March Forth with Ta Das Tuesday

Post by Twins' Mom »

Today is March Fourth so we're justified in marching forth! And while we're marching, tally up those ta das for the record!

Good morning!

I have my comfortable and supportive shoes on and am ready to get started with March Fourth.

DD13 isn't pleased with the decision I made. I took my time (a month) to make sure it was the right decision for the situation. I sought counsel from DD13 therapist and from close family members before I implemented it. I am confident that it is the best for DD13...even if she doesn't think so right now. We will be working though the fallout from this decision and consequences. Raising teens isn't always easy.

I'm going to continue with what is working for me the last couple of days. Listing 3 things keeps me focused and moving forward.

Next up - Outside. Inside. Take care of me.
** Pick up items that got tossed around during the storm last night.
** Swiffer the floors
** Personal AM care

I'm feeling achy this morning and still a little depressive. Yes, I do feel more upbeat after my workouts, thank you for pointing it out to me. All those new movements yesterday (just what the trainer ordered) did leave me with aches and pains.

dh threw me for a loop this a.m., instead of calling a repair person for the craft icemaker in our refrigerator, he wants me to troubleshoot. By the time he left he agreed we would troubleshoot tonight. I've been pulling up videos and instructions for him for several weeks and he hasn't looked at them. (Like I need another thing to be pinging my brain?) I've now downloaded the app for the refrigerator and and I'm updating software. Maybe that will tell us what's wrong with the icemaker. (This refrigerator has the regular ice, and an additional "craft" icemaker which makes the round balls of ice for bourbon drinks that dh likes.

He got the garbage out earlier, and I just brought it back in with the LAST HOA check for this year! I think I can deposit one check via the app, so I'll try that. I also need a trip to my own bank, maybe tomorrow?

I need to troubleshoot our refrigerator too. I have been procrastinating on doing it.

Next up - Outside. Inside. Take care of me.
** Asparagus raised bed. Look for asparagus first spear of 2025. It usually happens in the first week of March.
** Homeschool with DS16
** Prepare a healthy breakfast.

Three things;
empty dishwasher
do last HOA deposit with online app
write a citation

Dog was walked, ta da!

I have a two p.m. dental appointment near the mall. I hope to take sunglasses, which are hurting me behind one ear, and get them adjusted. Trying to figure out what else I should do in that area. Maybe going into Trader Joe's for flowers would be nice?

We're to have gusty high winds today (not yet) and storms late tonight into early a.m. High to be around 65, we have a wind advisory and a fire danger warning. (Fire danger last few days, dh couldn't build a fire last weekend...)

Those done.

Next up - Outside. Inside. Take care of me.
** Plant onions. I am trying to do a dozen or so a day.
** Homeschool with DS16
** Continue with hourly 250+ steps. I have been successful in doing that for the first 4 hours of my day. It only takes about 5 minutes of walking to accomplish so it is just a matter of remembering to do it. The payback is immediate because my body stays limber and moves easily instead of getting stiff.

Well I had planned to start planting my sunflower and other seeds today but it’s extremely windy and we are supposed to get mulch some time this week.

I have a secret which I can now share. Several weeks ago the police came and gave a presentation abt safety and homelessness in our area. It was very interesting and during their talk they mentioned their PAL’s program

This is a program that mentors young kids by providing a basketball camp and help with homework among other things. They mentioned they were in need of volunteers to help with tutoring some kids… so you know what I did

Spoke to the officer after the presentation and he asked me to email him with my qualifications. Done. He sent it to the officer who runs the program who then called me.

We set up a meeting for yesterday to talk about the program and how I could help. Course these are the kind of kids I worked with for 25 years. Anyway I start on Thursday. The hours of the program are Tuesday and Thursday 5-7:30 pm.

I miss working with kids but have no desire to be a sub. I told him I wanted to be introduced as an academic coach and not a teacher to the kids and he loved that idea.

Although I’ve been fingerprinted many time, in fact my card is still good.. I will need to go through the city’s security and fingerprinting process. I am excited about this opportunity and can’t wait to start.

Tomorrow I have a MRI scheduled to see if my aneurysm has gotten any larger. MRI’s don’t bother me so this will be a piece of cake

LadyM… I like the way you came about your daughter concerns. As I have said before counseling and advice from those I trusted really helped my son navigate his jr high years. At the time he didn’t like what needed to be done, but his counselor gave him a safe place to vent while helping him come to turns on the changes that needed to be made.

Good morning!

Not too many ta-das yet. Dropped DC at school. They don't have play rehearsal tonight & so I will pick them up right after their afternoon class. I have decided the family is going out to dinner this evening. We won a gift certificate to a local restaurant at a trivia night at the beach club late last summer. I thought we should use it before the new beach club season starts, and by the time Lent is over, the season will be upon us. Even sooner -- I got an email saying flyers will need to be delivered this weekend for two upcoming events, the Easter egg hunt and... something. I can't remember. Possibly a Pickleball outing; one of the families in the club has started a Pickleball place, so they've hosted a couple of events there.

I'm getting ready for payroll to restart next week. My work computer was supposed to update itself to Windows 11, and it didn't, so one of the tech guys is currently controlling it remotely and forcing the update. I should contact the temp agency and see what needs to be done to restart. I think the only thing I need to do on my end is start resubmitting timesheets, but I'm not sure. I would very much like to get paid for my prep time this week.

Once I get through here, I will go over some things with DD. I'll see if the driving school has contacted her back. Yesterday, she got an email from them with dates and times for her lessons. They managed to hit on the three dates in the next few weeks that I have morning appointments. So she had to let them know they wouldn't work. I think I might also like to work in the sun room. We have a bunch of things in front of the shelves in there, and the shelves themselves are full of old toys. I'd like to get those out of there and put some of our game collection there. Right now, there's a sack and a couple of stacks of games in front of the one china cabinet in the dining room.

I'd also like to get exercise and laundry done before I pick up DC.

I hope Cathy is feeling better today.

Teenagers aren't going to be happy all the time no matter what you do, LadyM, so you might as well do the right thing. :)

I hope the app helps with the fridge, Twins. If I were in the same situation, I'd be quite ticked with DH. Congrats on being finished with the HOA checks! That's a huge ta-da!

Congratulations to you on the volunteer position, Rose! I'm sure they couldn't have asked for a more perfect person. I hope the MRI has nice things to say.

Have a great day, everybody!
