Woo hoo! We are officially undecorated! Boy, does it look boring in the house now.

Now it's time to make supper. Dh requested cheeseburgers. I want a box of macaroni and cheese to go with the burgers. No idea what dh wants.

? I needed to see how long I could keep things in the freezer - I am in the process of going through the freezers - I now have two. - I found https://www.foodsafety.gov/food-safety- ... age-charts food safety dot gov and some of the items seem like It is way to short such as bacon - I have frozen bacon up to 6 months.
How long do you keep items in the freezer?
I think I will have to use a permanent marker to mark when I freeze items.

What are your thoughts?

fridge emptied out and tallied - not washed - it needs washing but it's not happening today.
I have been missing dd's but it's good for them to be gone together. I sound cheerful and happy for them but I do miss them. I also miss dd's dog!

yay sis boom bah d cathy - yay that you are undecorated.

hi d Nancy yay on church, putting away the food, waving to you

mom is snoring - she sleeps and wakes up - but I will get her up in a half an hour.
dh is busy puttering

I got out the seed heat mats - I want to start some geraniums this year - the cost of all the planters in our area is so expensive now. I was in shock last season.

I still have to undo the wreaths for the wire back- my brother has pines, spruces etc. on his land so I may take advantage of getting greens from him.. the mini treats were 31 $ this year - they may have been 34 but I don't want to fib about the price.

received our rings for the jars - I am hoping to make stock/broth, again, for the cabinet along the way. lots of things are becoming expensive - I have to admit I have been shocked at the groceries when I went the other day. I bought things along the fall/beginning winter that should last until spring/summer - I dislike shopping when it is snowing/icy. I put a hold on my a river automatic things except for dog food, paper towels and tp. I have enough of everything else until spring/summer. I will let my cousin know incase she is running out of stuff.

I had gotten rid of my insta-pot bc it was just dh and I for awhile and dh eats his own things I loved it for stock so I may look on fb marketplace to see if I can find a cheap one.

I don't know how dh does it. there isn't a veg/fruit in his repertoire. He eats only hot dogs, American processed cheese, eggs, corned beef hash, white bread with margarine, spaghettios, frozen cheap meatloaf meals, hamburger by White Castle or rare a hamburger, fries, Italian sausage, polish, cheap Salisbury steak meals, frozen macaroni and cheese. He used to eat the dinner I made when younger but these last two years he only eats the above. Especially since January 2023. Once in a while he "may" try what I make esp. if it is fish. (but that is not guaranteed)
I keep trying but I think his brain has gotten stuck on this routine.
I know I am not that bad of a cook

hope your day is good everyone!!!

We are a talkative bunch today.

I'm trying to decide whether to walk the dog again. We did two laps earlier. She's quiet now, sleeping on our bed, and like a baby, I hate to disturb her tbh.

Dh will be out tonight bowling. I have too many things on my list for this week. I must do some prioritizing, although, I have no appointments out of the house. Probably hasn't happened in a long long time. I need to use the week wisely.

So many conversations going on here and so much to process!

LadyM, I am in several Facebook groups devoted to using AI in genealogy. Evernote not has a feature where it will transcribe a document - an old deed perhaps. There are errors but I can get the gist of it usually. I need to learn more about some of the other uses, tho.

Tonight I'm working on a DAR course. I signed up for it in the fall, one day when I felt ambitious, but must complete by 13 Feb. It's kind of hanging over me, so I'm at least doing a chapter or two.

use a permanent marker to mark when I freeze items.
I do this when putting food in the refrigerator. I use a permanent marker to write on painter tape. I need to know exactly how long food has been in the refrigerator. Also, as I package into individual servings, I weigh the food that I am going to eat and write the grams on the painter tape too.

I took DH to church for elder meeting. I will go in an hour and meet up for chapel service.

DS16 has 3 friends here installing a sound system in pickup. I can hear their music even though they are in the shop 100 ft away from the house.

might slice it first.

that is really smart d lady - I will do them same from now on. painters tape is a brilliant idea.
I was shocked on how little time that they suggest to keep certain items - I keep bacon for three to six months not two months etc.

hope your dh enjoys his time at the elder meeting!
I love hearing about your d sons adventures = it reminds me of my brother when we were growing up!

d twins - we are a good talkative group today!!!
enjoy your time as your dh is out bowling!

yay on walking today d Nancy - yay on washing dishes tonight - I still have to do mine - you are inspiring me to do mine!

I spent awhile on the DAR course - it's related to DNA, which I've used in genealogical contexts, although DAR rules are tricky IMHO. I think I'm approximately through 40% through it, so that takes off some of the pressure.

I'm going to go read with the dog in bed. She'll need to go out before bedtime or during the night I suspect.
