Here we go swaying, with a swish and a swipe, and hopefully something to capture tossables. I still recommend the wrist corsage (plastic grocery bag on wrist to catch what's outgoing in trash!) Twins' Mom and Kathryn may be doing this in hotel rooms or other travel accommodations. Some of us may be so caught up (Cathy) that we hardly need spend much time. But it's always good to bear that first-of-the-weekend moment in mind. Some households are preparing for the incoming (say, of teens, like LadyM)!

My coffee table is at a low ebb and needs serious hot-spot attention. It is under there, I know it. We will need to make a big, cleanly mopped space for the assembly of my new kitchen table by dstepson and HRH this afternoon.

Really cold here, btw - not budging much from yesterday, but all clear on the roadways. Schools are in session here. I don't know about DangerBoy's campus since they have had it worse there, closed even before ours made announcements. I think tomorrow we expect our first real upward progress! One site said by only 3 degrees on the high, but as much as 10 degrees on the low, so yay. I'm for an end to shivering.

Since opening here, I've been in kitchen cleaning steadily. Guess ya'll can tell I'm going into the prednisone-zone. Up early, can't sleep, bursts of energy and optimism. And then poof, she was gone (probably napping on upholstered chair when least expected). 5 days on this regimen and then however long it takes to wear off.

Today we have one trip out. I must get my injection to keep up my white blood cell count and some immunity. While out, we have scripts to pick up at pharmacy 1, plus gasoline fill-up. One script is eye-popping dollars but capped in a few months. Sigh. But do-able.

The record of 4th-quarter medical expenses arrived yesterday. Sobering soberness. Ya'll .... ..... if not for SS/Medicare (and smaller help from Medicare-monitored insurance addition), would I be able to afford to take this care of myself right now? The numbers for all these treatments and scans are in another world from my budget. Savings would take a hit requiring smelling salts. But as it is I "may owe" $3 for 4th quarter and do owe $77 for something previous which ins finally refused to pay a part, and I will not question. I'll pay that today at the office where I get the injection. I guess HRH's having had good insurance kept us from sticker shock too badly back when he had his kidney treatments younger than Medicare age, each one requiring a real hospital room for 12 hours (yikes).

Hi! Thank you for starting us off today Harriet. For the record, I'm not as caught up on daily things. Putting off dishes and laundry some days because I am stuck in the net I call a library. There are landmines of difficult decisions and over-the-top ADHD/neuro-divergent/whatever the proper label is for just sitting and staring at the remaining small pile of "stuff" because it's all just stuff at the end of the day.

We are in need of wet cat food and some pantry items. I need to actually go look in the chest freezer. Right now it's probably warmer in the freezers than it is outside. Yesterday was tropical compared to the few days before that. Today is another multi-layer day for clothes.

A friend of mine is on the east coast of Cuba near the southern end of the island. I wonder if they took enough long pants or jackets to stay warm at night while they sit in the lounge. I've been to the same hotel and there is a breeze on the hottest of nights in that particular part of the hotel The locals think it's too cold when the temperature is less than 80F.

Well my day turned on a dime. When the water meter guy exchange the old for the new, but didn’t tell us he was turning off our water until after he did it. My washer was running at the time and once I was told I quickly turned my washer off. Whatever… now after doing several home suggestions my washer still doesn’t work. I’ll spare you the mess I made by draining the tub. Let’s just say that had a Niagara effect and I wasn’t prepared even though I thought I wash. It over flooded my bucket and filled part of my stands drawer that my washer sits on.

I had unloaded my clothes from the tub and they were soaking wet because they were sitting in water. Put them in laundry basket and the bottom of that filled with water…all I can say is…what a mess

Trying to get the 2 inches of water out of the drawer was a challenge. Couldn’t detach it and a plastic cup didn’t remove much water. Tried a Turkey baster, which worked but was going to take hours to remove the water. Then I got a brilliant idea to use my spin mop to soak up the water and spin it out in its bucket…Bingo!!!! I are smart sometimes

Anyway the repair man will be here between 11-2. I need to get back in the laundry room and move a few things around so that he will have plenty of space to work.

The rest of the day will be spent attending to a few small projects around the house.

expenses are sobering aren't they?

dh's expenses, at the time 15 years ago, would have cost us $500K if it were not for health insurance we had back then. We had to pay but about $500k was covered. As my brother takes care of our insurance - looks at expenses and to make sure medicare/extra health insurance is correct: I no longer see the bills but know what needs to be paid after all the insurances pay their amount. I am grateful for the insurance. there is problems with red tape and what they cover but it's good that we were covered.

Gillie our one dog ate a lot of sunflower seeds that I put out for the cardinals and ended up getting up 5 times in the middle of the night to go outside. she must also have a skin issue and she has been licking her legs and spends quite a bit of time rubbing her body in the snow when she is outside!

I was surprised that it was -7 this morning when we were supposed to have 40 this Saturday - it's not going to be 40 any more

Fri. is my free day I did spiff a bit more in my butterfly room to get progress on it is so very freeing!
I can use my desks now for current projects I so appreciate that.
Temps. are about the same here.
Slept to nearly 7 and have only just finished up my QT stuff.
No journaling yet.
I do need to do a swish n swipe in the bathrooms today.

swish and swipe waltz

BTDT.
Daily swish/swipe of the bathrooms are happening here. I need to add the waltz step to this! I have put spray and single use clothes in each of the bathrooms, so it is quick to do. I can see the difference it is making as the days pass.

I have spent some time in the kitchen getting food ready for today. I made breakfast (eggs, bagels, bacon, hot link, OBrien potatoes) and also made 10 French bread type pizzas. It doesn't seem like I am making much progress on getting ahead with having ready-to-eat food. It disappears quickly. Not a problem but just something I have to be consistent in making more. I pulled out my old Better Homes Cookbook to look through for inspiration. This cook book was a wedding gift 52 years ago and it is filled with my notes and dates of when i made the different recipes.

I ordered a couple cases of Luzianne tea bags to replenish our pantry stock. We use 4 bags a day and they aren't easy to find locally in the quart size. Ariver provides a solution to that.

Service guys are gone… they are from Ukraine and are beyond nice. Really impressed with their work ethics
They can fix my machine but need to order the parts. He said he will back on Sunday!

LadyM…I still have that cookbook and mine is 55 years old. Plus I only use Louisiana tea to make my ice tea.

After lunch I will spend time helping Sweetie with his computer work.

I have made & ate my bfast egg & roll it's 10:30 here now.
Have soup in the post ready for lunch now too.
Got one journal done now.
Did a swish n swipe in the bathrooms.
Listened to Diane in Denmark yt vid. for the weekly set up & prep.
Feeling a bit more on track now.
So glad I did the rounds on my butterfly room.

Still fighting a head cold lyzine helped with cold sore and some zinc I need to take em.
