Re: Tuesday before Thanksgiving PWYC

Good evening! Running through and waving. I need to get up early to take DH for his colonoscopy. I am worried that he is not doing his prep correctly; he has not spent much time in the bathroom. He says he’s supposed to take the last of the prep at 2am??? Well, I just hope it goes well tomorrow. Sorry if TMI.

I spent a lot of time today puttering. It was good for my step count but not so good for my productivity. And my evening was taken up by taking DD to the urgent care again. She said it felt weird to take a deep breath. After the urgent care and a visit to radiology at the hospital across the street, it turns out her bronchitis has not turned to pneumonia, thank goodness, but it looks like they will have to try some stronger stuff to get rid of the bronchitis. She can commiserate with my brother at Thanksgiving; he had quite a long case recently.

lucylee, I’m so glad you found your calendar!

I’m going to pack it in now. Everyone have a good night!

Cuop here before getting ready for bed. Keep meaning to stop in to post but time has really gotten away from me the past few days. Yesterday dh & I got an early start to do a quick Sam's run with a short list, drop it off home & then drive 45 minutes away to pick up bird seed for this winter. We were supposed to be home by 11:00AM or so, but we passed other stores dh wanted to stop in & didn't get home until after 1:00PM. We had to move & put away things in the shed that were in boxes before unloading the seed. (Not sure if I mentioned we got a new shed a few months ago as floor was in bad shape on our old one. When putting things back from the old one into the new, it was hot outside. We set up & organized the big stuff but left the small misc things in boxes for a cooler day but forgot to go back & put that all away). I usually have the most energy in the morning & the least motivation whenever I get home after being out of the house so this has been affecting me recently. After lunch dh got a phone call that Doctor's office had a cancellation for later that afternoon & did he want it? Yes, better than waiting until next month. He asked me to go with him & said he needed to make a return at a store in that town, too. Since we ended up in rush hour traffic we ate out before coming home. I feel like I lost the whole day in terms of getting much of anything done at home.

Hi Twins  -- How nice to be able to spend time with Z, family & their sweet baby. Oh, & I'm still in shock from yesterday when you warned us that Christmas is a month away! :)

Hi Helia -- happy to see you stop by. How fun that your dd will have a new puppy.

Hi blessed -- I'm glad that you got to enjoy a nice lunch with your dcousin & dmom. Thinking of you as you care for so many loved ones. Wonderful that you found your dmom's cell phone!

Hi Nancy -- glad you got to sleep in today. Congrats on your 10,000 steps yesterday, & way to go on all the outdoor work you've accomplished.

Hi Harriet -- you made me smile with your description of dealing with the male guest in your home today. :)

Hi Lady M -- sorry you lost a post & had trouble getting here today. Thankfully you are very tech savvy.

Hi Lucylee -- so glad you found your calendar! Good news to hear that your dcousin found a memory care facility near family that you dUncle likes. Sorry I can't answer your FB question. I hope the new pain patch helps your mom.

Hi Mystery -- hope all goes well with your dh appointment tomorrow. So glad your DD does not have pneumonia.

Well, update here is that the house is mostly decorated for Christmas. I'm moving slower than usual on that. We will put up & decorate tree & outside of the house sometime between tomorrow & Friday. I still need to bake pumpkin pies tomorrow. Was able to buy suet blocks for the birds at T ractor S upply since H ome D epot stopped selling it. We get a lot of different woodpeckers here & they all love it. There's a chance of snow in the forecast for next week so I'm glad we are stocked up on it & the seed.

That turning-a-crescent-roll-into-a-small-loaf-of-bread experiment worked well! I carefully removed the dough without taking it apart & placed it on a small pan lined with non-stick foil. Pinched together a few seams that were slightly pulling apart & baked it at 350 degrees in a preheated oven for 30 minutes. It yielded a delicious loaf that was crusty on the outside, soft on the inside & bigger than I expected. I'll definitely make it again.

Sweet dreams, everyone.
