Re: Working (or not) Monday PWYC
We are observing the Ontario holiday of "Family Day". I don't know what other provinces celebrate it. It was decided a few years ago that a long weekend was needed part way through the winter. We have a long weekend in September and October plus Christmas/New Years for December/January. There is "March Break" for students in March plus Easter either in March or April. There is Victoria Day in May, schools get out in June and there is the July 1st holiday and then the first of August is another long weekend. Kids in this area have a 5 day weekend due to the weather here this weekend. Most stores and all government offices are closed today. Restaurants and most large pharmacies are open.
Besides K in C being gone, I looked for Bittersweet a couple of days ago. I can't find anything since October/November. Does that mean I'm the only Canadian left here?
Plans for the day? I'm going to watch curling, read and cross stitch. I'm also going to have a long, hot shower. Dh is going to clear more snow and maybe clear off the truck.

d Cathy - you represent Canada proudly - b is sweet comes in when she can. I am sure we will see her again!
I love that you all have Family day! That's a fantastic holiday!
enjoy watching curling
d twins hello thank you for starting us! I think I am going to make a card that says "what's working at your house" for the first of the month.
hope you have a great day too
hello everyone.
dd has to work - I think schools have off but many are going to work.
d youngest dog has a vet appointment.
(it's -1 and they say it feels like -15 but the good news is that after this week our temps start going getting warmer)
home at 12:15 long appointment but she did good

Re: Working (or not) Monday PWYC
We're supposed to see snow showers tomorrow night and/or Wednesday, but not accumulation. Temp today is going to mid forties.
Dh is still home for now - his office isn't open today. He said he would probably go to work and do some continuing education. Four months left and he still has to do it, he grumbled. And he has dinner out with a friend/client this evening.
As for me, I have a workout this afternoon at two. Otherwise, today is open.
I just mended two items - been my my list for quite awhile. A turtleneck, around the bodice to turtle edge, and a dog toy that was leaking its insides.
Looks like my script will be ready by this afternoon, so I'll come home that way after my workout. No bank trips today, lol, they are closed. I have one HOA check to collect, one to deposit, and now, a cemetery check to deposit. Hope I can get that last HOA check this week, sent email on Wednesday so giving them a week for response before i go to next level.

Re: Working (or not) Monday PWYC
It is a normal day here. Public school and homeschool are happening. DD13 has an appointment with her counselor after school so we will be headed to the city immediately after school.
The weather forecast has increased the number of hours to 105 that we are expecting to be below freezing. I decided to reschedule Wednesday medical appt and postponed an appt with our financial advisor. If it isn't an emergency, then I have no intention of putting myself in a possible dangerous weather situation. The school has already sent notice they are making plans to switch from IRL to virtual learning. They haven't officially declared it yet but are just letting parents know to be prepared to have kids at home.

HRH is out on errands, taking all tax stuff to preparer in a doorstep appt. He will get gasoline either on the way or way back, and if he feels like it may stop for some take-out.
He was leaving with cellphone when it suddenly rang and was my dcousin, so I got cousin to call back on house phone and sent cell on with him. I just don't want him stranded on the side of the road without it. Good conversation with dcousin, brief.
Well, he's back quickly - don't believe we have take-out after all! poof

Re: Working (or not) Monday PWYC
Quiet day here! I got to workout - had a great workout as usual. Trainer said I made her feel bad last week when I wanted to do more reps so it was a slightly harder workout. Stopped for script at CVS on the way home - little line - and lady at cashier said it was showing that it was still backordered. I know that this a.m. online said "Preparing" and online then said backordered. So I went to talk to other counter where the pharmacist is, and low and behold, it was there. But then it took at least 30 min for them to get it ready, and then line was out the door... Finally they announced it and I hated to jump line to pick it up, after all, everyone else in line was waiting for something that was ready? But then they announced another one and the pharmacist came over to ring that up, so I got behind that guy and she had mine ready to hand to me. Long trip home.
Dh has gone out for dinner with a friend. He took his little sports car - hasn't driven it most the winter. Not nice enough to put the top down tho. I walked the dog - she got wound up over two dogs that she doesn't like walking on the other side of the street.
I'm going upstairs....

Folded and put away one load of laundry.
Weather has shaped up.

Re: Working (or not) Monday PWYC
Sitting in waiting room for dd13 appt.
On the way here i dropped off the 9x13 chicken pot pie at Dgs27 home. No one at our home will eat it. Dd48 makes these from scratch and sells them for $40. She has several weekly customers. The food is good but getting the teena and dh to eat vegetables is impossible. It has too many carbs for me.....all this to say im glad it found a home that will appreciate it.
All schools in my area are announcing they are closed due to the cold temps. I find this a source of amusement....it is 51F degrees with nothing on the ground.....and we are cancelling school due to weather.
We are home. On the way to the appt I stopped and got DD13 and DH supper (Sonic was DD13 request). After the appointment I bought a couple hundred groceries at sams. On the way home from there I stopped and bought DS16 and GF chicken strip dinner (x2) and a bag of cheeseburgers (Braums). Everyone was fed....except me. I chose to wait until I got home to eat.
Oh....there was no eggs at sams. No milk either. (panic buying in anticipation of the storm?) ANYway I ended up paying $10.57 for one dozen eggs from Braums on the way home. Really! >>>>shaking my head while I am wondering why the price of chickens hasn't gone up...just the eggs<<<<<
