Snow a few flakes here and there when I was out, it's snowing

Well, thought I had solved the issue with the pink screen on my upstairs laptop but no. I updated some drivers this a.m., and issue just came back. Rats. I had hoped that would solve it. Best buy tech support says I need to bring it in so I'll get it there on Tuesday. I'm doing a spring genealogy institute that will be on all day on Wednesdays beginning on 19 February, so I'd like to resolve it.

I've stamped a little and done a little genealogy online, but this pinkish screen makes me crazy.

Twins, I hope you get the laptop fixed quickly. Nothing is more aggravating than a computer that won't work!

But a computer that WILL work is a wonderful invention! As LadyM said, I never take for granted being about to be with you ladies here in our peaceful little village, I am so thankful for all the support and kindness shown here.

I know it's late and y'all won't read this tomorrow (Sunday) but I thought I'd let y'all know I wasn't missing all day because mainly, I've been busy with dgrands all day. DGS is here now, and he has once again thrown up after chicken noodle soup. So, no church and no football banquet for him tomorrow. But -- last night he ate a sandwich from J*mmy J*hns and he may have thrown up a little bit, but mostly he did pretty well afterwards. So today, he wanted to try S*bway -- I think if he were left to his own devices, he'd eat three meals a day there. He had roast beef, black olives, and mixed shredded cheese on plain bread. Did fine for at least 4 hours. Hungry again, and I gave him a bowl of chicken noodle soup. (In between, I had given him a Zofran, because he did feel a little nauseous, but everything was staying on his stomach fine. Then... eating the chicken soup... before he finished, running to the bathroom again. He added Ritz crackers to the soup, but generally, crackers of any kind, by themselves, have been fine.
He had drunk nothing but Vitamin Water and Gatorade. So... with that done, the next time he felt hungry, he ate some vanilla wafers, and I baked him a potato, and he ate every single bite of it -- no butter -- just salt and pepper. He even ate the peel. DDIL plans to take him to the doctor on Monday, unless he makes a miraculous recovery tomorrow and can eat somewhat normally.
You'd think he had already made a miraculous recovery. He was ready to lie down, so I shut down everything and came to bed to watch a program he said he wanted to watch on tv, but he has been running around the bedroom, illustrating football plays and asking me if this was a touchdown or not. I finally told him he HAD TO settle down, his mom doesn't want him running around getting hot and everything. So now he is in the floor, and Winnie the Pooh and Snoopy are playing a football game vs two other stuffed animals.
I'm glad he doesn't have his face in the computer, and I'm glad he's not too "cool" to play, AND I'm very glad he still wants to talk to me... but good gracious. I always tell people, he was so late to talk that I was worried about him, and once he started, he has not closed his mouth for five minutes.

BUT -- I did get some things done today.
FIRST -- I switched a shelf that was in the guest room, and organized dgrands' clothes, so now, so they can get pj's without pulling the whole stack down.
The shelf is small -- it is a rotating video cabinet. It's probably about 45" tall, and has four shelves on each side. The shelves are only the width of a VCR tape, standing up. I may have to find a drawer in ds's dresser that I can put dgs' clothes in, and start hanging his pants. He's almost as tall as me now. (I already hang up his Sunday clothes, the ones on the shelf are just casual clothes, pj's, and underwear.

SECOND -- I started working on the tax stuff. For some reason, I cannot find our returns since 2020! I do not know where on earth dh put those papers. Obviously, the file drawer he was using filled up but where he started storing the last ones... I can't figure this out.
But anyway, using the categories he did back then helps me remember what I need to include. I have some questions for the accountant.
-- One thing is how to keep my tax bill reasonable next year when I am filing single.
-- Also, I got TWO 1099s, one with something like $600 and the other with the rest of my retirement for the year. I don't understand this at all.
-- And, when I cashed ds's savings bonds, DS had to sign because the names on the bond were DS and dh. BUT I kept the money, because we've been giving DS the interest they earned month by month. These bonds were from my dinlaws', and were supposed to be for his college expenses, but we paid for that so we could leave the bonds till they reached full maturity. But now that DS is the only one named, he may have to report this "income" even though technically, he "received" the principal value 20 years ago, and he has been getting the interest on a monthly basis ever since. (DH found a website that he typed in the bonds by their numbers, and it tells when each bond comes due and how much interest they have gained each month.)
I just write DS a check each month, and it's usually about $30-35. But since the bond is now in his name alone, it may be a problem if he doesn't claim the full income from it, right, Twins? I hate for him to have to do that, but it amounts to around $1500/$1600, I think. That surely won't put him in a different tax bracket, will it?

I better turn this off and turn out the lights. I am NOT skipping church tomorrow. My Wednesday night class is done with the current study, though, and we are going to skip the month of February and start back in Lent, the first week of March. There are only four of us who attend, and one of them is 79 years old and showing some signs of physical and mental decline. We don't want her driving after dark, honestly, and the preacher said by March, we'll have a little bit longer days.

To fix a pink screen on your laptop, you can try the following steps123:

Update your graphics card drivers.
Check for bent or cracked peripheral wires or connecting cables.
Remove any overclocked settings for your GPU or CPU.
Disable problematic apps at startup.
Uninstall malicious apps.
Update the display drivers.

But if still under warranty, yes Best Buy needs to support.

Display driver, or video card driver or settings that got messed up. The fear might be the cable from mother board on laptop to the monitor and in that case Best Buy has to take it apart to fix it.

Try hooking the laptop and hook to a different monitor instead of the laptop's and see if that fixes it. Then you would know it was likely a problem with your laptop monitor or cable.
