pm! I was just scrolling on my phone and playing games, and talking to my mom. I wasn’t feeling especially depressed, but I just didn’t want to get started on my day. I figured I was due a day of rest with the weekend coming up, dgrands in and out Friday-Sunday, ds’ birthday Monday, and the mood I’ve been in.

Re: Friday, Following Your Own Plans
I haven't done much this week. I am sort of keeping up with dishes. Dryer has clean clothes that need to be put away. Dinner has been served every night. Right now dh and I are both bored with what we've been having. I had a shower today.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Re: Friday, Following Your Own Plans
No luck with the comet. Nor Starlink which was going over at the same time when I just went out. I give up. After seeing the moon tonight, the comet doesn't matter.
I'm going to try and dash off a difficult email or two, clean up the kitchen, empty the wagon of the cottage stuff and then head to bed. That should take at least an hour.
(((Hang in there Cathy)))

Re: Friday, Following Your Own Plans
Oh. My. Goodness.
Y’all will never guess what happened tonight.
I won a 1/4 of a steer.
Yep.
If we had a contest for LEAST LIKELY TO COOK, y’all know I would win… and now, here I am, soon to be given instructions on when to pick up probably a 100 pounds of beef. At least!
We are all kinda ROFLOL.
Of course I will be sharing with dmom, ds/ddil, her parents… and probably random bystanders…
Never in a million years did I expect or want to win — I just bought a $10 ticket to help dgs meet his quota.
Shaking my head…
I’ll be like Aunt Bea, roaming the streets with a wagon load of beef, looking for freezer space.
