What you need Sunday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Here's a gift: Today, Sunday, is whatever you need it to be! Personally, I'm needing a quiet day, so poof! That's what I will have. Others might need a worship day, or work day, or start the week type of day, and it is thus granted!

Make the day your own, tailored exactly to your needs today.
Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better [wo]man. Ben Franklin

Good morning!

My day is off to a good start. I don't take that for granted and always want to acknowledge the good moments.
new xray - have ya'll experienced this? :?: A gun-like camera for which the technician does not even leave the room, just aims and takes a "photo"?
Yes. Our dentist does 3 types of xrays depending on the timing and needs.
** The old fashion xray that has been done for decades. They lay a lead apron type covering over the patient and the hygienist steps behind a lead shield to take the xray.
** The circular xray. The patient stands still and the xray machine moves 360 degrees around the patient.
** The handheld xray machine like you described when needing to pinpoint a single tooth.

Happening in the kitchen today -
Ingredient prep - cook hamburger/cheese patties. chop romaine lettuce, Chicken nuggets in air fryer
Protein available - ham, shrimp, chicken, crumbled bacon, hot links, pepperoni, HB eggs, yogurts, cheese
Carbs available - rice, baked potato, tortilla wraps, bread
Vegetables available - tomato, onions, lettuce, bell peppers, mushrooms, cabbage, spinach
Fruit available - apples, strawberries, blue berries
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Lauralind, that sounds like such a big project getting bedrooms and occupancy (smile) straightened out. At that age, my ds was also in the smallest bedroom until his big sister actually moved out for her 3rd year of college, and I remember it was a relief in general to move him into her larger room. He was headed to 6 feet tall by then for one thing! Did you get the priming you wanted done?

We have also had some mildew concerns and wondered about mold. Getting this new heating/air system is going to be good for us on that front, too. We were told that sort of thing can be hiding in a unit. Our unit was between 15 and 20 years old. The reason I'm not sure is that my parents were living when it was last changed and I was not fully a decision maker.

Gee, I'm not sure what to say I need from this day. Mental prep for a hard day tomorrow for one thing. Dd and I were told they have nothing beyond snacks so they assume we will bring lunch or plan something ourselves. But HRH needs to be prepared to help me have lunch since I have to stay still and will only have one free arm/hand. Hmmm ... I need to talk to HRH about that. We'll need to structure today so that we can go to bed about 8:00 this evening, too.

I guess I needed more sleep. Dh is still sleeping, which is so unusual for him. I couldn't believe what time it was when I finally got out of bed this morning!! 10:50! WOW!

Because we had a roast last night, I told dh that I wanted to have a simple, easy to make supper tonight. Soup and sandwiches.

Twins - I love how you started today’s thread! Wow , I think a relaxing day focusing on blessings and not worries is what I need today. Enjoying time with my daughter and our cat on a sunny Sunday.

I do have a to do to work on - need to get things together for a tax appt later this week. Fortunately I have gotten more organized than other years, so it shouldn’t be too bad. But as some of us S.H.E.’s are known for, I can be a bit of a procrastinator. But I know how good it’s going to feel to have it all set, so that will be my motivator!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Harriet: maybe figure out something thick and mushy for your snack? Something you don't have to chew and can use your tongue to stop it from dripping down your throat and making you cough. I've been thinking of you all weekend. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life. That trite saying is awfully true in your case.

I need get up and go.

I'm having a weird day. I just finished tea and chocolate, normally the second step of my day now (physio stretching is first.) Today I didn't start it until after 10, despite getting out of bed at 7 (and dozing in and out from 5:40 which was 8 hours after getting into bed and 7.5 hours after I turned out the light.)

I got up, limped into the living room (that's why physio is first) and settled on the couch to finish the book I was reading.

Now that the book is finished, I either want go back to bed (which isn't made) or start the next book waiting for me on my e-library shelf.

What I should do is get dressed and make the bed.

What I might do is eat some breakfast. I'm not hungry but maybe it will trigger something in me and I'll start doing other stuff. When my tea was steeping, I emptied the dishwasher, so doing routine things might be what I need to do.

Yesterday I was out with dgs4 and family from 9 to 2. Then I settled in to read. And just read and read, except for a break at supper time when I watched TV for a bit until the Tubi app stopped working on my tv. Thankfully, with something to read right in my hands, I was able to resist heading into a youtube coma, mindlessly scrolling and watching for hours. Instead, I read until 9 and was tired so was in bed by 9:30.

OK, I'm going to push away from the computer.
