Sunday Systems Getting Ready PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Are you getting those systems ready to go for 2025? It's coming. In fact, as I mentioned somewhere yesterday, this week (which I start on Sunday) has four days of 2025 and only three of 2024 remaining! Eeeeck!

Let's get moving!

I found this for today -

A Sunday's hush, a quiet grace,
Where dust motes dance in sunlit space,
A pause from chores, a moment's breath,
A day to mend, a day to rest.
The kitchen gleams, a polished pride,
With fragrant loaves of bread inside,
A table set with love's soft touch,
For family gathered, not too much.
The morning light, a gentle glow,
On freshly laundered linens, slow,
A book to read, a cup of tea,
A quiet space, just her and me.
No frantic rush, no hurried pace,
Just time to smile, to find a space,
To nurture self, to simply be,
A homemaker's Sunday, calm and free

Thank you d twins for starting us today!!!

Hi, there!
You two of the Great Minds Society today are merged. Two bright thinkers.

Twins' Mom is our trusty lookout, because ... .. "It's coming."

blessed is our center-er... .. "a quiet space... .. no frantic rush" 8-)

How I wish I could tell ya'll I slept last night. Um... .. well, I thought last night, and thought and thought. The brain dump was extensive! Notepad with writing curving all around.

on my calendar this week:

Monday: brunch with neighbors at local restaurant (my social anxiety awkwardness is starting - I have to practice more by getting out in new situations.)
Tuesday New years eve - we celebrate Florida time - 11 here.
Wednesday New years day - waiting to hear from brother what he wants to do.
Thursday eco shield to look for where mice are coming in
Friday having the heat company come in
Saturday my brother will be with mom so dh and I can go to dinner at d sis in laws.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Good morning.

Twins, I feel so unprepared for 2025!  And I only have 3 days left. I agree -- Eeeeck! :)

Loved the poem, blessed, & saved it (along with the two Christmas ones you posted recently). Thank you for sharing it.

Hi there, Harriet. Excited for you to have a long, fun adventure with dd26 tomorrow. I was sorry to read that you had to deal with shedding; was hoping that might not happen. ((hugs))

Quiet here. Dh is on his way to H ome D epot for something. He will also be looking for storage bins the same size that we already have for Christmas storage. I bought a few new decorations & most current bins are packed full & I'd like everything to have a little more breathing room & not crush anything.

Yesterday, today (& tomorrow if I don't get to everything) I'm cleaning -- sheets & towel laundry, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, scrubbing kitchen sink, etc. It will feel good to start the new year with a clean house. Several years ago I decided I would use the first few days in January to plan or continue to plan for the new year if I needed to. No more pressure to have everything in place & ready to go on January 1st, especially the years that Christmas decorations are not taken down by Dec 31. Dh really likes them up well into January, I usually want them down so we compromise. This year, I don't want to take them down either! At least for a few more days.

Chicken Alfredo with mushrooms over noodles for dinner tonight. Off to move sheets to dryer & vacuum a few more rooms. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Waving!
I slept in.
Had bfast.
Did my devo. & qt & DP [daily planning]
Cmas at dson's today.

I am getting there as for being ready for the new year not rushing it but did some prep.
the new prayer journal I penciled in some items I want to continue with for headers & a reminder to date it.
For future reference. LIke what I was doing on loose leaf sheets.
Got my tbr book stack set up one book looked interesting but when I got it the timing or some thing was off so I"ll
try again next year at some point.

I am going to utilize sticky notes so I can move em for things later on ...
What I"m doing is pretty much working.
Got the new tv in June and am just now getting a good handle on how it works at least part of the time.

I put in J&C — I think this biopsy has triggered all the anxiety that has been building since dh’s death. I am just paralyzed with it, and as dmom and ds point out, it’s unreasonable.
Tomorrow is another day.

Hi!

I've been up since before 6 and I couldn't come up with a start for today.

Dh and I went out for lunch. He wanted Burger King and we have a gift card for it, so we went.

It's very foggy here today and it's also pouring rain. It's dark and depressing. Dh had football on. It's the pregame with all the talking. UGH!

IF I was smart about this, I would get into a closet and start sorting somewhere. I did 2 shelves in the tall closet in the bathroom yesterday. Very easy shelves. The next shelf has most of the "stuff" on it, like cough drops and wipes for eye glasses...

Less than an hour later...

THAT shelf is done! I have some expired things to go to the pharmacy. I also have other expired things for the garbage.
