I'm up early because I woke up when dh was puttering about and just got on up. I have a 10 a.m. dr appointment so need to get moving anyway. I am so very glad he has gone on to a breakfast meeting. The TV was droning on and getting on my last nerve.
Today I at least know if I'm having surgery this month and can plan around that. I'm also taking this lap top to best buy geek squad for service. I hate to have two appointments in the mall area on one day but I guess it can't be helped. It's only going to get busier between now and Christmas.
Our temps dropped overnight back to December norms. See Lucylee's comment about 70 degrees for her yesterday, our high was 64 and humid. When the fog evaporated yesterday morning everything was wet and the screened porch concrete floor never dried all day. And because it's going to be cooler, leftover chili is our supper tonight.

I slept poorly due to pain. Lights out at 10:10 is not useful if I'm awakened 5 or 6 times through the night. I stirred in pain at 5:55 and dh said the alarm was about to go off. No it wasn't, I had changed it to 7 back at 11:25 when I was aware I hadn't yet fallen into a restorative sleep. Anyway, I managed to get out of bed to pee and take an Aleve. Not that it is doing much good.
I just finished my tea and chocolate and light therapy so will try and get moving. I'd like to polish the silver candelabra before I leave at 9 for the first of my three things outside the home today. Appointment to pick up my second pair of orthotics, a worship committee meeting (my second last one) and my stretching class this afternoon. Dh has an appointment with an ophthalmologist during my exercise class to further explore what is happening with his ocular migraines.
My goal is to get the tree up with lights and garland tonight. And to sort through my wrapping paper and card pin, paring those contents down dramatically.
After saying yes to dgs3.5 arriving 30 hours early to stay with us, I realized I have the Christmas stuff Giveaway happening this Saturday in two lobbies so that means twice the work to get things set up. Sigh.... That one might be tricky with a preschooler in tow. Not that church and the buildings' Christmas party the following day won't also be really tricky since I'll be up front for part of the church service and during the singing at the party.
I am up on time today looking out on the frosty morning here.
I have done most of my QT stuff less journaling as early these days.
Did my basement walk about.
It is just now lite outside.
I slept well.
Resolved an issue with a sign in on a diff. site.

mom had a lovely evening with the caretaker - she is a lovely and kind soul.
She has left at 9:00 am and mom is still sleeping. In the middle of the night mom got up three times. The young woman focused her back to sleep when she got up - mom needs someone there, not for the physical care, but to have someone there. Mom needs people so she doesn't roam. it's only the first night but I decided that one day at a time is a success!
I have to call mom in 10 minutes - I know she will dislike it but I have to bring her here. She can't be alone.
boy we all missed her last night. It's amazing how quiet it is here!
dd younger is in Michigan with dog training type work , dd older is at work -
dh is back to himself again - I am in shock how different he is again. again one day at a time!
hello d twins! good luck at dr. appointment! thank you also for starting us. sorry you have to have an appointment in a mall area; especially at this time of the year. Can't believe that Lucy and you had weather at those temperatures! warm!
hello d Kathryn! I am so sorry you slept poorly due to pain! praying the pain goes away so that you can have peaceful and restorative sleep.

I got out ALL the cookie tins! There are 11 Christmas ones and two that could be used for sewing kits, if you know what I mean. One small "Danish" cookie tin and one small one that had chocolates in it from a "British" company.
Dishwasher is going.
I also put away a lot of unused stuff from the bathroom counter.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.
hoping to:
clean the family room -
do more laundry
hang up lights and ornaments -
make banana bread
dinner make
exercise/stretch
mom's meds at Walgreens
wrap presents
get 5 christmas cards written
Both kids are home this morning which is a bit different. DS16 will go to work at noon because of the cooler weather. DD13 and I agreed that she would never get another zero and she could stay home from school while most of the other kids went on the incentive trip.
It is strip, wash, dry and remake the beds day here. All sheets, pillow cases, comforters, blankets from the 4 beds are being washed. Doing it as a team is the best way I have found to get the teens involved.
Breakfast was eggs, potatoes (grated), hot links, sausage and biscuit. I filled the instant pot with potatoes and they are cooking now. Shrimp is thawing. I'm not sure what dish I will create with it.
LucyLee - I have never taken hormones of any kind since birth control in my 30's. I did ask OBGYN a couple of decades ago about taking them, but he said there were indications of causing cancer and didn't recommend them. I didn't follow up to find out if that statement was true.

Cooking was the emphasis this morning. There are several small meals in the fridge ready for me to grab, now. I'll be calorie counting for another 3 or 4 days. Not trying to manage for HRH, really - he knows what he wants, and he doesn't want what I'm eating, lol. I have a sweet potato cooling in the fridge and that will be a snack later.
Several more gifts bought, and delivery of some was orchestrated to arrive when we will be home and when the rains will be over.
Only our green-eyed boy continues to be a puzzle. I really wanted to get him a very nice golf hat he liked, but it wouldn't arrive until mid-January. I'm confused by 3 fishing tackle backpacks on his "wish list". I'm sure he doesn't want all of them. Only one fits the dollar amount, but if it keeps him from getting what he really wants, it's not a smart purchase.
