Hello, everyone!

I hope you enjoyed your time at the beach, FFB!

Helian, today's lunch was roast pork, roast potatoes, roasted carrots , pepper and broccoli gravy, apple sauce, followed by Greek yogurt and lemon curd fool.

RRose, I love the term "footprints". It's an excellent way of remembering to pick up after myself!

Smilelee, thank you for understanding - I've deleted my post. I think "healthy habits" can include habits for our mental health and general peace of mind as well as physical health? So I think it should be perfectly ok to post on that link. :D

L.Ann, how wonderful to have a new treatment for DD that will potentially boost her immune system - her current susceptibility to infection mist be a huge source of worry.

Trissie, I hope the homework was completed without too much stress on all sides! A good quality chocolate can have several health benefits! :D

Cathy, your beef stew sounds delicious!

Hi, Gma!

It's been a good day, with an excellent sermon from our visiting preacher. Afterwards I had coffee with DF E 99 in her flat (she lives in a warden managed retirement complex) and she was back to her usual feisty self after her recent health scare.

I had a little time in my garden, and even sat out there and enjoyed the sun for a few minutes. This evening I've done some more toy photo project - I'm slowly working my way through a box of photos, putting them into some sort of order and then into albums, with labels. Freddie has also spent a couple of hours on my lap, and now Matilda has decided it's her turn

Pock up my footprints! (Thank you, RRose!) What does this mean specifically for me? 0ff the top of my head: PUPA things out of place before I go to bed, PUPA tools I have used to do the housework, wipe down kitchen surfaces when I've finished there. In other words, pick after myself!
Email A with my thoughts and answers to questions, and apologies for the meeting I can't attend.
Make list of outstanding jobs on the house and send to Handyman A. DF PM, who has been mentoring him through some difficult turns his life has taken, thinks he may be ready to start some jobs again. (If he doesn't reply in a reasonable time, or doesn't want to do anything, then I'll look for someone else, but I would prefer not to do that). Off the top of my head, clean gutters and the swan neck on the downpipes where "stuff" tends to accumulate, clean cladding back and front and downpipes, and short return wall as well. Replace the bit of mortar that's fallen out of the edge of the roof (I think its called the verge?) , fix dripping kitchen tap ( new washer?), sort out cabinet that wobbles, fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. More as I think of them? πŸ˜€ ( Waiting for a reply)
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)

I figured I better copy my list over before I lose it. I think in time I will break it up as here there are some specific threads for most of my goals. Crafts. Health. But for now it's here.

I'm not in my own home atm and my routines are a mess. But that is ok. I am ever grateful for my friend E who has done as much as I have here with mom. She is amazing. Experienced caregiver from her own parents. Her mom was almost her whole life unhealthy and needed care. She spends the day here while I can work. I went to church for the baby dedication that was happening and enjoyed that very much. Dad is doing ok. His surgery is successful. He's had a few setbacks coming off the anesthesia but I think he's coming around and I am trusting tomorrow will be a fresh start. Not sure yet when they will be home but I want him stable and semi mobile first.

Gma thank you so much for the suportive pm.

I think as I was reading this forum there are many caregiver people here.

We found a project here at moms that dh and ds15 are working on. We had a counter top sink at the store that was there for many years and never sold. We got it for really cheap. Just required a faucet and a couple pieces and it replaces dad's broken faucet and chipped rusty basement sink. Same color as the previous. No one wants it now but the cabinet is already that color. Then I can wash some walls in there and Detail clean. I know it's next to the shop but dad uses it all the time. Shower stall is easier for him. We've set up the tub with chair and shower wand for mom. That was eventful for e and I yesterday.

Next task? Downsizing this house along with mine. Eeeks. Mom has 3 closets and two dressers of clothes. That is only the beginning.

As for little dgs. He's finally passed his birth weight. Yay. So adorable but he's going to be little for a while. He was 3 weeks early. And maybe almost 6 lbs now. Yesterday was his due date. Mommy is ok but still feeling the effects of pre eclampsia. Hopefully soon she recovers all the way.

When dh is finished with the sink I will do supper. E left us a bunch of perogies. And sausage. Easy. I think there will be some to freeze for dad yet.

laurlind ~ You've got a handful. Glad you're dad is doing well and dgs has picked up weight. Aren't those grand babies just a whole lotta sweetness?! Looks like you, dh, & ds are quite the team! I understand about the house cleaning out - one room, one patch at a time.
L.Ann ~ . Ditto on the cajun spice! I'm impressed with the DVD decluttering! I have a slew of them here - AND video tapes - still.

Li'l H was a joy! Man.. I love that kid! She wanted to do a lot of wrestling tonight, so big opportunities to get in a lot of active hugging. Winding down for the night. House is picked up from whirlwind Li'l H being here. Her supper choice for a month has been "breakfast for supper." I think it's mostly because bacon comes with it
