After errands update:

[ ] Finish the Christmas Eve Church Service Bulletin
[ ] Clean the bathrooms
[Done! ] Errand: Take my jewelry to the jewelry for repair.
[Done! ] Errand (added today): Pick up dd’s present from store attached to a decent sized mall
[Done!] Errand: (Added today) Shop at the same mall for presents and boots for me. (completely unsuccessful but I remembered to get lots of cash for presents and tips.)
[Done! ] Drop the unsuitable boots off for the A-river return.
[ ] DPC: Phone the clock repair guy about the clock in for repair
[ ] Book an adjustment appointment for my new orthotic. It took about 6 hours of wear before the same problem as before reared its head.
[ ] Book a doctor's appointment for my hips/knees. Time to get in the queue for x-rays, a referral to physio and/or onto a waiting list for surgery.
[ ] Write the words I'll be using on Advent 4 for the children’s time
[ ] Write my stuff for the December 29. I found the shared file of that service yesterday.

The suitcase store doesn't sell suitcases without 4 swivel wheels. These are completely useless for use on transit (dd observes this when taking the LRT because on of the stations is at the train station and people struggle to get their suitcases over the uneven surface for the visually impaired at the edge of the platform and then again over the gap onto the train.) They are also a big fail over cobblestones. Sigh...

No luck with boots except some nice ones for $250. No thank you, I have suitable boots, I just wanted some I could slip into easily.

The other item I wanted was vanilla scented, foaming soap. You'd think that would be easy to get but it has been sold out for a couple of months at our grocery store's pharmacy section so I tried the pharmacy at the mall (no luck) and the dollar store (the first place I ever bought it and it isn't sold there now, just fruit scents.) This is to mix with a special balsam scented soap to match as closely as possible dh's favourite winter soap (which is no longer available from Bath and Body Works.) There's a B&BW and a Samsonite store in a far-flung suburb where DC's pediatrician is and coincidentally, I have to pick her up from school (an hour away) and take her there on Thursday since her parents can't get off work in time to get her there on time. So I'll combine that errand with a last ditch attempt to get vanilla scented foaming soap. (I bet you didn't know it is a scarce commodity!)

I'm exhausted and had trouble walking at the mall. I'm better now that I'm home, but I'm getting really worried about my decreased mobility.

-watch a genealogy webinar
-bring down label maker from upstairs to change batteries, also bring some file folders
-15 min clean up for upstairs
-fix up present for dh's assistant
-write notes and address Christmas cards
-put clock up, if it's working
-put away the things on the steps and DR table
-water inside plants

I haven't made much progress honestly. The clock needed a battery. The old one is under the cabinet and I didn't crawl under to get it. Now a drawer in the kitchen is stuck - it has a knife rack in it and if one gets sideways it blocks the drawer opening. I probably need a flatter knife rack in the drawer. Dh came through while I was walking ddog. We had to double back to avoid Millie's nemesis, at least we got more steps in, I'll make my goal for the day, adjusted for not getting enough the last two days.

Dh is out tonight for bowling, also tomorrow night, so I'm not cooking. I had quiche and soup for my lunch, left from last night. at te

Tomorrow there is a funeral at temple. Ninety-something year old man, he and his wife were among the first friends who entertained us for Jewish holidays. His wife, who is deceased was a dear friend, as is his daughter. We're not as close to her as we have been at other times. Dh walked with H at workout place when he was late late eighties. He lived here all his life, ran a well known business and we think the world of the family. The deceased was honored last month at a music event at temple - he coordinated that event forever and I'm so glad he didn't pass away before this honor. I spoke to him that day, so glad I did. The family is famous private but the funeral and burial at the cemetery will be very well-attended. I need to plan enough time to get there early to park. We don't have enough parking but there is also street parking and a lot nearby that we are able to use, but it's a schlep. Ugh, chance of T storms/showers tomorrow but temp will be in sixties.

Ok, I'm going after the label maker and file folders upstairs, although I might get sidetracked and reward myself with stamping a bit. While I'm at it, I should take up the Christmas wrap that I used for dh's assistant's package. Last night dh asked me at 8:30, when I was on the couch, where it was and if I could find a box for it. And I wasn't about to do it then. Dh insisted that he wanted to take it TODAY but left it here this a.m.

Did some stuff in the craft zone where the new tv is in the basement. With such a rainy day was glad for that distraction.
Make up sandwich spread is next up for me. Cut up the home made bread I'd froze up.
Did another bobbin of plying until doghouse wanted fed & attn.

I have disobeyed blessed.

Jumped into the middle of my own dcousins' circus, using a "how I feel today" excuse for making a couple calls. I think I diffused the problem and maybe it will settle down now and not ruin anyone's season or relationship. But, of course, that's today. They can manage to stir it up again later, lol.

A lot of the various upsets I've witnessed today have been about perception. Things aren't really so bad if you take a careful look. Also, a deep breath and talk about it kindly.

Had a happy phone chat with dstepdil today.

If my telephone time, without complaint, makes it sound like my throat must be better - well, it is. These symptoms are changing rapidly and whatever bothers me enough one day to think the dr should know, pales the next day when something else pops up.

I did follow Twins' Mom and have a little paper creativity, making just a few gift cards that match the packages for the children. (Shhhhhhh) Gotta have some fun or you'll starve.

Kathryn, I can certainly understand why your dd realized your dgs your dgs was withdrawing too much. I am praying things begin to improve and he feels more "social."
"Spiraling" -- yep... after the day I've had today, I am certainly feeling on the verge of a BIG spiral. TRYING DESPERATELY not to let myself start spinning. I think I am better at this, but something like today just really put me on edge. Called ddil, cried... calmed down... called dmom... cried... calmed down... my goodness.
Called soon-to-be sister-in-law mainly to get her opinion on which tie to get dbil... told her what was going on... ALMOST cried -- but couldn't really get into MY concerns too much because SHE was in a fender-bender today. Thank goodness she was not hurt, and car is still drive-able... but she will need to get it into the shop soon. As she said, this was NOT on her plans for things to do today. Plus she had been to the driver's license place and had a big run-around with them. And as she said, she's been going to the same office for over 50 years.

Day was productive, however -- after the doctor, the bbq order, and the visit with daunt -- I went to the mall and got presents for dbil and dniece. Still at a loss for dnephew and dsoon-to-be sister-in-law. But I have to go back Thursday, and I have still not been to one of the main stores I want to check out before Christmas. Also ate at Chick-Fil-A, which always makes my day better. (Although it does tend to make me spend a lot of the rest of the day in the bathroom. Too spicy? Maybe some particular spice I am not good with? Very likely it is the frosted lemonade, but I love it ALL.)
I also sent the picture via text to dcousin and ds, with names of the children, which daunt quickly provided. She seemed very sure of who the 5 Depression-era children were. Well, pre-Depression. My grandfather was a baby, and he was born in 1920. He had two older siblings and 7 half-siblings, the youngest of whom is this aunt, born in 1940. I bet my great-grandmother had "female" complaints, wouldn't you think...

Anyway -- Kathryn continues to amaze me with all her busy-busy-busy activities...

Good for you, Rose, on getting to a "FINISHED" point in decorating. I was there some time ago. I love the lights and decorations on the tree, but some of this stuff just seems like clutter to me as I'm getting older. Dgrands apparently love it, so as long as they help set it all up, I'm good with it.
I will put stamps and address labels on cards tonight and mail them tomorrow. Then, except for a few last gifts, I'll be done.
(((HUGS))) and prayers for your surgeries to go well and recovery to be smooth!

(((Harriet))) I feel ridiculous complaining about an ultrasound and even a slight possibility of biopsy when you are dealing with all that's on your plate! Just know that YOU are in my prayers also and that all these side effects pass quickly!
Blessed -- my family has always been amused when I have lost my voice also! LOL.

Cathy, I have never eaten mincemeat. It sounds like it would be good, but does your version actually have meat in it? Apparently some does not, and is mostly dried fruit and nuts?

Blessed, I have never been on a sailboat either. Spent a lot of time during my childhood on a ski boat/cabin-cruiser, but never a sailboat. (Oh -- I wasn't the one skiing, that's for sure! My dad was the one skiing. My mom could ski, in her younger days, but she was a little more hesitant in the water than ddad.)
(((HUGS))) and prayers for you and your dmom, and other family members involved with her care. I know it has to be extremely stressful, even though you are always basically a poster child for optimism and good attitude.

Nancy, I will be working on my 2025 calendar soon... not letting myself have my new planner until Christmas, but I will fill out the kitchen wall calendar and purse calendar, probably as soon as I get those cards in the mail. Calendars will be my next project.
I think I dreamed I was teaching school again. Always recurring dreams -- this time the one where I realize I've been working for a while and never got my name on payroll, I've just been substituting for free. The other recurring dream is where I am teaching, for a great period of time, and I realize I have never taken attendance. LOL... Rose, do you have school dreams?

LadyM -- what a motivational thought for ME -- GO ON FACTS, NOT FEELINGS!!!
Seriously, I need to write that down. It would work for the present health concern, and also for my lazy mornings.
BTW -- I am allowing myself 9 minutes online before I get out of bed. When the snooze alarm goes off, my feet HAVE TO hit the floor.

Twins, looks like you are doing great! I'm sorry for the family and friends of the man whose funeral you spoke of, but it certainly sounds like a life well-lived.
We're having a lot of rain also. And very warm temperatures -- looks like the high tomorrow is supposed to be 67. I love it. Anytime I don't have to wear a heavy coat, the temperature is good in my opinion.

Thank you all for checking out the J&C worry I got today, and thank you for your prayers. I really think it is nothing, but gosh I hate to go through this to find out. And if it IS something... well, whatever it is, finding out NOW is better than finding out LATER, that's for certain.
Tomorrow is another day.
