300th Day of the Year: Saturday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Since this year is a leap year, we're at 300 days for the year, with sixty-six remaining. We're coming up on Halloween, and Thanksgiving and holiday prep.

What are you up to today? Relaxing to have energy for the rest of the year? or Busy, busy, busy?

Do tell!

Oh my, the house is hot! Dh has had the fire on all morning and finally it's off. I have the door opened to the outside, where it's sixty or so degrees.

I've been absent from here a lot lately - down the genealogy rabbit hole because I haven't had a lot of outside stuff to do, thankfully. The piece I'm writing now, and probably for another year or two, may be my renewal work to submit about Sept. 2027, lol. Obviously, I'm feeling obsessed right now.

Dr visit yesterday was good. Some bloodwork is already back, and my A1C was very slightly better than in July 2023, now 5.6, was 5.7 then. Other tests were okay - some cholesterol numbers are off but not horrible. The CRP high sensitivity, which reports inflammation, is same as it was in July 2023, which was very high. It can indicate autoimmune issues but as the doc said the trend is what's more important. I am going to try Mounjaro for weight loss. I workout, I eat pretty well and I feel stuck with my weight. Taking gabapentin for trigeminal neuralgia also means it's hard to lose weight. So I'll see if it works for me. We've met deductible for the year and doc thinks insurance will cover - my BMI is around 30 and I have high blood pressure.

In other news, dh went to a gym near home and talked about trainers there. He will start with a new one week after next, and I need to decide when I want to change out I guess. I feel like I'm in denial about them closing. (Just shut my eyes and ignore the problem and it will go away?)

We have a busy day today. Dh has already gone to a bat mitzvah - normally I'd consider going with him. This is at the "other" synagogue and we have two more events later so I took the morning off. I struggled last night with getting the tickets to the Broadway matinee this afternoon into my Apple wallet. Technology sure is getting harder. (I'm putting all the tickets into Apple Wallet so I don't have to recreate the wheel - this is a Broadway series of 6 productions this year.) That's with our friends V and A, and later, with V and A and three other couples that we've been with this year, we'll have chili dinner at home of one couple. I'm taking a seven layer mexican dip, although I'm leaving off the raw green onion layer because they don't agree with one. Needing to take some extra guacamole for the two vegans too. (This group of 10 has two diabetics and two vegans so planning food isn't easy.)

Moving on to the rest of the morning.

bw2, you do have a lot on your hands with your dh and dmom. Thinking about you these days....

oh my goodness 300 days already!!!!

d twins thank you for starting us!!! I am sure you and your dr. will come up with something that will help you with your goals!! Wishing you the best!
hope your dh likes the new trainers.
I will say it's hard to change trainers that have been working for you. I feel bad that the business isn't moving forward
enjoy your time with friends!

thank you for the good wishes for my mom and dh.
-------------------------
Dh was pouting last night - angry pout. Dh refuses to lock the powder room when he uses it. I have caught him by accident and I asked him to lock it. Last night mom went to use the powder room and dhm of course, did not lock the door. She said - oh sorry - you should lock the door. Dh is angry that she opened the door he didn't lock. :shock: ;)

I figure dh might be getting upset that mom is here a lot - he was like this for a month when dd younger came back during hurricane season. he likes his world to be exact and non changing. Wait until I have the heating company come in and replace the furnace and ac. and I have the electrician coming back. 8-) 8-) 8-)

I have always liked a good challenge :lol:

May everyone have a great day!!!

I have BBC Gardener's world on. watched.

feeling very positive!

mom is here again - fed her lunch, dd older is taking her out for a short time.
dh was thrilled but he did say hello. He still is angry that he can't use the bathroom without someone breaking in on him... :shock: I don't know why he can't use the lock - I just have to accept this is a thing.

dishes emptied and put away
folded laundry
flip flopped laundry

~~~~waving Hi to all~~~~
The hours of the day seem to pass so quickly.
DH and I were up before 6am with both us us waking naturally. DS16 left for work around 6:30am to put in 3 hours and was back home by 10am. We have 4 teens here currently.
I am picking my battles carefully with the teens and I choose not to pick DS16 trading a gas pickup for a diesel pickup today. Do I think it was a good trade? Probably not but who knows. When vehicles are 20ish years old it is hard to predict which vehicle will survive teen style of driving.
A battle I chose to fight was last night when DS16 friend was driving 96mph with DS16 as a passenger. Life360 sent me a report and it was cold hard facts they didn't try to deny.
In the kitchen today -
** sauteed multiple vegetables
** 3x tuna salad
** spaghetti and meatballs
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.
hi d lady waving!!!!
glad the hours have been going by so nicely!!!
May the truck be a nice safe car that can go through the teen years -
why do teens think they can drive so fast. Dh used to be like that too and would scare the daylights out of me. I had to say I nope I will drive on my own. :shock: I have know him since I was 17.
the 360 is a great thing!
happy cooking
I cleaned out the front hall closet - it had become a tip - but now it's easy to use!
dogs loved it bc they kept finding slippers and all three of them ran around with a slipper in their mouths - chasing each other! Every so often I got inundated by three dogs licking my face at once. (they are too big for me :lol: )
tossed out old gym shoes.
cleaned out old coffee table - it's time to strip this or toss it.
it is always a joy to be here with you!
After lunch CI / My time today was used well I think.
I have dishes soaking in the sink.
Got my steps in for the day YEA!
My neck was out yesterday it's better today
but I am a bit out of sorts still.
I growled at the neighbors pesky dog that barks when ever I'm out in my back yard.
It retreated from the fence, then they came out and made it mind or took it inside not sure which.
I got strips cut of fabric selections were shades yellow some solid & some prints.
Next are blue ones.
I got a table cloth out of the rest of one of the pieces for the rec. room it's a nice change.
Thinking of what to do next I did some laps in the back yard picked up a few branches.
My team was way ahead they won!!!! :mrgreen:
I cleaned out the birds waterers in the front and the back yards both yea!
